Yahweh, Rescue My Soul

¹ O Yahweh, ^(C1)do not reprove me in Your anger,
Nor discipline me in Your wrath.

² Be gracious to me, O Yahweh, for I am ^(C1)pining away;
^(C2)Heal me, O Yahweh, for ^(C3)my bones are dismayed.

³ And my ^(C1)soul is greatly dismayed;
But You, O Yahweh—^(C2)how long?

⁴ Return, O Yahweh, ^(C1)rescue my ^(F1)soul;
Save me because of Your lovingkindness.

⁵ For ^(C1)there is no remembrance of You in death;
In Sheol who will give You thanks?

⁶ I am ^(C1)weary with my sighing;
Every night I make my bed swim,
I flood my couch with ^(C2)my tears.

⁷ My ^(C1)eye has wasted away with grief;
It has become old because of all my adversaries.

^8 (C1)Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity,
For Yahweh ^(C2)has heard the sound of my weeping.

⁹ Yahweh ^(C1)has heard my supplication,
Yahweh ^(C2)receives my prayer.

¹⁰ All my enemies will ^(C1)be ashamed and greatly dismayed;
They shall ^(F1)turn back, they will ^(C2)suddenly be ashamed.
