Naaman’s Disease Healed

¹ Naaman,^(C1) commander of the army for the king of Aram, was a man important to his master and highly regarded^(C2) because through him, the Lord had given victory to Aram. The man was a valiant warrior, but he had a skin disease.^(C3)

¹ Now Na`aman, captain of the host of the king of Aram, was a great man with his master, and honorable, because by him the LORD had given victory to Aram: he was also a mighty man of valor, [but he was] a leper.

It so happened that Aram, on one of its raiding expeditions against Israel, captured a young girl who became a maid to Naaman's wife. One day she said to her mistress, "Oh, if only my master could meet the prophet of Samaria, he would be healed of his skin disease."

² And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife. ² Now the Syrians on ^(c)one of their raids had carried off a little girl from the land of Israel, and she worked in the service of Naaman's wife.

² The Arameans had gone out to raid the Israelites and had taken a little girl as a captive. ² The Aramean army sent many groups of soldiers to fight in Israel. One time they took a little girl from the land of Israel. ³ And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy. ³ She said to her mistress, "Would that my lord were with the prophet who is in Samaria! He would cure him of his leprosy." ³ She said to her mistress, "I wish my master would meet the prophet who lives in Samaria. He would cure him of his disease." ³ She told her mistress, "If only my master were in the presence of the prophet who is in Samaria! Then he would cure him of his skin disease."³ She said to her mistress, "I wish that my master Naaman were with the prophet who is in Samaria! Then he would heal him of his leprosy."³ And she said to her mistress, "If only my master were ^(F1)with the prophet who is in Samaria! Then he would cure him of his leprosy."³ And she sayd vnto her mistres, Would God my lord were with the Prophet that is in Samaria, he would soone deliuer him of his leprosie.³ And she said to her mistress, "I wish that my master were before the prophet who is in Samaria! Then he would cure him of his leprosy." ³ Some time later the girl said, "If your husband Naaman would go to the prophet in Samaria, he would be cured of his leprosy." ³ She said to her mistress, "I wish my lord could go to the prophet in Shomron! He could heal his tzara‘at."

³ And she said to her mistress, Oh, would that my lord were before the prophet that is in Samaria! then he would cure him of his leprosy. ³ She said to his wife, "I wish that my master would meet the prophet who lives in Samaria. He could heal Naaman of his leprosy."³ And she said to her mistress, Blessed would be my lord if he would go to the prophet who is in Samaria! for he would immediately cure him of his leprosy. ³ One day she said to her mistress, "I wish that my master could go to the prophet who lives in Samaria! He would cure him of his disease." ³ She said to her mistress, "If only my lord would come before the prophet who is in Samaria; then he would cure his skin disease."^{[c] 3} And she said to her mistress, Oh that my lord were before the prophet who is in Samaria! Then he would recover him from his leprosy.³ and sayde vnto hir mastresse: O that my master were with the prophet at Samaria, he wolde heale him from his leprosy. ³ And she said unto her mistress, Would that my lord were ^[d]with the prophet that is in Samaria! then would he recover him of his leprosy. ³ And she said to her master's wife, If only my lord would go to the prophet in Samaria, he would make him well.³ And she saide vnto her lady: I would to God my lorde were with the prophet that is in Samaria, for he would delyuer him of his leprosie.³ And she said unto her mistress: 'Would that my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! then would he recover him of his leprosy.'³ And shee saide vnto her mistresse, Would God my lord were with the Prophet that is in Samaria, for hee would recouer him of his leprosie. ³ And she said to her mistress, O that my lord were before the prophet of God in Samaria; then he would recover him from his leprosy. ³ And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! then would he recover him of his leprosy. ³ She said to her mistress, “If only my master would go to the prophet who is in Samaria, he would cure him of his leprosy.”³ `Which damysele seide to hir ladi, `Y wolde, that my lord hadde be at the prophete which is in Samarie; sotheli the prophete schulde haue curid hym of the lepre which he hath.³ and she saith unto her mistress, `O that my lord [were] before the prophet who [is] in Samaria; then he doth recover him from his leprosy.'³ And she said to her mistress, Oh that my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! then he would recover him of his leprosy.³ And she said to her mistress, I would that my lord [were] with the prophet that [is] in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.³ She said to her mistress, Would that my lord were with the prophet who is in Samaria! then would he recover him of his leprosy. ³ Then she said to her mistress, "If only my master were with the prophet who is in Samaria! For he would heal him of his leprosy." ³ One day the girl said to her mistress, "I wish my master would go to see the prophet in Samaria. He would heal him of his leprosy." ³ And she said to her owner, "I wish that my owner's husband were with the man of God who is in Samaria! Then he would heal his bad skin disease." ³ She said to her mistress, "If only my lord were with the prophet who is in Samaria! He would cure him of his leprosy."^{[b] 3} And she said unto her mistress, Ah! would that my lord were before the prophet, who is in Samaria! then, would he set him free from his leprosy.³ And she said to her mistress: I wish my master had been with the prophet that is in Samaria: he would certainly have healed him of the leprosy which he hath.³ She said to her mistress, "Would that my lord were with the prophet who is in Sama'ria! He would cure him of his leprosy."³ and she says to her mistress, "O that my lord [were] before the prophet who [is] in Samaria; then he recovers him from his leprosy."³ She said to her mistress, "I wish that my master were ^(F1)with the prophet who is in Samaria! Then he would cure him of his leprosy."

⁴ So Naaman went and told his master what the girl from the land of Israel had said. ⁴ One went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maiden who is of Eretz-Yisra'el.

⁴ And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel. ⁴ So Naaman went in and told his lord, "Thus and so spoke the girl from the land of Israel."

⁴ Naaman went to the king and told him what the girl from Israel had said.

⁴ Naaman went and told his master what the girl from the land of Israel had said. ⁴ Naaman went in and told his master the king, "The girl who is from the land of Israel said such and such."⁴ And ^(F1)Naaman went in and told his master, saying, "The girl who is from the land of Israel spoke such and such."⁴ And he went in, and tolde his lorde, saying, Thus and thus saith the mayde that is of the land of Israel.⁴ Then ^(F1)Naaman went in and told his master, saying, "Thus and thus spoke the girl who is from the land of Israel."

⁴ When Naaman told the king what the girl had said, ⁴ Na‘aman went in and told his lord, "The girl from the land of Isra'el said such-and-such."

⁴ And he went and told his lord saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.

⁴ Naaman went to the king and told him what the Israelite girl said.⁴ And they went in and told her lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid who is from the land of Israel. ⁴ When Naaman heard of this, he went to the king and told him what the girl had said. ⁴ He came and told his master, saying, "Thus and so the girl who is from the land of Israel said." ⁴ And one went in and told his lord, saying, This and this she said, the girl who is from the land of Israel.⁴ Then wente he into his lorde, and tolde him, and sayde: Thus and thus hath the damsel of the londe of Israel spoken. ⁴ And ^[e]one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maiden that is of the land of Israel. ⁴ And someone went and said to his lord, This is what the girl from the land of Israel says.⁴ And he went in, and tolde his lorde, saying: Thus and thus saide the mayd that is of the lande of Israel.⁴ And he went in, and told his lord, saying: 'Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.'⁴ And one went in, and tolde his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the mayd that is of the land of Israel. ⁴ And she went in and told her lord, and said, Thus and thus spoke the maid from the land of Israel. ⁴ And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel. ⁴ And Naaman went and told his master what the girl from the land of Israel had said.⁴ Therfor Naaman entride to his lord, and telde to hym, and seide, A damysel of the lond of Israel spak so and so.⁴ And [one] goeth in and declareth to his lord, saying, `Thus and thus she hath spoken, the damsel who [is] from the land of Israel.'⁴ And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maiden that is of the land of Israel.⁴ And [one] went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that [is] of the land of Israel.⁴ One went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maiden who is of the land of Israel. ⁴ And Naaman went in and told his master, saying, "Thus and thus said the girl who is from the land of Israel."

⁴ So Naaman told the king what the young girl from Israel had said. ⁴ So Naaman went in and told his king, "This is what the girl from the land of Israel said." ⁴ So Naaman^[c] went in and told his lord just what the girl from the land of Israel had said. ⁴ And he went in and told his lord, saying, - Thus and thus, hath spoken the maiden who is of the land of Israel!⁴ Then Naaman went in to his lord, and told him, saying: Thus and thus said the girl from the land of Israel.⁴ So Na'aman went in and told his lord, "Thus and so spoke the maiden from the land of Israel."⁴ And [one] goes in and declares [it] to his lord, saying, "Thus and thus the girl who [is] from the land of Israel has spoken."

⁴ Naaman went straight to his master and reported what the girl from Israel had said.^4 (F1)Naaman went in and told his master, saying, "Thus and thus spoke the girl who is from the land of Israel."⁵ Therefore, the king of Aram said, “Go, and I will send a letter with you to the king of Israel.”

⁵ And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment. ⁵ And the king of Syria said, "Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel."

So he went, ^(d)taking with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels^[b] of gold, and ten ^(e)changes of clothing. ⁵ The king of Aram said, "Go ahead, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel." So Naaman left and took with him about seven hundred fifty pounds of silver, as well as one hundred fifty pounds of gold and ten changes of clothes. ⁵ The king of Syria said, "Go! I will send a letter to the king of Israel." So Naaman went, taking with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold, and ten suits of clothes. ⁵ Then the king of Aram (Syria) said, "Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel (Jehoram the son of Ahab)." So he left and ^(C1)took with him ten talents of silver and 6,000 shekels of gold, and ten ^(C2)changes of clothing.

Naaman left and took along seven hundred fifty pounds of silver, one hundred fifty pounds of gold, and ten new outfits. ⁵ The king of Aram said, "Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Isra'el."

He set out, taking with him 660 pounds of silver, 6,000 pieces of gold and ten changes of clothes.

⁵ And the king of Syria said, Well! go, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand [shekels] of gold, and ten changes of raiment.

⁵ Then the king of Aram said, "Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel."

So Naaman went to Israel. He took 750 pounds^[b] of silver, 6000 pieces of gold and ten changes of clothes as gifts.⁵ And the king of Aram said to him, Come, go, I will send a letter to the king of Israel. And he departed and took with him ten talents of silver and six thousand pieces of gold and ten changes of garments. ⁵ The king said, "Go to the king of Israel and take this letter to him."

So Naaman set out, taking thirty thousand pieces of silver, six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of fine clothes. ⁵ So the king of Aram said, "Go, I will send a letter to the king of Israel." He went and took with him^[d] ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold, and ten sets of clothing.⁵ And the king of Syria said, Go, go in, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel. And he went and took in his hand ten talents of silver, and six thousand of gold, and ten changes of garments.⁵ The kynge of Syria sayde: Go thy waye then, & I wyl wrytte a letter vnto the kynge of Israel. And he wente, and toke with him ten hundreth weighte of syluer, and sixe thousande guldens, & ten chaunge of rayment, ⁵ And the king of Syria said, Go now, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand ^[f]pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment. ⁵ So the king of Aram said, Go then; and I will send a letter to the king of Israel. And he went, taking with him ten talents of silver and six thousand shekels of gold, and ten changes of clothing.⁵ And the king of Syria saide: Go thy way thither, and I wyll send a letter vnto the king of Israel. And he departed, and toke with him ten talentes of siluer, and sixe thousand peeces of golde, and ten chaunges of raymentes,⁵ And the king of Aram said: 'Go now, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel.' And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment.⁵ And the king of Syria said, Goe to, Goe, and I will send a letter vnto the king of Israel. And hee departed, and tooke with him ten talents of siluer, and sixe thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment. ⁵ And the king of Syria said to Naiman, Go to, go, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel. And he went, and took in his hand ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment. ⁵ And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand [pieces] of gold, and ten changes of raiment. ⁵ “Go now,” said the king of Aram, “and I will send you with a letter to the king of Israel.” So Naaman departed, taking with him ten talents^(a) of silver, six thousand shekels^(a) of gold, and ten sets of clothing.⁵ Therfor the kyng of Syrie seide to hym, Go thou, and Y schal sende lettris to the kyng of Israel. And whanne he hadde go forth, and hadde take with hym ten talentis of siluer, and sixe thousynde goldun platis, `ether floreyns, and ten chaungyngis of clothis,<sup>5</sup> And the king of Aram saith, `Go thou, enter, and I send a letter unto the king of Israel;' and he goeth and taketh in his hand ten talents of silver, and six thousand [pieces] of gold, and ten changes of garments.⁵ And the king of Syria said, Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand [pieces] of gold, and ten changes of raiment.⁵ And the king of Syria said, Come, go, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand [pieces] of gold, and ten changes of raiment.⁵ The king of Syria said, Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel. He departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand [pieces] of gold, and ten changes of clothing. ⁵ Then the king of Syria said, "Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel." So he departed and took with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold, and ten changes of clothing. ⁵ "Go and visit the prophet," the king of Aram told him. "I will send a letter of introduction for you to take to the king of Israel." So Naaman started out, carrying as gifts 750 pounds of silver, 150 pounds of gold,^[b] and ten sets of clothing. ⁵ The king of Syria said, "Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel." So Naaman went and took with him silver weighing as much as ten men, 6,000 pieces of gold, and ten changes of clothes. ⁵ And the king of Aram said, "Go then, and I will send along a letter to the king of Israel."

He went, taking with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold, and ten sets of garments. ⁵ And the king of Syria said - Go, get in, that I may send a letter unto the king of Israel. So he went, and took in his hand ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment.⁵ And the king of Syria said to him: Go; and I will send a letter to the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment;⁵ And the king of Syria said, "Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel." So he went, taking with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold, and ten festal garments.⁵ And the king of Aram says, "Go, enter, and I send a letter to the king of Israel"; and he goes and takes in his hand ten talents of silver, and six thousand [pieces] of gold, and ten changes of garments.

⁵ "Well then, go," said the king of Aram. "And I'll send a letter of introduction to the king of Israel."

So he went off, taking with him about 750 pounds of silver, 150 pounds of gold, and ten sets of clothes.⁵ Then the king of Aram said, "Go ^(F1)now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel." He departed and ^(C1)took with him ten talents of silver and six thousand shekels of gold and ten ^(C2)changes of clothes.

So he went and took with him 750 pounds^(F1) of silver, 150 pounds^(F2) of gold, and ten sets of clothing.^{(C1) 6} He brought the letter to the king of Israel, and it read:

⁶ And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have therewith sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy. ⁶ And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, which read, "When this letter reaches you, know that I have sent to you Naaman my servant, that you may cure him of his leprosy." ⁶ He brought the letter to the king of Israel, which read, "I am sending my servant Naaman to you so you can heal him of his skin disease." ⁶ He brought the letter to the king of Israel. It read: "This is a letter of introduction for my servant Naaman, whom I have sent to be cured of his skin disease."

⁶ And he brought the letter to the king of Israel. It said, "And now when this letter comes to you, I will have sent my servant Naaman to you, so that ^(F1)you may heal him of his leprosy."

⁶ And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, ^(F1)which said, "And now as this letter comes to you, behold, I have sent Naaman my servant to you, so that you may cure him of his leprosy."⁶ And brought the letter to the King of Israel to this effect, Now when this letter is come vnto thee, vnderstand, that I haue sent thee Naaman my seruant, that thou maiest heale him of his leprosie.

⁶ And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, "So now as this letter comes to you, behold, I have sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may cure him of his leprosy." ⁶ He also carried the letter to the king of Israel. It said, "I am sending my servant Naaman to you. Would you cure him of his leprosy?" ⁶ He brought the king of Isra'el the letter, which said, "When this letter reaches you, you will see that I have sent my servant Na‘aman to you, so that you can heal his tzara‘at."

⁶ And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, And now, when this letter comes to thee, behold, I have sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest cure him of his leprosy. ⁶ Naaman took the letter from the king of Aram to the king of Israel. The letter said: "Now this letter is to show that I am sending my servant Naaman to you. Cure his leprosy."⁶ And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, and this was written in it: In the hour when this letter reaches you, behold, I have sent to you Naaman my servant that you may heal him of his leprosy. ⁶ The letter that he took read: "This letter will introduce my officer Naaman. I want you to cure him of his disease."

⁶ So he brought the letter of the king to Israel, saying, "Now, when this letter comes to you, I have just sent Naaman my servant to you that you may cure him from his skin disease." ⁶ And he came to the king of Israel with the letter, saying, And now when this letter comes to you, behold, I have sent to you my servant Naaman. And you shall recover him from his leprosy.⁶ & broughte the letter vnto the kynge of Israel, with these wordes: Whan this letter commeth vnto the, beholde, thou shalt vnderstonde yt I haue sent my seruaunt Naaman vnto the, that thou mayest heale him of his leprosy. ⁶ And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, And now when this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy. ⁶ And he took the letter to the king of Israel, in which the king of Aram had said, See, I have sent my servant Naaman to you to be made well, for he is a leper.⁶ And brought the letter to the king of Israel, conteyning this tenour. Now, when this letter is come vnto thee, beholde I haue therewith sent Naaman my seruaunt to thee, that thou mayest ridde him of his leprosie.⁶ And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying: 'And now when this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy.'⁶ And hee brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter is come vnto thee, behold, I haue therewith sent Naaman my seruant to thee, that thou mayest recouer him of his leprosie. ⁶ And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now then, as soon as this letter shall reach thee, behold, I have sent to thee my servant Naiman, and thou shalt recover him from his leprosy. ⁶ And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, And now when this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy. ⁶ And the letter that he took to the king of Israel stated: “With this letter I have sent my servant Naaman, so that you may cure him of his leprosy.”⁶ he brouyte lettris to the kyng of Israel bi these wordis; Whanne thou hast take this pistle, wite thou, that Y haue sent to thee Naaman, my seruaunt, that thou cure hym of his lepre.⁶ And he bringeth in the letter unto the king of Israel, saying, `And now, at the coming in of this letter unto thee, lo, I have sent unto thee Naaman my servant, and thou hast recovered him from his leprosy.'⁶ And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, And now when this letter has come to you, look, I have sent Naaman my slave to you, that you may recover him of his leprosy.⁶ And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter hath come to thee, behold, I have [with this] sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy.⁶ He brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter is come to you, behold, I have sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may recover him of his leprosy. ⁶ Then he brought the letter to the king of Israel, which said, 4 Now be advised, when this letter comes to you, that I have sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may heal him of his leprosy. ⁶ The letter to the king of Israel said: "With this letter I present my servant Naaman. I want you to heal him of his leprosy." ⁶ He brought the letter to the king of Israel, which said, "I have sent my servant Naaman to you with this letter, that you may heal his bad skin disease." ⁶ He brought the letter to the king of Israel, which read, "When this letter reaches you, know that I have sent to you my servant Naaman, that you may cure him of his leprosy."^{[d] 6} And he brought in the letter unto the king of Israel, saying, Now, therefore, when this letter cometh in unto thee, lo! I have sent unto thee, Naaman my servant, and thou shalt set him free from his leprosy.⁶ And brought the letter to the king of Israel, in these words: When thou shalt receive this letter, know that I have sent to thee Naaman, my servant, that thou mayst heal him of his leprosy.⁶ And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, which read, "When this letter reaches you, know that I have sent to you Na'aman my servant, that you may cure him of his leprosy."⁶ And he brings in the letter to the king of Israel, saying, "And now, at the coming in of this letter to you, behold, I have sent my servant Naaman to you, and you have recovered him from his leprosy."

⁶ Naaman delivered the letter to the king of Israel. The letter read, "When you get this letter, you'll know that I've personally sent my servant Naaman to you; heal him of his skin disease."

⁶ He brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, "And now as this letter comes to you, behold, I have sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may cure him of his leprosy."
