1 So then, dear friends, since we have these promises,(C1) let us cleanse ourselves from every impurity of the flesh and spirit,(C2) bringing holiness to completion(F1) in the fear of God.(C3)

1 Hauing therefore these promises (dearely beloued) let vs cleanse our selues from all filthines of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holinesse in the feare of God.

1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

1 Since we have these promises, beloved, (a)let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body[a] and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.

Paul Reveals His Heart

1 Therefore, since we have these great and wonderful promises, (C1)beloved, (C2)let us cleanse ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, completing holiness living a consecrated life—a life set apart for God's purpose in the fear of God.

Paul’s Joy in the Corinthians

1 Therefore, beloved, since we have these promises, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that defiles body and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

1 My friends, God has made us these promises. So we should stay away from everything that keeps our bodies and spirits from being clean. We should honor God and try to be completely like him.

1 Therefore, my dear friends, since we have these promises, let us purify ourselves from everything that can defile either body or spirit, and strive to be completely holy, out of reverence for God.

1 Having therefore these promises, beloved, let us purify ourselves from every pollution of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in God's fear.

1 Dear friends, we have these promises from God. So we should make ourselves pure—free from anything that makes our body or our soul unclean. Our respect for God should make us try to be completely holy in the way we live.

1 Seing then we haue these promises, dearely beloued, let vs clense our selues from all filthinesse of the flesh and spirit, and finish our sanctification in the feare of God.

1 HAVING therefore these promises, my beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, and let us serve in holiness in the fear of God.

1 All these promises are made to us, my dear friends. So then, let us purify ourselves from everything that makes body or soul unclean, and let us be completely holy by living in awe of God.

Paul's Joy at the Corinthians' Repentance

1 Therefore since we[a] have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of body and spirit, accomplishing holiness in the fear of God.

1 Then having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilements of flesh and of spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

1 Having therefore these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

1 Because God, then, will give us such rewards, dear brothers, let us make ourselves clean from all evil of flesh and spirit, and become completely holy in the fear of God.

1 Having therefore these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

1 Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit by perfecting holiness in the fear of God.[xr]

1 Because then we have these promises, my beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all impurity of the flesh and of the spirit, and accomplish sanctification in the fear of Aloha.

1 Seeing, therefore, we have these promises, my beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of the flesh and of the spirit; and let us work righteousness, in the fear of God.

1 Seyng that we haue these promises (dearely beloued) let vs clense our selues from all fylthynesse of the flesshe & spirite, and growe vp to full holynesse in the feare of God.

Self-Purification

1 Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that could defile the body and the spirit, and thus accomplish holiness out of reverence for God.

1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

1 Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God.

1 Since we have these great promises, dear friends, let us turn away from every sin of the body or of the spirit. Let us honor God with love and fear by giving ourselves to Him in every way.

1 Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and of spirit, making holiness perfect in the fear of God.

1 Having therefore, these, promises, beloved, let us purify ourselves from all pollution of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in fear of God.

1 With promises like this to pull us on, dear friends, let's make a clean break with everything that defiles or distracts us, both within and without. Let's make our entire lives fit and holy temples for the worship of God.

1 Listen to me, cowboys. We have these amazing promises from God so we should always do the best we can to stay away from things he tells us to stay away from. If you truly respect the brand, then you will strive to live holy lives.

I have, in fact, the greatest confidence in you. If only you knew how proud I am of you! I am overwhelmed with joy despite all our troubles.

Paul's Passion

2 I'm going to ask y'all again, open your hearts to us! We've done no wrong to anyone. We haven't talked anyone into doing something they shouldn't or cheated anyone out of something they have. 3 I don’t say this to condemn you, since I have already said that you are in our hearts, to die together and to live together. 3 I speake not this to condemne you: for I haue said before, that you are in our hearts to die and liue with you.

3 I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you. 3 I do not say this to condemn you, for I said before that (d)you are in our hearts, to die together and to live together.3 I do not speak to condemn you, for I have said (C1)before that you are (C2)in our hearts, to die together and to live together. 3 I do not say this to blame you. I told you before that we love you so much we would live or die with you. 3 I do not say this to condemn you, for I have said (C1)before that you are nested (C2)in our hearts and you will remain there to die together and to live together with us.3 I do not speak to condemn you, for I have said (C1)before that you are (C2)in our hearts to die together and to live together.3 I do not speak to condemn you, for I have said (C1)before that you are (C2)in our hearts to die together and to live together.3 I do not say this to condemn you. I have said before that you so occupy our hearts that we live and die together with you. 3 I am not saying this to be hard on you. But, as I have said before, you will always be in our thoughts, whether we live or die. 3 I am not saying this to put blame on you, for I have already said that you have a place in our hearts, whether we live together or die together;

3 I do not speak for condemnation, for I have already said that ye are in our hearts, to die together, and live together. 3 I do not say this to blame you. I told you before that we love you so much we would live or die with you.3 I speake it not to your condemnation: for I haue said before, that ye are in our hearts, to die and liue together.3 I do not say this to condemn you: for I have said before, that you are in our hearts, to die and live with you. 3 I do not say this to condemn you; for, as I have said before, you are so dear to us that we are always together, whether we live or die. 3 I do not say this to condemn you[c], because I have already said that you are in our hearts, so that we die together and we live together. 3 I do not speak to condemnation, for I have said before that you are in our hearts, for us to die together and to live together. 3 I say it not to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die together and live together. 3 It is not with the purpose of judging you that I say this: for I have said before that you are in our hearts for life and death together.3 I say this not to condemn you, for I have said before, that you are in our hearts to die together and live together. 3 I am not saying this to condemn you. I told you before that you are in our hearts to die together and to live together.[xr] 3 I speak not to your condemnation; for I have said already, that you are laid up in our hearts to die together and to live.3 3 I speak [fn] , not to condemn you; for I have said before, that ye are treasured in our hearts, to die and to live together. 3 I speake not this to condempne you: for I haue shewed you before, that ye are in our heartes to dye and lyue with you.3 I say it not to condemn [you]: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die together and live together. 3 I say this not to condemn you, for I have said before, that you are in our hearts to die together and live together. 3 I speak not, to condemn you; for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts, to live and to die with you.3 I do not say this to imply blame, for, as I have already said, you have such a place in our hearts that we would die with you or live with you.3 Y seie not to youre condempnyng; for Y seide bifor, that ye ben in youre hertis, to die togidere and to lyue togidere.3 I don't say it to condemn [you]: for I have said before, that you are in our hearts to die together and live together.3 I speak not [this] to condemn [you]: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with [you]. 3 I do not say this to condemn you, for I told you before that you are in our hearts so that we die together and live together with you.3 I do not say this to condemn; for I have said before that you are in our hearts, to die together and to live together. 3 I'm not saying this to condemn you. I said before that you are in our hearts, and we live or die together with you. 3 I do not say this to tell you that you are wrong. As I have said before, you have a place in our hearts and always will. If we live or die, we will be together. 3 I do not say this to condemn you, for I said before that you are in our hearts, to die together and to live together. 3 Unto condemnation, I am not saying this , for I have before said - In our hearts, are ye, to the end we may die together and live together.3 I speak not this to your condemnation. For we have said before that you are in our hearts: to die together and to live together.3 I do not say this to condemn you, for I said before that you are in our hearts, to die together and to live together.3 I speake not this to condempne you: for I have shewed you before yt ye are in oure hertes to dye and live with you.3 not to condemn you do I say [it], for I have said before that in our hearts ye are to die with and to live with;3 I do not say [it] to condemn you, for I have said before that you are in our hearts to die together and to live together;3 I speake not this to codemne you, for I haue shewed you before, that ye are in oure hertes, to dye and to lyue wt you.3 I speak not this to your reproach: for I have already assured you, that I am so heartily well affected to you, I could live and die with you. 3 But don't think I'm accusing y'all of any of this. I've told you more'n a few times that we love y'all. We'd stand in front of a mad momma cow for y'all. 4 I am very frank with you; I have great pride in you. 5 In fact, when we came into Macedonia,(C1) we(F1) had no rest. Instead, we were troubled in every way: conflicts(C2) on the outside, fears(C3) within.

5 For when wee were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on euery side; without were fightings, within were feares.

5 For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears.

5 For even (h)when we came into Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were afflicted at every turn—(i)fighting without and fear within.

5 For even when we came into (C1)Macedonia our flesh had no rest, but we were (C2)afflicted on every side: (C3)conflicts on the outside, fears inside.

5 When we came into Macedonia, we had no rest. We found trouble all around us. We had fighting on the outside and fear on the inside.

5 For even when we arrived in (C1)Macedonia our bodies had no rest, but we were (C2)oppressed at every turn—(C3)conflicts and disputes without, fears and dread within.

5 For even when we came into (C1)Macedonia our flesh had no rest, but we were (C2)afflicted on every side: (C3)conflicts without, fears within.

5 For even when we came into (C1)Macedonia our flesh had no rest, but we were (C2)afflicted on every side—(C3)conflicts without, fears within.

5 For when we arrived in Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were pressed from every direction—conflicts on the outside, fears within.

5 After we came to Macedonia, we didn't have any chance to rest. We were faced with all kinds of problems. We were troubled by enemies and troubled by fears.

5 For indeed when we came into Macedonia, our bodies had no rest. On the contrary, we faced all kinds of troubles — altercations without, apprehensions within.

5 For indeed, when we came into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but [we were] afflicted in every way; without combats, within fears.

5 When we came into Macedonia, we had no rest. We found trouble all around us. We had fighting on the outside and fear on the inside.

5 For when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on euery side, fightings without, and terrours within.

5 For ever since we came to Mac-e-do''ni-a, our bodies have had no rest but have been troubled by everything; war without and fears within.

5 (a)Even after we arrived in Macedonia, we did not have any rest. There were troubles everywhere, quarrels with others, fears in our hearts.

5 For even when[d] we arrived in Macedonia, our body had no rest, but we were afflicted in every way—quarrels outside, fears within.

5 For, indeed, we coming into Macedonia, in our flesh no one had rest, but being troubled in every way, with fightings on the outside and fears on the inside.

5 For even when we were come into Macedonia our flesh had no relief, but we were afflicted on every side; without were fightings, within were fears.

5 For even when we had come into Macedonia our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; there were fightings outside and fears inside.

5 For even when we had come into Macedonia, our flesh had no relief, but we were afflicted on every side. Fightings were outside. Fear was inside.

5 For even when we came to Macedonia, our bodies had no rest. We suffered in a number of ways. Outwardly there were conflicts, inwardly there were fears.[xr]

5 When, also, we had come into Makedunia, no repose had we for our body, but in every thing were we afflicted; without fighting, and within, fear.

5 For, after we came to Macedonia, there was no rest for our body, but we were distressed in every thing; without was conflict, and within was fear.

5 For when we were come into Macedonia, our flesshe had no rest, but we were troubled on euery syde: Outward was fyghtyng, inward was feare.

5 For even when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no relief, but [we were] afflicted on every side; without [were] fightings, within [were] fears.

5 For even when we had come into Macedonia, our flesh had no relief, but we were afflicted on every side. Fightings were outside. Fear was inside.

5 For when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side: from without were fightings, from within were fears.

5 For even after our arrival in Macedonia we could get no relief such as human nature craves. We were greatly harassed; there were conflicts without and fears within.

5 For whanne we weren comun to Macedonye, oure fleisch hadde no reste, but we suffriden al tribulacioun; with outforth fiytingis, and dredis with ynne.

5 For even when we had come into Macedonia our flesh had no relief, but [we were] afflicted on every side; outside [were] fightings, inside [were] fears.

5 For, when we had come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without [were] fightings, within [were] fears. 5 For even when we came into Macedonia, our body had no rest at all, but we were troubled in every way—struggles from the outside, fears from within.

5 For indeed, when we came to Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were troubled on every side. Outside were conflicts, inside were fears.

Paul's Joy at the Church's Repentance

5 When we arrived in Macedonia, there was no rest for us. We faced conflict from every direction, with battles on the outside and fear on the inside.

5 When we arrived in the country of Macedonia, we had no rest. We had all kinds of trouble. There was fighting all around us. Our hearts were afraid.

5 For even when we came into Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were afflicted in every way—disputes without and fears within.

5 For, even when we came into Macedonia, no relief at all, had our flesh; but, in every way, were we in tribulation, - without, fightings! within, fears!

5 For also, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest: but we suffered all tribulation. Combats without: fears within.

5 For even when we came into Macedo'nia, our bodies had no rest but we were afflicted at every turn--fighting without and fear within.

5 For when we were come into Macedonia oure flesshe had no rest but we were troubled on every syde. Outwarde was fightynge inwarde was feare.

5 for also we, having come to Macedonia, no relaxation hath our flesh had, but on every side we are in tribulation, without [are] fightings, within -- fears;

5 for we also, having come to Macedonia, our flesh has had no relaxation, but on every side we are in tribulation: fightings outside, fears within;

5 For whan we were come into Macedonia, oure flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on euery syde: outwarde was fightinge, inwarde was feare.

5 for when I came to Macedonia, I had no respit from the trouble that beset me on every side: oppositions from without, and apprehensions within. 5-7 When we arrived in Macedonia province, we couldn't settle down. The fights in the church and the fears in our hearts kept us on pins and needles. We couldn't relax because we didn't know how it would turn out. Then the God who lifts up the downcast lifted our heads and our hearts with the arrival of Titus. We were glad just to see him, but the true reassurance came in what he told us about you: how much you cared, how much you grieved, how concerned you were for me. I went from worry to tranquility in no time!

5 When we rode into Macedonia, it was constant mayhem. We were attacked from every direction. The battle against evil on the outside wasn't any harder than the battle against fear on the inside. 6 But God, who comforts the downcast,(C1) comforted us by the arrival of Titus, 6 Neuerthelesse, God that comforteth those that are cast downe, comforted vs by the comming of Titus.

6 Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus; 6 But (j)God, who comforts the downcast, (k)comforted us by the coming of Titus,6 But (C1)God, who comforts the (F1)discouraged, (C2)comforted us by the arrival of (C3)Titus; 6 But God, who comforts those who are troubled, comforted us when Titus came. 6 But (C1)God, who comforts and encourages the depressed and the disquieted, (C2)comforted us by the arrival of (C3)Titus.6 But (C1)God, who comforts the (F1)depressed, (C2)comforted us by the coming of (C3)Titus;6 But (C1)God, who comforts the humbled, (C2)comforted us by the coming of (C3)Titus;6 But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the arrival of Titus, 6 But God cheers up people in need, and that is what he did when he sent Titus to us. 6 But God, who encourages the downhearted, encouraged us with the arrival of Titus!
