2 Corinthians 5

   |

Our Future after Death

1 For we know that if our earthly tent we live in(C1) is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal dwelling in the heavens,(C2) not made with hands.(C3)

1 For we know, that if our earthly house of this Tabernacle were dissolued, wee haue a building of God, an house not made with hand, eternall in the heauens.

1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Our Heavenly Dwelling

1 For we know that if (a)the tent that is (b)our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, (c)a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

The Temporal and Eternal

1 For we know that if our (F1)(C1)earthly (C2)tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house (C3)not made by hands, eternal in the heavens.

1 We know that our body—the tent we live in here on earth—will be destroyed. But when that happens, God will have a house for us. It will not be a house made by human hands; instead, it will be a home in heaven that will last forever.

The Temporal and Eternal

1 For we know that if the (C1)earthly (C2)tent our physical body which is our house is torn down through death, we have a building from God, a house (C3)not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

The Temporal and Eternal

1 For we know that if (F1)the (C1)earthly (C2)tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house (C3)not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

The Temporal and Eternal

1 For we know that if (F1)the (C1)earthly (C2)tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house (C3)not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Our Eternal Dwelling

(Romans 8:18-27)

1 Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is dismantled, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.

1 Our bodies are like tents that we live in here on earth. But when these tents are destroyed, we know that God will give each of us a place to live. These homes will not be buildings that someone has made, but they are in heaven and will last forever.

1 We know that when the tent which houses us here on earth is torn down, we have a permanent building from God, a building not made by human hands, to house us in heaven.

1 For we know that if our earthly tabernacle house be destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

1 We know that our body—the tent we live in here on earth—will be destroyed. But when that happens, God will have a home for us to live in. It will not be the kind of home people build here. It will be a home in heaven that will continue forever.

1 For we knowe that if our earthly house of this tabernacle be destroyed, we haue a building giuen of God, that is, an house not made with handes, but eternall in the heauens.

1 FOR we know that if our earthly house were destroyed, we still have a building made by God, a house not made with hands, eternal in heaven.

1 (a)For we know that when this tent we live in—our body here on earth—is torn down, God will have a house in heaven for us to live in, a home he himself has made, which will last forever.

Absent from the Body and at Home with the Lord

1 For we know that if our earthly house, the tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made by hands, eternal in the heavens.

1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle is taken down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in Heaven.

1 For we know that if the earthly house of our [a]tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens.

1 For we are conscious that if this our tent of flesh is taken down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in heaven.

1 For we know that if the earthly house of our tent is dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens.

1 We know that if the earthly tent we live in is torn down, we have a building in heaven that comes from God, an eternal house not built by human[fn] hands.[xr]

1 FOR we know that if our earthly house of this body were dissolved, we have nevertheless a building that is by Aloha; a house which is not made with hands, in the heaven, eternal.

1 For we know that, if our house on earth-this of the body, were dissolved, yet we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in heaven.

1 For we knowe, that yf our earthly house of [this] tabernacle were destroyed, we haue a building of God, an habitation not made with handes, but eternall in heauen.

1 For we know that if the earthly house of our tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens.

1 For we know that if the earthly house of our tent is dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens.

1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building from God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

1 For we know that if this poor tent, our earthly house, is taken down, we have in Heaven a building which God has provided, a house not built by human hands, but eternal.

1 And we witen, that if oure ertheli hous of this dwellynge be dissoluyd, that we han a bildyng of God, an hous not maad bi hondis, euerlastynge in heuenes.

1 For we know that if the earthly house of our tabernacle is dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens.

1 For we know that if our earthly house of [this] tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Living by Faith, Not by Sight

1 For we know that if our earthly house, the tent we live in, is dismantled, we have a building from God, a house not built by human hands, that is eternal in the heavens.

1 For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

New Bodies

1 For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.

Our Weak Human Bodies

1 Our body is like a house we live in here on earth. When it is destroyed, we know that God has another body for us in heaven. The new one will not be made by human hands as a house is made. This body will last forever.

1 For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

1 For we know that - -if, our earthly tent-dwelling, should be taken down, we have, a building of God, a dwelling not made by hand, age-abiding in the heavens.

1 For we know, if our earthly house of this habitation be dissolved, that we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in heaven.

1 For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

1 We knowe suerly yf oure erthy mancion wherin we now dwell were destroyed that we have a bildinge ordeyned of god an habitacion not made with hondes but eternall in heve.

1 For we have known that if our earthly house of the tabernacle may be thrown down, a building from God we have, an house not made with hands -- age-during -- in the heavens,

1 For we have known that if the tent of our earthly house may be thrown down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands—perpetual—in the heavens,

1 We knowe surely, yt yf oure earthy house of this dwellynge were destroyed, we haue a buyldynge ordeyned of God, an house not made with handes, but euerlastynge in heauen.

1 For I know, that if my body, which is but a tent for my sojourning upon earth, were dissolved, I have what is not fram'd by human art, but by the divine architect, a mansion eternal in the heavens. 1-5 For instance, we know that when these bodies of ours are taken down like tents and folded away, they will be replaced by resurrection bodies in heaven—God-made, not handmade—and we'll never have to relocate our "tents" again. Sometimes we can hardly wait to move—and so we cry out in frustration. Compared to what's coming, living conditions around here seem like a stopover in an unfurnished shack, and we're tired of it! We've been given a glimpse of the real thing, our true home, our resurrection bodies! The Spirit of God whets our appetite by giving us a taste of what's ahead. He puts a little of heaven in our hearts so that we'll never settle for less.

1 This wall tent we live in here will one day be taken down and put away. What we will get is a brand-new body in heaven that won't flap, sag, or tear. God is going to do us up just right. 2 Indeed, we groan in this tent, desiring(C1) to put on our heavenly dwelling, 2 For in this we grone earnestly, desiring to be clothed vpon with our house, which is from heauen.

2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: 2 For in this tent (d)we groan, longing to (e)put on our heavenly dwelling,2 For indeed, in this tent we (C1)groan, longing to be (C2)clothed with our (F1)dwelling from heaven, 2 But now we groan in this tent. We want God to give us our heavenly home, 2 For indeed in this house we (C1)groan, longing to be (C2)clothed with our immortal, eternal celestial dwelling,2 For indeed in this house we (C1)groan, longing to be (C2)clothed with our dwelling from heaven,2 For indeed in this we (C1)groan, longing to be (C2)clothed with our dwelling from heaven,2 For in this tent we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, 2 While we are here on earth, we sigh because we want to live in that heavenly home. 2 For in this tent, our earthly body, we groan with desire to have around us the home from heaven that will be ours.

2 For indeed in this we groan, ardently desiring to have put on our house which [is] from heaven; 2 But now we are tired of this body. We want God to give us our heavenly home.2 For therefore we sighe, desiring to be clothed with our house, which is from heauen.2 We also weary over this earthly house, earnestly longing to use our house which is in heaven. 2 And now we sigh, so great is our desire that our home which comes from heaven should be put on over us; 2 For indeed, in this house we groan, because we[a] desire to put on our dwelling from heaven, 2 For also in this we groan, greatly desiring to be clothed with our dwelling place out of Heaven, 2 For verily in this we groan, longing to be clothed upon with our habitation which is from heaven: 2 For in this we are crying in weariness, greatly desiring to be clothed with our house from heaven:2 For most assuredly in this we groan, longing to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven; 2 For in this one we sigh, since we long to put on our heavenly dwelling.[xr] 2 For concerning this also we groan, and long to put on our house which is from heaven,2 And on this account also, we groan, and wish to be clothed with our house from heaven:2 For therfore sygh we, desiryng to be clothed with our house whiche is from heauen:2 For verily in this we groan, longing to be clothed upon with our habitation which is from heaven: 2 For most assuredly in this we groan, longing to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven; 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon, with our house which is from heaven:2 For in this one we sigh, because we long to put on over it our dwelling which comes from Heaven--2 For whi in this thing we mornen, coueitynge to be clothid aboue with oure dwellyng, which is of heuene; if netheles we ben foundun clothid,2 For truly in this we groan, longing to be clothed on with our habitation which is from heaven:2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our house which is from heaven: 2 For in this earthly house we groan, because we desire to put on our heavenly dwelling, 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, 2 We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing. 2 Right now we cry inside ourselves because we wish we could have our new body which we will have in heaven. 2 For in this tent we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling— 2 And verily, in this, we sigh, earnestly desiring to clothe ourselves over, with our habitation which is of heaven, - 2 For in this also we groan, desiring to be clothed upon with our habitation that is from heaven.2 Here indeed we groan, and long to put on our heavenly dwelling,2 And herefore sigh we desyringe to be clothed wt oure mansion which is from heven:2 for also in this we groan, with our dwelling that is from heaven earnestly desiring to clothe ourselves,2 for also in this we groan, earnestly desiring to clothe ourselves with our dwelling that is from Heaven,2 And in the same sighe we also after oure masion, which is from heauen:2 while I am thus incas'd, I groan with desire to have that celestial vehicle superinduc'd: 2 Sure, we get tired of living in these earthly bodies and long for the new one that we know is waiting on us. 3 since, when we have taken it off,(F1) we will not be found naked.(C1) 3 If so be that being clothed we shal not be found naked.

3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. 3 if indeed by putting it on[a] we may not be found naked.3 since in fact after putting it on, we will not be found naked. 3 because it will clothe us so we will not be naked. 3 so that by putting it on we will not be found naked.3 inasmuch as we, having put it on, will not be found naked.3 inasmuch as we, having put it on, will not be found naked.3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 3 We want to put it on like clothes and not be naked. 3 With this around us we will not be found naked.

3 if indeed being also clothed we shall not be found naked. 3 It will clothe us and we will not be naked.3 Because that if we be clothed, we shal not be found naked.3 If not so, even when we are clothed, we will still be naked. 3 by being clothed with it we shall not be without a body. 3 if indeed, even after we[b] have taken it off,[c] we will not be found naked. 3 if indeed in being clothed, we shall not be found naked. 3 if so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. 3 So that our spirits may not be unclothed.3 if so be that being clothed we will not be found naked. 3 Of course, if we do put it on, we will not be found without a body.[fn][xr] 3 if, when that we have clothed, we may not be found naked.3 if indeed, when clothed, we shall not be found naked.3 So yet, yf that we be founde clothed, and not naked.3 if so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. 3 if so be that being clothed we will not be found naked. 3 If being clothed, we shall not be found naked.3 if indeed having really put on a robe we shall not be found to be unclothed.3 and not nakid.3 if so be that being unclothed we shall not be found naked.3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. 3 if indeed, after we have put on our heavenly house, we will not be found naked. 3 if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. 3 For we will put on heavenly bodies; we will not be spirits without bodies.[a] 3 We will not be without a body. We will live in a new body. 3 if indeed, when we have taken it off[a] we will not be found naked. 3 Although, indeed, even clothing ourselves, we shall not be found, naked; - 3 Yet so that we be found clothed, not naked.3 so that by putting it on we may not be found naked.3 so yet if that we be founde clothed and not naked.3 if so be that, having clothed ourselves, we shall not be found naked,3 if so be that, having clothed ourselves, we will not be found naked,3 and longe to be clothed therwith, so yet, yf that we be founde clothed, and not naked.3 tho' should I be divested of this body, I shall not even then be destitute of one. 3 Don't let anyone tell you differently, we will have bodies in heaven. We ain't gonna be like ghosts just floating around like a fog. 4 Indeed, we groan while we are in this tent, burdened as we are, because we do not want to be unclothed but clothed, so that mortality(C1) may be swallowed up by life. 4 For, we that are in this tabernacle, doe grone, being burdened, not for that wee would bee vnclothed, but clothed vpon, that mortalitie might bee swallowed vp of life.

4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. 4 For while we are still in this tent, we groan, being burdened—not that we would be unclothed, but that we would be further clothed, so that what is mortal (f)may be swallowed up by life.4 For indeed, we who are in this tent (C1)groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be (C2)clothed, so that what is (C3)mortal will be swallowed up by life. 4 While we live in this body, we have burdens, and we groan. We do not want to be naked, but we want to be clothed with our heavenly home. Then this body that dies will be fully covered with life. 4 For while we are in this tent, we (C1)groan, being burdened often weighed down, oppressed, not that we want to be unclothed separated by death from the body, but to be (C2)clothed, so that what is (C3)mortal the body will be swallowed up by life after the resurrection.4 For indeed while we are in this tent, we (C1)groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be (C2)clothed, so that what is (C3)mortal will be swallowed up by life.4 For indeed while we are in this tent, we (C1)groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be (C2)clothed, so that what is (C3)mortal will be swallowed up by life.4 So while we are in this tent, we groan under our burdens, because we do not wish to be unclothed but clothed, so that our mortality may be swallowed up by life.

4 These tents we now live in are like a heavy burden, and we groan. But we don't do this just because we want to leave these bodies that will die. It is because we want to change them for bodies that will never die. 4 Yes, while we are in this body, we groan with the sense of being oppressed: it is not so much that we want to take something off, but rather to put something on over it; so that what must die may be swallowed up by the Life.

4 For indeed we who are in the tabernacle groan, being burdened; while yet we do not wish to be unclothed, but clothed, that [what is] mortal may be swallowed up by life. 4 While we live in this tent, we have burdens and so we complain. I don't mean that we want to remove this tent, but we want to be clothed with our heavenly home. Then this body that dies will be covered with life.4 For in deede we that are in this tabernacle, sigh and are burdened, because we would not be vnclothed, but would be clothed vpon, that mortalitie might be swalowed vp of life.4 While we are in this earthly house, we groan because of its weight: yet we are unwilling to leave it, but rather wish to add to it, so that death will be overcome by life. 4 While we live in this earthly tent, we groan with a feeling of oppression; it is not that we want to get rid of our earthly body, but that we want to have the heavenly one put on over us, so that what is mortal will be transformed by life. 4 For indeed we who are in this tent groan, being burdened for this reason, that[d] we do not want to be unclothed, but to be clothed, in order that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 4 For indeed, being in the tabernacle, we groan, having been weighted down, inasmuch as we do not wish to be unclothed, but to be clothed, so that the mortal may be swallowed up by the life. 4 For indeed we that are in this [b]tabernacle do groan, [c]being burdened; not for that we would be unclothed, but that we would be clothed upon, that what is mortal may be swallowed up of life. 4 For truly, we who are in this tent do give out cries of weariness, for the weight of care which is on us; not because we are desiring to be free from the body, but so that we may have our new body, and death may be overcome by life.4 For indeed we who are in this tent do groan, being burdened; not that we desire to be unclothed, but that we desire to be clothed, that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 4 So while we are still in this tent, we sigh under our burdens, because we do not want to put it off but to put it on, so that our dying bodies may be swallowed up by life.[xr] 4 For now while we are in this house, we groan from the weight of it: yet are we not willing to cast it off, but to be clothed upon of it, that its mortality might be swallowed up in life.4 For while we are here in this house, we groan under its burden; yet ye desire, not to throw it off; but to be clothed over it, so that its mortality may be absorbed in life.4 For we that are in this tabernacle sigh, & being burdened because we would not be vnclothed, but would be clothed vpo, that mortalitie might be swalowed vp of lyfe.4 For indeed we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened; not for that we would be unclothed, but that we would be clothed upon, that what is mortal may be swallowed up of life. 4 For indeed we who are in this tent do groan, being burdened; not that we desire to be unclothed, but that we desire to be clothed, that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 4 For we who are in this tabernacle groan, being burdened; not that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that what is mortal may be swallowed up of life.4 Yes, we who are in this tent certainly do sigh under our burdens, for we do not wish to lay aside that with which we are now clothed, but to put on more, so that our mortality may be absorbed in Life.4 For whi and we that ben in this tabernacle, sorewen with ynne, and ben heuyed, for that we wolen not be spuylid, but be clothid aboue; that the ilke thing that is deedli, be sopun vp of lijf.4 For indeed we that are in this tabernacle groan, being burdened; not that we want to be unclothed, but that we want to be clothed, that what is mortal may be swallowed up of life.4 For we that are in [this] tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not because we would be unclothed, but clothed, that mortality might be swallowed up in life. 4 For we groan while we are in this tent, since we are weighed down, because we do not want to be unclothed, but clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 4 For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. 4 While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it's not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life. 4 While we are in this body, we cry inside ourselves because things are hard for us. It is not that we want to die. Instead, we want to live in our new bodies. We want this dying body to be changed into a living body that lasts forever. 4 For while we are still in this tent, we groan under our burden, because we wish not to be unclothed but to be further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 4 And verily, we who are in the tent, do sigh, being weighed down, while yet we are not wishing to unclothe ourselves, but to clothe ourselves over, - in order that, what is mortal, may be swallowed up, by life.4 For we also, who are in this tabernacle, do groan, being burthened; because we would not be unclothed, but clothed upon, that that which is mortal may be swallowed up by life.4 For while we are still in this tent, we sigh with anxiety; not that we would be unclothed, but that we would be further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.4 For as longe as we are in this tabernacle we sigh and are greved for we wold not be vnclothed but wolde be clothed apon that mortalite myght be swalowed vp of lyfe.4 for we also who are in the tabernacle do groan, being burdened, seeing we wish not to unclothe ourselves, but to clothe ourselves, that the mortal may be swallowed up of the life.4 for we also who are in the tent groan, being burdened, seeing we do not wish to unclothe ourselves, but to clothe ourselves, that the mortal may be swallowed up of life.4 For as longe as we are in this tabernacle, we sighe and are greued, for we had rather not be vnclothed, but to be clothed vpon, that mortalite might be swalowed vp of life.4 we that are in this tabernacle do groan under the burden of it: not that we desire to be divested of it, but we desire to have our celestial body, that this mortal state may vanish into immortality. 4 These tents we live in here groan, sigh, and complain, but we ain't trying to shuck 'em before God is through with us. We know the times coming and we can't wait to put on our new duds. 5 Now the one who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave us the Spirit as a down payment.

5 Now he that hath wrought vs for the selfe same thing, is God, who also hath giuen vnto vs the earnest of the spirit.

5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. 5 He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, (g)who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.5 Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who (C1)gave us the Spirit as a (F1)pledge.

5 This is what God made us for, and he has given us the Spirit to be a guarantee for this new life.5 Now He who has made us and prepared us for this very purpose is God, who (C1)gave us the Holy Spirit as a pledge a guarantee, a down payment on the fulfillment of His promise.

5 Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who (C1)gave to us the Spirit as a (F1)pledge.

5 Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who (C1)gave to us the Spirit as a (F1)pledge.

5 And God has prepared us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a pledge of what is to come. 5 God is the one who makes all of this possible. He has given us his Spirit to make us certain that he will do it. 5 Moreover, it is God who has prepared us for this very thing, and as a pledge he has given us his Spirit.

5 Now he that has wrought us for this very thing [is] God, who also has given to us the earnest of the Spirit. 5 This is what God himself made us for. And he has given us the Spirit as the first payment to guarantee the life to come.5 And he that hath created vs for this thing, is God, who also hath giuen vnto vs the earnest of the Spirit.5 Now he who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given to us the pledge of his Spirit. 5 God is the one who has prepared us for this change, and he gave us his Spirit as the guarantee of all that he has in store for us. 5 Now the one who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given us the down payment, the Spirit.5 And the One having worked in us for this same thing is God, who also is giving us the earnest of the Spirit. 5 Now he that wrought us for this very thing is God, who gave unto us the earnest of the Spirit. 5 Now he who has made us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a witness of what is to come.5 Now he who made us for this very thing is God, who also gave to us the down payment of the Spirit. 5 God has prepared us for this and has given us his Spirit as a guarantee.[xr] 5 And he who prepareth us for this is Aloha, who hath given to us the earnest-pledge of his Spirit.5 And he that prepareth us for this thing, is God: who hath given us the earnest of his Spirit.5 He that hath ordeyned vs for this thyng [is] God, which hath also geuen vnto vs the earnest of the spirite.5 Now he that wrought us for this very thing is God, who gave unto us the earnest of the Spirit. 5 Now he who made us for this very thing is God, who also gave to us the down payment of the Spirit. 5 Now he that hath wrought us to this very thing is God, who hath also given us the earnest of the Spirit.5 And He who formed us with this very end in view is God, who has given us His Spirit as a pledge and foretaste of that bliss.5 But who is it that makith vs in to this same thing? God, that yaf to vs the ernes of the spirit.5 Now he that worked us for this very thing is God, who gave to us the earnest of the Spirit.5 Now he that hath wrought us for this same thing [is] God, who also hath given to us the earnest of the Spirit. 5 Now the one who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave us the Spirit as a down payment. 5 Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. 5 God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit. 5 It is God Who has made us ready for this change. He has given us His Spirit to show us what He has for us. 5 He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.5 Now, he that hath wrought us for this very thing, is, God, - who hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit,5 Now he that maketh us for this very thing is God, who hath given us the pledge of the Spirit,5 He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.5 He that hath ordeyned vs for this thynge ys god which very same hath geven vnto vs the ernest of the sprete.5 And He who did work us to this self-same thing [is] God, who also did give to us the earnest of the Spirit;5 And He who worked us to this very thing [is] God, who also gave to us the deposit of the Spirit;5 But he that hath ordeyned vs for this, is God, which hath geuen vs the earnest of the sprete.5 now he that hath prepared us for this very state, is God, who hath given us the spirit as a pledge of it. 5 Having something made specifically for us from God is something special. We know it's waiting on us because the Holy Spirit was the guarantee sent to us as a promise of what's to come.

6 So we are always confident and know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. 6 Therefore we are alwayes confident, knowing that whilest wee are at home in the body, wee are absent from the Lord.

6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:

6 So we are always of good courage. We know that (h)while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord,

6 Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that (C1)while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord—

6 So we always have courage. We know that while we live in this body, we are away from the Lord.

6 So then, being always filled with good courage and confident hope, and knowing that (C1)while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord—

6 Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that (C1)while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord--

6 Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that (C1)while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord—6 Therefore we are always confident, although we know that while we are at home in the body, we are away from the Lord. 6 So always be cheerful!

As long as we are in these bodies, we are away from the Lord.

6 So we are always confident — we know that so long as we are at home in the body, we are away from our home with the Lord;

6 Therefore [we are] always confident, and know that while present in the body we are absent from the Lord,

6 So we always have confidence. We know that while we live in this body, we are away from the Lord.
