Living Letters

1 Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, like some, letters of recommendation to you or from you?

1 Doe wee begin againe to commend our selues? or need wee, as some others, Epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?

1 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?

Servants of the New Agreement

Ministers of a New Covenant

1 Are we starting to (C1)commend ourselves again? Or do we need, like some false teachers, (C2)letters of recommendation to you or from you? No!

Ministers of a New Covenant

1 Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, like some people, letters of recommendation to you or from you?

God's New Agreement

1 Are we once again bragging about ourselves? Do we need letters to you or from you to tell others about us? Some people do need letters that tell about them.

1 Are we starting to recommend ourselves again? Or do we, like some, need letters of recommendation either to you or from you?

1 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or do we need, as some, commendatory letters to you, or [commendatory] from you?

Servants of God's New Agreement

1 Why are we beginning again to tell you all these good things about ourselves? Do we need letters of introduction to you or from you, like some other people?

1 Doe we begin to praise our selues againe? or neede we as some other, epistles of recommendation vnto you, or letters of recommendation from you?

1 DO we begin again to commend our selves? Or do we need, as some other people, epistles of commendation concerning us written to you, or that you should write commending us?

Servants of the New Covenant

1 Does this sound as if we were again boasting about ourselves? Could it be that, like some other people, we need letters of recommendation to you or from you?

New Covenant Ministry

1 Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we, like some, need letters of recommendation to you or from you?

1 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? Or do we, as some, need commendatory letters to you, or commendatory ones from you?

1 Are we beginning again to commend ourselves? or need we, as do some, epistles of commendation to you or from you?

1 Do we seem to be again attempting to put ourselves in the right? or have we need, as some have, of letters of approval to you or from you?

1 Are we beginning again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as do some, letters of commendation to you or from you?

1 Are we beginning to recommend ourselves again? Unlike some people, we do not need letters of recommendation to you or from you, do we?[xr]

1 Do we begin again anew to show who we are? or do we need as others to write epistles of commendation to you concerning ourselves, or that you should write to commend us ?

1 Do we begin again to show you who we are? Or do we, like others, need that letters recommendatory of us should be written to you? Or, that ye should write recommendations of us?

1 Do we begyn to prayse our selues agayne? Or neede we [as some other] of epistles of recomendation vnto you? or [letters] of recommendation from you?

1 Do you say that this is self-recommendation once more? Or do we need, as some do, letters of recommendation to you or from you?

1 Bigynnen we therfor eftsoone to preise vs silf? or whether we neden, as summen, pistlis of preisinge to you, or of you?

1 Are we beginning again to commend ourselves? or do we need, as do some, epistles of commendation to you or from you?

1 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some [others], epistles of commendation to you, or [letters] of commendation from you.

A Living Letter

1 Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? We don't need letters of recommendation to you or from you as some other people do, do we?

1 [xr] Do we begin again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as some others, epistles of commendation to you or letters of commendation from you?

1 Are we beginning to praise ourselves again? Are we like others, who need to bring you letters of recommendation, or who ask you to write such letters on their behalf? Surely not!

The Old and the New Way

1 Are we making it sound as if we think we are so important? Other people write letters about themselves. Do we need to write such a letter to you?

Ministers of the New Covenant

1 Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Surely we do not need, as some do, letters of recommendation to you or from you, do we?

1 Are we to begin again, ourselves, to commend? or have we need, like some, of commendatory letters unto you, or from you?

1 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? Or do we need (as some do) epistles of commendation to you, or from you?

1 Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, as some do, letters of recommendation to you, or from you?

1 We begyn to prayse oure selves agayne. Nede we as some other of pistles of recommendacion vnto you? or letters of recomendacion from you?

1 Do we begin again to recommend ourselves, except we need, as some, letters of recommendation unto you, or from you?

1 Do we begin again to recommend ourselves, except we need, as some, letters of recommendation to you, or from you?

1 Begynne we then agayne to prayse or selues? Or nede we (as some other) of pistles of commedacion vnto you or letters of commedacion from you?

1 Do I begin again to commend my self? or need I, as some others, commendatory letters to you, or from you? 1-3 Does it sound like we're patting ourselves on the back, insisting on our credentials, asserting our authority? Well, we're not. Neither do we need letters of endorsement, either to you or from you. You yourselves are all the endorsement we need. Your very lives are a letter that anyone can read by just looking at you. Christ himself wrote it—not with ink, but with God's living Spirit; not chiseled into stone, but carved into human lives—and we publish it.

1 Does is seem like we are tooting our own horns so that y'all will believe we are who we say we are? Do we really need some letter of introduction or endorsement concerning the things we've done? 2 You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone.(C1) 2 Ye are our Epistle written in our hearts, knowen and read of all men.

2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: 2 (d)You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on our[a] hearts, to be known and read by all.2 (C1)You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all people, 2 You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone. 2 (C1)You are our letter of recommendation, written in our hearts, recognized and read by everyone.2 (C1)You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men;2 (C1)You are our letter, having been written in our hearts, known and read by all men,2 You yourselves are our letter, inscribed on our hearts, known and read by everyone. 2 But you are our letter, and you are in our[a] hearts for everyone to read and understand. 2 You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone.

2 *Ye* are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read of all men, 2 No, you yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts. It is known and read by all people.2 Yee are our epistle, written in our hearts, which is vnderstand, and read of all men,2 You are our epistle written in our hearts, well-known and read by all men: 2 You yourselves are the letter we have, written on our hearts for everyone to know and read. 2 You are our letter, inscribed on our hearts, known and read by all people, 2 You are our letter, having been inscribed in our hearts, being known and being read by all men, 2 Ye are our epistle, written in our hearts, known and read of all men; 2 You yourselves are our letter, whose writing is in our heart, open for every man's reading and knowledge;2 You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men; 2 You are our letter, written in our hearts and known and read by everyone.[xr] 2 But you yourselves are our epistle, written in our hearts, and known and read of every man.2 Ye are our epistle, written on our hearts, and known and read by every man.2 Ye are our epistle written in our heartes, whiche is vnderstande and read of all men:2 Ye are our epistle, written in our hearts, known and read of all men; 2 You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men; 2 Ye are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by all men:2 Our letter of recommendation is yourselves--a letter written on our hearts and everywhere known and read.2 Ye ben oure pistle, writun in oure hertis, which is knowun and red of alle men,2 You are our epistle, written in our hearts, known and read of all men;2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men: 2 You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone, 2 You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; 2 The only letter of recommendation we need is you yourselves. Your lives are a letter written in our[a] hearts; everyone can read it and recognize our good work among you. 2 You are our letter. You are written in our hearts. You are known and read by all men. 2 You yourselves are our letter, written on our[a] hearts, to be known and read by all; 2 Our letter, ye, are, inscribed in our hearts, noted and read by all men:2 You are our epistle, written in our hearts, which is known and read by all men:2 You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on your hearts, to be known and read by all men;2 Ye are oure pistle written in oure hertes which is vnderstonde and reed of all men2 our letter ye are, having been written in our hearts, known and read by all men,2 You are our letter, having been written in our hearts, known and read by all men,2 Ye are oure epistle wrytten in oure hertes: which is vnderstonde and red of all me,2 you are my epistle, your conversion being writ in. my heart, known and read by all men: 2 Nope! Y'all are our letter of recognition that has been read by everyone. 3 You show that you are Christ’s letter,(C1) delivered(F1) by us, not written with ink but with the Spirit of the living God(C2)—not on tablets of stone(C3) but on tablets of human hearts.(F2)(C4)

3 Forasmuch as yee are manifestly declared to be the Epistle of Christ ministred by vs, written not with inke, but with the spirit of the liuing God, not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. 3 And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of (e)the living God, not on (f)tablets of stone but on (g)tablets of (h)human hearts.[b]3 revealing yourselves, that you are a letter of Christ, (F1)(C1)delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of (C2)the living God, not on (C3)tablets of stone but on (C4)tablets of (F2)(C5)human hearts.

3 You show that you are a letter from Christ sent through us. This letter is not written with ink but with the Spirit of the living God. It is not written on stone tablets[a] but on human hearts.3 You show that you are a letter from Christ, (C1)delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the (C2)living God, not on (C3)tablets of stone but on (C4)tablets of (C5)human hearts. (VR1)

3 being manifested that you are a letter of Christ, (F1)(C1)cared for by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of (C2)the living God, not on (C3)tablets of stone but on (C4)tablets of (F2)(C5)human hearts.

3 being manifested that you are a letter of Christ, (C1)ministered to by us, having been written not with ink but with the Spirit of (C2)the living God, not on (C3)tablets of stone but on (C4)tablets of hearts of (C5)flesh.

3 It is clear that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. 3 You are like a letter written by Christ and delivered by us. But you are not written with pen and ink or on tablets made of stone. You are written in our hearts by the Spirit of the living God. 3 You make it clear that you are a letter from the Messiah placed in our care, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on stone tablets but on human hearts.

3 being manifested to be Christ's epistle ministered by us, written, not with ink, but [the] Spirit of [the] living God; not on stone tables, but on fleshy tables of [the] heart. 3 You show that you are a letter from Christ that he sent through us. This letter is not written with ink but with the Spirit of the living God. It is not written on stone[a] tablets but on human hearts.3 In that yee are manifest, to be the Epistle of Christ, ministred by vs, and written, not with yncke, but with the Spirite of the liuing God, not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart.3 For you are known to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the spirit of the Living God; not on tablets of stone, but on tablets of the living heart. 3 (a)It is clear that Christ himself wrote this letter and sent it by us. It is written, not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, and not on stone tablets but on human hearts. 3 revealing that you are a letter of Christ, delivered by us, inscribed not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on stone tablets but on tablets of human hearts.3 it having been made plain that you are Christ's letter, served by us, not having been inscribed by ink, but by the Spirit of the living God, not in tablets of stone, but in fleshly tablets of the heart. 3 being made manifest that ye are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in tables that are hearts of flesh. 3 For you are clearly a letter of Christ, the fruit of our work, recorded not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in stone, but in hearts of flesh.3 being revealed that you are a letter of Messiah, ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tablets of stone, but in tablets that are hearts of flesh. 3 You are demonstrating that you are Christ's letter, produced by our service, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.[xr] 3 For you know that you are an epistle of the Meshiha, who hath been ministered by us; written, not with ink but by the Spirit of Aloha the Living; not on tablets of stone, but on the fleshly tablets of the heart.3 For ye know that ye are an epistle of the Messiah, ministered by us; not written with ink, but by the Spirit of the living God; not on tables of stone, but on the tablets of the heart of flesh.3 Forasmuche as ye declare that ye are the epistle of Christ ministred by vs, and written, not with ynke, but with the spirite of the lyuyng God, not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart.3 being made manifest that ye are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in tables [that are] hearts of flesh. 3 being revealed that you are a letter of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tablets of stone, but in tablets that are hearts of flesh. 3 Manifestly declared to be the letter of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, not in tables of stone, but in the fleshly tables of the heart.3 For all can see that you are a letter of Christ entrusted to our care, and written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the ever-living God--and not on tablets of stone, but on human hearts as tablets.3 and maad opyn, for ye ben the pistle of Crist mynystrid of vs, and writun, not with enke, but bi the spirit of the lyuynge God; not in stony tablis, but in fleischli tablis of herte.3 being made manifest that you are an epistle of Christ, served by us, not written with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in tables [that are] hearts of flesh.3 [Forasmuch as ye are] manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not on tables of stone, but on fleshly tables of the heart. 3 revealing that you are a letter of Christ, delivered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on stone tablets but on tablets of human hearts.3 clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart. 3 Clearly, you are a letter from Christ showing the result of our ministry among you. This "letter" is written not with pen and ink, but with the Spirit of the living God. It is carved not on tablets of stone, but on human hearts. 3 You are as a letter from Christ written by us. You are not written as other letters are written with ink, or on pieces of stone. You are written in human hearts by the Spirit of the living God. 3 and you show that you are a letter of Christ, prepared by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.3 Manifesting yourselves that ye are a letter of Christ, ministered by us, - inscribed - not with ink, but with the Spirit of a Living God, not in tablets of stone, but in tablets which are hearts of flesh. 3 Being manifested, that you are the epistle of Christ, ministered by us, and written: not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God: not in tables of stone but in the fleshly tables of the heart.3 and you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.3 in that ye are knowen how that ye are the pistle of Christ ministred by vs and written not with ynke: but with the sprete of the livynge God not in tables of stone but in flesshly tables of ye herte.3 manifested that ye are a letter of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, not in the tablets of stone, but in fleshy tablets of the heart,3 revealed that you are a letter of Christ ministered by us, not written with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, not in the tablets of stone, but in fleshy tablets of the heart,3 in that ye are knowne, how that ye are ye epistle of Christ, mynistred by vs, and wrytte, not with ynke, but with the sprete of the lyuynge God: not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the hert.3 which shows you to be the epistle of Christ, written by my ministration, not with ink, but with the spirit of the living God; not on tables of stone, but on living tables of the heart. 3 That's right, y'all are a living letter, written not with quill and ink, but with the Holy Spirit. This new letter wasn't written on stone tablets like the first one, but rather on human hearts by the Spirit of God.

Paul’s Competence

4 Such is the confidence we have through Christ before God. 4 And such trust haue wee through Christ to Godward:

4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:

4 (i)Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God.

4 Such is the (C1)confidence we have toward God through Christ.

4 We can say this, because through Christ we feel certain before God.

4 Such is the (C1)confidence and steadfast reliance and absolute trust that we have through Christ toward God.

4 Such (C1)confidence we have through Christ toward God.

4 And such (C1)confidence we have through Christ toward God.4 Such confidence before God is ours through Christ.

4 We are sure about all this. Christ makes us sure in the very presence of God.

4 Such is the confidence we have through the Messiah toward God.

4 And such confidence have we through the Christ towards God:

4 We can say this, because through Christ we feel sure before God.4 And such trust haue we through Christ to God:4 Such is the trust that we have through Christ toward God.

4 We say this because we have confidence in God through Christ.

4 Now we possess such confidence through Christ toward God. 4 And we have such confidence through Christ toward God; 4 And such confidence have we through Christ to God-ward: 4 And this is the certain faith which we have in God through Christ:4 Such confidence we have through Messiah toward God; 4 Such is the confidence that we have in God through Christ. 4 BUT such confidence we have through the Meshiha toward Aloha.4 And such confidence have we in the Messiah towards God.4 Such trust haue we through Christe to Godwarde.4 And such confidence have we through Christ to God–ward: 4 Such confidence we have through Christ toward God; 4 Such trust have we in God through Christ.4 Such is the confidence which we have through Christ in the presence of God;4 For we han such trist bi Crist to God;4 And such confidence we have through Christ toward God:4 And such trust we have through Christ toward God.

4 Now we have such confidence in God through Christ. 4 And we have such trust through Christ toward God.

4 We are confident of all this because of our great trust in God through Christ. 4 We can say these things because of our faith in God through Christ.

4 Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. 4 But, such confidence as this, have we, through the Christ, towards God.4 And such confidence we have, through Christ, towards God.4 Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God.4 Suche trust have we thorow Christ to god ward4 and such trust we have through the Christ toward God,4 and such trust we have through the Christ toward God,4 Soch trust haue we thorow Christ to God warde,4 It is by Christ that I have this confidence in God. 4-6 We couldn't be more sure of ourselves in this—that you, written by Christ himself for God, are our letter of recommendation. We wouldn't think of writing this kind of letter about ourselves. Only God can write such a letter. His letter authorizes us to help carry out this new plan of action. The plan wasn't written out with ink on paper, with pages and pages of legal footnotes, killing your spirit. It's written with Spirit on spirit, his life on our lives!

4 We can say this proudly because of our never-ending trust in God through Jesus Christ. 5 It is not that we are competent in(F1) ourselves to claim anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God.(C1) 5 Not that wee are sufficient of our selues to thinke any thing as of our selues: but our sufficiencie is of God:

5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; 5 (j)Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but (k)our sufficiency is from God,5 Not that we are adequate in ourselves so as to consider anything as having come from ourselves, but (C1)our adequacy is from God, 5 We are not saying that we can do this work ourselves. It is God who makes us able to do all that we do. 5 Not that we are sufficiently qualified in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but (C1)our sufficiency and qualifications come from God.5 Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but (C1)our adequacy is from God,5 Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but (C1)our sufficiency is from God,5 Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim that anything comes from us, but our competence comes from God. 5 We don't have the right to claim that we have done anything on our own. God gives us what it takes to do all that we do. 5 It is not that we are competent in ourselves to count anything as having come from us; on the contrary, our competence is from God.

5 not that we are competent of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves, but our competency [is] of God; 5 I don't mean that we are able to do anything good ourselves. It is God who makes us able to do all that we do.5 Not that we are sufficient of our selues, to thinke any thing, as of our selues: but our sufficiencie is of God,5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our strength comes from God, 5 There is nothing in us that allows us to claim that we are capable of doing this work. The capacity we have comes from God; 5 Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, 5 not that we are sufficient of ourselves to reason out anything as being out of ourselves, but our sufficiency is of God, 5 not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God; 5 Not as if we were able by ourselves to do anything for which we might take the credit; but our power comes from God;5 not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God; 5 By ourselves we are not qualified to claim that anything comes from us. Rather, our credentials come from God,[xr] 5 For we are not sufficient to think any thing as of ourselves; but our power is from Aloha,5 Not that we are sufficient to think any thing as of ourselves; but our efficiency is from God:5 Not that we are sufficiet of our selues to thynke any thyng as of our selues: but our ablenesse is of God,5 not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God; 5 not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God; 5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to think any thing as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God:5 not that of ourselves we are competent to decide anything by our own reasonings, but our competency comes from God.5 not that we ben sufficient to thenke ony thing of vs, as of vs, but oure sufficience is of God.5 not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God;5 Not that we are sufficient by ourselves to think any thing as from ourselves; but our sufficiency [is] from God; 5 Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as if it were coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, 5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, 5 It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God. 5 We know we are not able in ourselves to do any of this work. God makes us able to do these things. 5 Not that we are competent of ourselves to claim anything as coming from us; our competence is from God, 5 Not that, of our own selves, sufficient, are we, to reckon anything as of ourselves, but, our sufficiency, is of God; - 5 Not that we are sufficient to think any thing of ourselves, as of ourselves: but our sufficiency is from God.5 Not that we are competent of ourselves to claim anything as coming from us; our competence is from God,5 not that we are sufficient of oure selves to thinke enythinge as it were of oure selves: but oure ablenes cometh of God5 not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything, as of ourselves, but our sufficiency [is] of God,5 not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything, as of ourselves, but our sufficiency [is] of God,5 not that we are sufficient of oure selues to thynke eny thinge, as of oure selues, but oure ablenesse commeth of God,5 not that I am sufficient of myself to effect any thing by the strength of my own reason: but my sufficiency is from God. 5 Now we know we ain't qualified or worthy of this task, but we tell you it is God working through us that allows all these good works. 6 He has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant,(C1) not of the letter,(C2) but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

6 Who also hath made vs able ministers of the New Testament, not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giueth life.

6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 6 who has made us sufficient to be (l)ministers of (m)a new covenant, not of (n)the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but (o)the Spirit gives life.6 who also made us adequate as (C1)servants of a (C2)new covenant, not of (C3)the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but (C4)the Spirit gives life.

6 He made us able to be servants of a new agreement from himself to his people. This new agreement is not a written law, but it is of the Spirit. The written law brings death, but the Spirit gives life.6 He has qualified us making us sufficient as (C1)ministers of a (C2)new covenant of salvation through Christ, not of (C3)the letter of a written code but of the Spirit; for the letter of the Law kills by revealing sin and demanding obedience, but (C4)the Spirit gives life. (VR1)

6 who also made us adequate as (C1)servants of a (C2)new covenant, not of (C3)the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but (C4)the Spirit gives life.

6 who also made us sufficient as (C1)ministers of a (C2)new covenant, not of (C3)the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but (C4)the Spirit gives life.

6 And He has qualified us as ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

The Glory of the New Covenant

(Exodus 34:29-35 6 He makes us worthy to be the servants of his new agreement that comes from the Holy Spirit and not from a written Law. After all, the Law brings death, but the Spirit brings life. 6 He has even made us competent to be workers serving a New Covenant, the essence of which is not a written text but the Spirit. For the written text brings death, but the Spirit gives life.
