1 When King Jehoshaphat of Judah became rich and famous, he arranged a marriage between a member of his family and the family of King Ahab of Israel.

1 And it came to pass, when Jehoshaphat had riches and honour, in abundance, that he contracted, by marriage, affinity with Ahab.
1 Now Josaphat was rich and very glorious, and was joined by affinity to Achab.
1 Now Jehosh'aphat had great riches and honor; and he made a marriage alliance with Ahab.

1 And Jehoshaphat has riches and honor in abundance, and joins affinity to Ahab,1-3 But even though Jehoshaphat was very rich and much honored, he made a marriage alliance with Ahab of Israel. Some time later he paid a visit to Ahab at Samaria. Ahab celebrated his visit with a feast—a huge barbecue with all the lamb and beef you could eat. But Ahab had a hidden agenda; he wanted Jehoshaphat's support in attacking Ramoth Gilead. Then Ahab brought it into the open: "Will you join me in attacking Ramoth Gilead?" Jehoshaphat said, "You bet. I'm with you all the way; you can count on me and my troops."

Ahab sacrificed many sheep, goats, and cattle for him and for the people who were with him. Then he persuaded him to attack Ramoth-gilead, 2 After certain years he went down to Ach'av to Shomron. Ach'av killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people who were with him, and moved him to go up [with him] to Ramot-Gil`ad.
2 And after certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that he had with him, and persuaded him to go up with him to Ramothgilead. 2 (c)After some years he went down to Ahab in Samaria. And Ahab killed an abundance of sheep and oxen for him and for the people who were with him, and induced him to go up against Ramoth-gilead. 2 A few years later Jehoshaphat went to visit Ahab in Samaria. Ahab sacrificed many sheep and cattle as a great feast to honor Jehoshaphat and the people with him. He encouraged Jehoshaphat to attack Ramoth in Gilead. 2 and after several years went down to visit Ahab in Samaria. Ahab slaughtered many sheep and cattle to honor Jehoshaphat and those who came with him. He persuaded him to join in an attack against Ramoth Gilead. 2 (C1)Some years later he went down to visit Ahab in Samaria. And Ahab slaughtered many sheep and oxen for him and the people who were with him, and induced him to go up against Ramoth-gilead.2 (C1)Some years later he went down to visit Ahab at Samaria, and Ahab slaughtered many sheep and oxen for him and the people who were with him. And he incited him to go up against Ramoth-gilead.2 After certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people who were with him, and moved him to go up [with him] to Ramoth-gilead. 2 And after certaine yeeres he went downe to Ahab to Samaria: and Ahab slew sheepe and oxen for him in great nomber, and for the people that he had with him, and entised him to goe vp vnto Ramoth Gilead.2 (C1)And some years later he went down to Ahab at Samaria. And Ahab sacrificed sheep and oxen in abundance for him and the people who were with him, and incited him to go up against Ramoth-gilead.2 And some years later he went down to visit Ahab in Samaria, where Ahab sacrificed many sheep and cattle for him and the people with him, and urged him to march up to Ramoth-gilead.
2 One day, Jehoshaphat went to visit Ahab in his capital city of Samaria. Ahab slaughtered sheep and cattle and prepared a big feast to honor Jehoshaphat and the officials with him. Ahab talked about attacking the city of Ramoth in Gilead,[a] 2 After some years he went down to Ach'av in Shomron. Ach'av slaughtered sheep and oxen in abundance for him and the people with him, and persuaded him to go up with him to Ramot-Gil‘ad.
2 And after [certain] years he went down to Ahab, to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that were with him, and urged him to go up against Ramoth-Gilead. 2 A few years later, Jehoshaphat visited Ahab in the town of Samaria. Ahab sacrificed many sheep and cattle for Jehoshaphat and the people with him. Ahab encouraged Jehoshaphat to join in an attack on the city of Ramoth Gilead.2 And after two years he went down to Ahab in Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the armed forces that were with him, and advised him to go up to Ramath-gilead. 2 A number of years later Jehoshaphat went to the city of Samaria to visit Ahab. To honor Jehoshaphat and those with him, Ahab had a large number of sheep and cattle slaughtered for a feast. He tried to persuade Jehoshaphat to join him in attacking the city of Ramoth in Gilead. 2 And after some years[a] he went down to Ahab in Samaria. And Ahab slaughtered many sheep and cattle for him and for the people who were with him, and urged him to go up against Ramoth-Gilead. 2 And at the end of years, he went down to Ahab, to Samaria. And Ahab sacrificed sheep and oxen in abundance for him, and for the people with him. And he persuaded him to go up to Ramoth-gilead.2 And after two yeares wente he downe to Achab vnto Samaria. And Achab caused many shepe and oxe to be slayne for him and for ye people that were with him. And he counceled him to go vp vnto Ramoth in Gilead. 2 And after certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that were with him, and moved him to go up with him to Ramoth-gilead. 2 And after some years he went down to Samaria to see Ahab. And Ahab made a feast for him and the people who were with him, putting to death great numbers of sheep and oxen; and he got Jehoshaphat to go with him to Ramoth-gilead.2 And after certayne yeres he went downe to Ahab to Samaria: And Ahab slue many sheepe and oxen for him and for the people that he had with him, and entreated him to go vp with him vnto Ramoth [in] Gilead.2 And after a lapse of years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that were with him, and persuaded him to go up with him to Ramoth-gilead.2 And after certaine yeeres, he went downe to Ahab to Samaria: and Ahab killed sheepe and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that he had with him, and perswaded him to goe vp with him to Ramoth Gilead. 2 And he went down after a term of years to Achaab to Samaria: and Achaab slew for him sheep and calves, in abundance, and for the people with him, and he much desired him to go up with him to Ramoth of the country of Galaad. 2 And after certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that were with him, and moved him to go up [with him] to Ramoth–gilead. 2 And aftir yeeris he cam doun to hym in to Samarie; at whos comyng Achab killide ful many wetheris and oxis, and to the puple that cam with hym; and he counseilide hym to stie in to Ramoth of Galaad.2 And after certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that were with him, and moved him to go up [with him] to Ramoth-gilead.2 And after [certain] years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that [he had] with him, and persuaded him to go up [with him] to Ramoth-gilead.2 After some years he went down to visit Ahab in Samaria; and Ahab killed sheep and oxen in abundance for him and the people who were with him, and persuaded him to go up with him to Ramoth Gilead. 2 A few years later he went to Samaria to visit Ahab, who prepared a great banquet for him and his officials. They butchered great numbers of sheep, goats, and cattle for the feast. Then Ahab enticed Jehoshaphat to join forces with him to recover Ramoth-gilead. 2 After some years he went down to visit Ahab at Samaria. Ahab killed many sheep and cattle for him and for the people who were with him. And he wanted Jehoshaphat to fight against Ramoth-gilead. 2 After some years he went down to Ahab in Samaria. Ahab slaughtered an abundance of sheep and oxen for him and for the people who were with him, and induced him to go up against Ramoth-gilead. 2 So he went down, at the end of some years, unto Ahab, to Samaria, Ahab therefore sacrificed for him, sheep and oxen, in abundance, also for the people whom he had with him,-and then persuaded him to go up against Ramoth-gilead.2 And he went down to him after some years to Samaria: and Achab at his coming killed sheep and oxen in abundance for him and the people that came with him: and he persuaded him to go up to Ramoth Galaad.2 After some years he went down to Ahab in Sama'ria. And Ahab killed an abundance of sheep and oxen for him and for the people who were with him, and induced him to go up against Ramoth-gilead.2 and goeth down at the end of [certain] years unto Ahab to Samaria, and Ahab sacrificeth for him sheep and oxen in abundance, and for the people who [are] with him, and persuadeth him to go up unto Ramoth-Gilead.2 and goes down at the end of [certain] years to Samaria to [visit] Ahab, and Ahab sacrifices sheep and oxen in abundance for him and for the people who [are] with him, and persuades him to go up to Ramoth-Gilead.2 (C1)Some years later he went down to visit Ahab at Samaria. And Ahab slaughtered many sheep and oxen for him and the people who were with him, and induced him to go up against Ramoth-gilead.3 for Israel’s King Ahab asked Judah’s King Jehoshaphat, “Will you go with me to Ramoth-gilead?”
3 Ach'av king of Yisra'el said to Yehoshafat king of Yehudah, Will you go with me to Ramot-Gil`ad? He answered him, I am as you are, and my people as your people; and [we will be] with you in the war.3 And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramothgilead? And he answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people; and we will be with thee in the war. 3 Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, "Will you go with me to Ramoth-gilead?" He answered him, "I am as you are, my people as your people. We will be with you in the war." 3 Ahab king of Israel asked Jehoshaphat king of Judah, "Will you go with me to attack Ramoth in Gilead?"
Jehoshaphat answered, "I will go with you, and my soldiers are yours. We will join you in the battle." 3 King Ahab of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "Will you go with me to attack Ramoth Gilead?" Jehoshaphat replied to the king of Israel, "I will support you; my army is at your disposal and will support you in battle." 3 Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, "Will you go with me to fight against Ramoth-gilead?" He answered, "I am as you are, and my people as your people your hopes and concerns are ours; we will be with you in the battle."
3 Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, "Will you go with me against Ramoth-gilead?" And he said to him, "I am as you are, and my people as your people, and we will be with you in the battle."3 Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Will you go with me to Ramoth-gilead? He answered him, I am as you are, and my people as your people; and [we will be] with you in the war. 3 And Ahab King of Israel saide vnto Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, Wilt thou goe with mee to Ramoth Gilead? And hee answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people, and wee will ioyne with thee in the warre.3 And Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, "Will you go with me against Ramoth-gilead?" And he said to him, "I am as you are, and my people as your people, and we will be with you in the battle."3 Ahab king of Israel asked Jehoshaphat king of Judah, “Will you go with me against Ramoth-gilead?” And Jehoshaphat replied, “I am as you are, and my people as your people; we will join you in the war.” 3 and finally asked, "Jehoshaphat, would you go with me to attack Ramoth?""Yes," Jehoshaphat answered. "My army is at your command. 3 Ach'av king of Isra'el said to Y'hoshafat king of Y'hudah, "Will you go with me to Ramot-Gil‘ad?" He answered him, "I'm with you all the way; think of my troops as yours; we will join you in this war."
3 And Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramoth-Gilead? And he said to him, I am as thou, and my people as thy people; and [I will be] with thee in the war. 3 Ahab said to Jehoshaphat, "Will you go with me to attack Ramoth Gilead?" Ahab was the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat was the king of Judah. Jehoshaphat answered, "Yes, you and I will be as one—my men will be as yours in battle.3 And Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Will you go up with me to Ramath-gilead? And he answered him, I will go up as you do; and my people are as your people; and my horses as your horses, and we will go with you to war. 3 He asked, "Will you go with me to attack Ramoth?"
Jehoshaphat replied, "I am ready when you are, and so is my army. We will join you." 3 And Ahab the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, "Will you go up with me to Ramoth-Gilead?" And he answered him, "I am as you are, and my people are as your people with you in war."3 And Ahab the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, Will you go with me to Ramoth-gilead? And he said to him, As I am , so are you; and as your people, so my people, even with you in battle.3 And Achab the kynge of Israel sayde vnto Iosaphat the kynge of Iuda: Go with me vnto Ramoth in Gilead. He sayde vnto him: I am as thou, and my people as thy people, we wyll go with the vnto the battayll. 3 And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramoth-gilead? And he answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people; and we will be with thee in the war.3 For Ahab, king of Israel, said to Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, Will you go with me to Ramoth-gilead? And he said, I am as you are, and my people as your people; we will be with you in the war.3 And Ahab king of Israel saide vnto Iehosaphat king of Iuda: wylt thou go with me to Ramoth [in] Gilead? And he aunswered him: I wyll be as thou, and my people shall be as thyne [and we wyll go] with thee to the warre.3 And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah: 'Wilt thou go with me to Ramoth-gilead?' And he answered him: 'I am as thou art, and my people as thy people; and we will be with thee in the war.'3 And Ahab king of Israel said vnto Iehoshaphat king of Iudah, Wilt thou goe with me to Ramoth Gilead? And he answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people, and we will be with thee in the warre. 3 And Achaab king of Israel said to Josaphat king of Juda, Wilt thou go with me to Ramoth of the country of Galaad? And he said to him, As I am, so also art thou, as thy people, so also is my people with thee for the war.3 And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramoth–gilead? And he answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people; and [we will be] with thee in the war. 3 And Achab, the kyng of Israel, seide to Josaphat, kyng of Juda, Come thou with me in to Ramoth of Galaad. To whom he answeride, As and Y am, thou art; as thi puple, so and my puple; and we schulen be with thee in batel.3 And Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Will you go with me to Ramoth-gilead? And he answered him, I am as you are, and my people as your people; and [we will be] with you in the war.3 And Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramoth-gilead? And he answered him, I [am] as thou [art], and my people as thy people; and [we will be] with thee in the war.3 So Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, "Will you go with me against Ramoth Gilead?" And he answered him, "I am as you are, and my people as your people; we will be with you in the war."
3 "Will you go with me to Ramoth-gilead?" King Ahab of Israel asked King Jehoshaphat of Judah.
Jehoshaphat replied, "Why, of course! You and I are as one, and my troops are your troops. We will certainly join you in battle." 3 King Ahab of Israel said to King Jehoshaphat of Judah, "Will you go with me against Ramoth-gilead?" He answered, "I am as you are. And my people are as your people. We will be with you in the battle." 3 King Ahab of Israel said to King Jehoshaphat of Judah, "Will you go with me to Ramoth-gilead?" He answered him, "I am with you, my people are your people. We will be with you in the war."3 For Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go up with me to Ramoth-gilead? And he said unto him - So am I, even as thou, and, like thy people, are my people, and, with thee, in the war.3 And Achab king of Israel said to Josaphat king of Juda: Come with me to Ramoth Galaad. And he answered him: Thou art as I am, and my people as thy people, and we will be with thee in the war.3 Ahab king of Israel said to Jehosh'aphat king of Judah, "Will you go with me to Ramoth-gilead?" He answered him, "I am as you are, my people as your people. We will be with you in the war."3 And Ahab king of Israel saith unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, `Dost thou go with me [to] Ramoth-Gilead?' And he saith to him, `As I -- so thou, and as thy people -- my people, even with thee in battle.'3 And Ahab king of Israel says to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, "Do you go with me [to] Ramoth-Gilead?" And he says to him, "As I—so you, and as your people—my people, and [we go] with you into the battle."3 Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, "Will you go with me against Ramoth-gilead?" And he said to him, "I am as you are, and my people as your people, and we will be with you in the battle."
He replied to him, “I am as you are, my people as your people; we will be with you in the battle.” 4 But Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “First, please ask what the Lord’s will is.”
4 Yehoshafat said to the king of Yisra'el, Please inquire first for the word of the LORD.
4 And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the Lord to day.
4 And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, "Inquire first for the word of the Lord." 4 Jehoshaphat also said to Ahab, "But first we should ask if this is the Lord's will." 4 Then Jehoshaphat added, "First seek an oracle from the Lord."
4 Further, Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, "Please inquire (F1)first for the word of the LORD."
4 However, Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, "Please request the word of the LORD (F1)first."
4 Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, Please inquire first for the word of Yahweh.
4 And Iehoshaphat sayde vnto the King of Israel, Aske counsel, I pray thee, at the worde of the Lord this day.
4 Moreover, Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, "Please inquire (F1)first for the word of Yahweh."
4 But Jehoshaphat also said to the king of Israel, “Please inquire first for the word of the LORD.” 4 But first let's ask the Lord what to do." 4 But Y'hoshafat said to the king of Isra'el, "First, we should seek the word of Adonai."
4 And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, Inquire, I pray thee, this day of the word of Jehovah. 4 But first let's ask the Lord for advice."
4 And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, Inquire, I pray, for the word of the LORD today. 4 Then he added, "But first let's consult the Lord."
4 Then Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, "Seek first of all[b] the word of Yahweh."
4 And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, Please seek the Word of Jehovah today.
4 But Iosaphat sayde vnto the kynge of Israel: Axe councell (I praye the) this daye at the worde of the LORDE.
4 And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Inquire [a]first, I pray thee, for the word of Jehovah.
4 Then Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, Let us now get directions from the Lord.
4 And Iehosaphat saide vnto the king of Israel: Seke counsel I pray thee at the worde of the Lorde this same day.
4 And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel: 'Inquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD today.'
4 And Iehoshaphat saide vnto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the Lord to day.
4 And Josaphat said to the king of Israel, Seek, I pray thee, the Lord to-day.
4 And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel; Inquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD today.
4 And Josaphat seide to the kyng of Israel, Y biseche, counsele thou in present tyme the word of the Lord.
4 And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, Inquire first, I pray you, for the word of Yahweh.
4 And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, Inquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to-day.
4 Also Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, "Please inquire for the word of the LORD today." 4 Then Jehoshaphat added, "But first let's find out what the Lord says."
4 Then Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, "Ask first for word from the Lord."
4 But Jehoshaphat also said to the king of Israel, "Inquire first for the word of the Lord."
4 Then said Jehoshaphat, unto the king of Israel, - Seek, I pray thee, some time to-day, the word of Yahweh.
4 And Josaphat said to the king of Israel: Inquire, I beseech thee, at present the word of the Lord.
4 And Jehosh'aphat said to the king of Israel, "Inquire first for the word of the LORD."
4 And Jehoshaphat saith unto the king of Israel, `Seek, I pray thee, this day, the word of Jehovah.'
4 And Jehoshaphat says to the king of Israel, "Please seek the word of YHWH this day."
4 Then Jehoshaphat said, "But before you do anything, ask God for guidance."
4 Moreover, Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, "Please inquire (F1)first for the word of the LORD."
5 So the king of Israel gathered the prophets, four hundred men, and asked them, “Should we go to Ramoth-gilead for war or should I refrain?”
5 Then the king of Yisra'el gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said to them, Shall we go to Ramot-Gil`ad to battle, or shall I forbear? They said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the hand of the king.5 Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the king's hand. 5 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said to them, "Shall we go to battle against Ramoth-gilead, or shall I refrain?" And they said, "Go up, for God will give it into the hand of the king."
5 So King Ahab called four hundred prophets together and asked them, "Should we go to war against Ramoth in Gilead or not?"
They answered, "Go, because God will hand them over to you." 5 So the king of Israel assembled 400 prophets and asked them, "Should we attack Ramoth Gilead or not?" They said, "Attack! God will hand it over to the king." 5 Then the king of Israel assembled the prophets, four hundred men, and said to them, "Shall we go against Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I refrain?" And they said, "Go up, for God will hand it over to the king."5 So the king of Israel assembled the (F1)prophets, four hundred men, and said to them, "Should we go to battle against Ramoth-gilead, or should I refrain?" And they said, "Go up, for God will hand it over to the king."5 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said to them, Shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? They said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the hand of the king. 5 Therefore the King of Israel gathered of Prophets foure hundreth men, and sayde vnto them, Shall we goe to Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall I cease? And they sayd, Go vp: for God shall deliuer it into the Kings hand.5 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets, four hundred men, and said to them, "Shall we go against Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I refrain?" And they said, "Go up, for God will give it into the hand of the king."5 So the king of Israel assembled the prophets, four hundred men, and asked them, “Should we go to war against Ramoth-gilead, or should we refrain?” “Go up,” they replied, “and God will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
5 Ahab sent for four hundred prophets and asked, "Should I attack the city of Ramoth?"
"Yes!" the prophets answered. "God will help you capture the city."
5 So the king of Isra'el assembled the prophets, 400 men. "Should we attack Ramot-Gil‘ad?" he asked them, "Or should I hold off?" They said, "Attack. God will hand it over to the king."
5 And the king of Israel assembled the prophets, four hundred men, and said to them, Shall we go against Ramoth-Gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up, and God will give it into the king's hand.
5 So Ahab called a meeting of the prophets. There were about 400 prophets at that time. Ahab asked the prophets, "Should we go and attack Ramoth Gilead or not?"
The prophets answered Ahab, "Yes, because God will let you defeat Ramoth Gilead."5 Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of the prophets four hundred men, and said to them, Shall we go to Ramath-gilead to battle or shall I forbear? And they said to him, Go up; for the LORD will deliver your enemies into your hands.
5 So Ahab called in the prophets, about four hundred of them, and asked them, "Should I go and attack Ramoth, or not?"
"Attack it," they answered. "God will give you victory." 5 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets, four hundred men. And he said to them, "Shall we go to Ramoth-Gilead to battle, or shall we cease?" And they said, "Go up, since God will give it into the hand of the king." 5 And the king of Israel gathered the prophets, four hundred men. And he said to them, Shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up, and God will give it into the king's hand.5 And the kynge of Israel gathered the prophetes together, euen foure hundreth men, & saide vnto them: Shal we go to the battayll vnto Ramoth in Gilead, or shal I let it alone? They sayde: Go vp, God shal delyuer it into the kynges hade. 5 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the hand of the king. 5 So the king of Israel got together all the prophets, four hundred men, and said to them, Am I to go to Ramoth-gilead to make war or not? And they said, Go up: for God will give it into the hands of the king.5 Therfore the king of Israel gathered together of prophetes foure hundred men, & saide vnto them: Shall we go to Ramoth [in] Gilead to fight, or should I ceasse? And they saide: Go vp, & God shall deliuer it into the kinges hand.5 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said unto them: 'Shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?' And they said: 'Go up; for God will deliver it into the hand of the king.'5 Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets foure hundred men, and said vnto them, Shal we goe to Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shal I forbeare? And they said, Goe vp, for God will deliuer it into the kings hand. 5 And the king of Israel gathered the prophets, four hundred men, and said to them, Shall I go to Ramoth Galaad to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up, and God shall deliver it into the hands of the king. 5 When the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramoth–gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God shall deliver it into the hand of the king. 5 Therfor the kyng of Israel gaderide togidere foure hundrid `men of prophetis, and seide to hem, Owen we to go in to Ramath of Galaad for to fiyte, ethir `take reste? And thei seiden, Stie ye, and God schal bitake in the hond of the king.5 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said to them, Shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the hand of the king.5 Therefore the king of Israel collected of prophets four hundred men, and said to them, Shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver [it] into the king's hand.5 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said to them, "Shall we go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or shall I refrain?" So they said, "Go up, for God will deliver it into the king's hand."
5 So the king of Israel summoned the prophets, 400 of them, and asked them, "Should we go to war against Ramoth-gilead, or should I hold back?"
They all replied, "Yes, go right ahead! God will give the king victory." 5 So the king of Israel gathered together the 400 men who told what would happen in the future. He said to them, "Should we go to battle against Ramoth-gilead, or should I wait?" And they said, "Go up, for God will give it into the hand of the king." 5 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred of them, and said to them, "Shall we go to battle against Ramoth-gilead, or shall I refrain?" They said, "Go up; for God will give it into the hand of the king." 5 So the king of Israel gathered together the prophets, four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go up against Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said - Go up, and may God deliver it into the hand of the king!5 So the king of Israel gathered together of the prophets four hundred men, and he said to them: Shall we go to Ramoth Galaad to fight, or shall we forbear? But they said: Go up, and God will deliver into the king’s hand.5 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said to them, "Shall we go to battle against Ramoth-gilead, or shall I forbear?" And they said, "Go up; for God will give it into the hand of the king."5 And the king of Israel gathereth the prophets, four hundred men, and saith unto them, `Do we go unto Ramoth-Gilead to battle, or do I forbear?' And they say, `Go up, and God doth give [it] into the hand of the king.'5 And the king of Israel gathers the prophets, four hundred men, and says to them, "Do we go to Ramoth-Gilead to battle, or do I refrain?" And they say, "Go up, and God gives [it] into the hand of the king."
5 The king of Israel got the prophets together—all four hundred of them—and put the question to them: "Should I attack Ramoth Gilead or should I hold back?"
"Go for it," they said. "God will hand it over to the king."5 Then the king of Israel assembled the prophets, four hundred men, and said to them, "Shall we go against Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I refrain?" And they said, "Go up, for God will give it into the hand of the king."
They replied, “March up, and God will hand it over to the king.”
6 But Jehoshaphat asked, “Isn’t there a prophet of the Lord here anymore? Let’s ask him.”(C1)
6 But Yehoshafat said, Isn't there here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we may inquire of him?6 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the Lord besides, that we might enquire of him? 6 But Jehoshaphat said, "Is there not here another prophet of the Lord of whom we may inquire?"
6 But Jehoshaphat asked, "Isn't there a prophet of the Lord here? Let's ask him what we should do." 6 But Jehoshaphat asked, "Is there not a prophet of the Lord still here, that we may ask him?" 6 But Jehoshaphat said, "Is there no prophet of the LORD still here by whom we may inquire?"6 But Jehoshaphat said, "Is there no longer a prophet of the LORD here, that we may inquire of him?"6 But Jehoshaphat said, Isn't there here a prophet of Yahweh besides, that we may inquire of him? 6 But Iehoshaphat sayde, Is there heere neuer a Prophet more of the Lorde that wee might inquire of him?6 But Jehoshaphat said, "Is there not yet a prophet of Yahweh here that we may inquire of him?"6 But Jehoshaphat asked, “Is there not still a prophet of the LORD here of whom we can inquire?”
6 But Jehoshaphat said, "Just to make sure, is there another of the Lord's prophets we can ask?" 6 But Y'hoshafat said, "Besides these, isn't there a prophet of Adonai here that we can consult?"
6 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of Jehovah besides, that we might inquire of him?
6 But Jehoshaphat said, "Doesn't the Lord have another prophet here? Let's ask him what God says."6 But King Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a true prophet of the LORD, that we may inquire of him?
6 But Jehoshaphat asked, "Isn't there another prophet through whom we can consult the Lord?" 6 Then Jehoshaphat said, "Is there not here another prophet of Yahweh that we might inquire of him?" 6 And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not a prophet of Jehovah still here, and we shall seek from him?6 But Iosaphat sayde: Is there not yet one prophet of the LORDE here, yt we maye axe at him? 6 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of Jehovah besides, that we may inquire of him? 6 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there no other prophet of the Lord here from whom we may get directions?6 But Iehosaphat saide: Is there yet here neuer a prophete more of the Lordes, that we myght aske of him?6 But Jehoshaphat said: 'Is there not here besides a prophet of the LORD, that we might inquire of him?'6 But Iehoshaphat saide, Is there not here a Prophet of the Lord besides, that we might enquire of him? 6 And Josaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the Lord besides, that we may enquire of him? 6 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here besides a prophet of the LORD, that we might inquire of him? 6 And Josaphat seide, Whether no profete of the Lord is here, that we `axe also of hym?6 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of Yahweh besides, that we may inquire of him?6 But Jehoshaphat said, [Is there] not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we may inquire of him?6 But Jehoshaphat said, "Is there not still a prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of Him?" 6 But Jehoshaphat asked, "Is there not also a prophet of the Lord here? We should ask him the same question." 6 But Jehoshaphat said, "Is there not another man who speaks for the Lord here whom we may ask?" 6 But Jehoshaphat said, "Is there no other prophet of the Lord here of whom we may inquire?" 6 Then said Jehoshaphat, Is there not here a prophet of Yahweh, besides, - that we may seek, from him?6 And Josaphat said: Is there not here a prophet of the Lord, that we may inquire also of him?6 But Jehosh'aphat said, "Is there not here another prophet of the LORD of whom we may inquire?"6 And Jehoshaphat saith, `Is there not here a prophet of Jehovah still, and we seek from him?'6 And Jehoshaphat says, "[Is there] not still a prophet of YHWH here, and we seek from him?"
6 But Jehoshaphat dragged his feet, "Is there another prophet of God around here we can consult? Let's get a second opinion."6 But Jehoshaphat said, "Is there not yet a prophet of the LORD here that we may inquire of him?"
