No one fought a war with him during those years, because the Lord had given him rest. 6 He built fortified cities in Judah while the land had rest. He had no war in those years, for the Lord gave him peace. 6 And he built cities of defence, in Judah, - for the land had quiet, nor was there near him any war, in these years, because Yahweh had given him rest.6 He built also strong cities in Juda, for he was quiet, and there had no wars risen in his time, the Lord giving peace.6 He built fortified cities in Judah, for the land had rest. He had no war in those years, for the LORD gave him peace.6 And he buildeth cities of bulwarks in Judah, for the land hath quiet, and there is no war with him in these years, because Jehovah hath given rest to him.6 And he builds cities of bulwarks in Judah, for the land has quiet; and there is no war with him in these years, because YHWH has given rest to him.6 (C1)He built fortified cities in Judah, since the land was undisturbed, and (F1)there was no one at war with him during those years, (C2)because the LORD had given him rest.7 So he said to the people of Judah, “Let’s build these cities and surround them with walls and towers, with doors and bars.(C1) The land is still ours because we sought the Lord our God. We sought him and he gave us rest on every side.” So they built and succeeded.

7 For he said to Yehudah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, gates, and bars; the land is yet before us, because we have sought the LORD our God; we have sought him, and he has given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered.
