Shishak’s Invasion

1 When Rehoboam had established his sovereignty and royal power,(C1) he abandoned the law of the Lord—he and all Israel with him.

1 It happened, when the kingdom of Rechav`am was established, and he was strong, that he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Yisra'el with him.

1 And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the Lord, and all Israel with him.

1 After Rehoboam had established his sovereignty and royal power, he and all Israel(a) with him forsook the law of the LORD.

King Shishak of Egypt Invades Judah

1 Soon after Rehoboam had control of his kingdom, he and everyone in Judah stopped obeying the Lord.

1 But in time, after Rechav‘am had consolidated his rulership and had become strong, he, and with him all Isra'el, abandoned the Torah of Adonai.

1 And it came to pass when the kingdom of Rehoboam was established, and when he had become strong, [that] he forsook the law of Jehovah, and all Israel with him.

Shishak King of Egypt Attacks Jerusalem

1 Rehoboam became a strong king and made his kingdom strong. Then Rehoboam and the whole tribe of Judah[a] refused to obey the law of the Lord.

1 AND it came to pass when Rehoboam had established the kingdom and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him.

1 But when Rehoboam was firmly established and strong, he abandoned the Law of the Lord, and all Israel followed him in this sin.

1 When King Rehoboam's nation had been made strong, he and all Israel turned away from the Law of the Lord.

Egypt Attacks Judah

1 When the rule of Rehoboam was established and he grew strong, he abandoned the law of the Lord, he and all Israel with him.

1 And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of Yahweh, - and all Israel with him.

1 And when the kingdom of Roboam was strengthened and fortified, he forsook the law of the Lord, and all Israel with him.

1 When the rule of Rehobo'am was established and was strong, he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him.

1 And it cometh to pass, at the establishing of the kingdom of Rehoboam, and at his strengthening himself, he hath forsaken the law of Jehovah, and all Israel with him.

1 And it comes to pass, at the establishing of the kingdom of Rehoboam, and at his strengthening himself, he has forsaken the Law of YHWH, and all Israel with him.

1 By the time Rehoboam had secured his kingdom and was strong again, he, and all Israel with him, had virtually abandoned God and his ways.

Shishak of Egypt Invades Judah

1 (C1)When the kingdom of Rehoboam was established and strong, (C2)he and all Israel with him forsook the law of the LORD.2 Because they were unfaithful to the Lord, in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, King Shishak(C1) of Egypt went to war against Jerusalem(C2) 2 It happened in the fifth year of king Rechav`am, that Shishak king of Mitzrayim came up against Yerushalayim, because they had trespassed against the LORD,

2 And it came to pass, that in the fifth year of king Rehoboam Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the Lord, 2 (d)In the fifth year of King Rehoboam, because they had been unfaithful to the Lord, (e)Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem 2 During the fifth year Rehoboam was king, Shishak king of Egypt attacked Jerusalem, because Rehoboam and the people were unfaithful to the Lord. 2 Because they were unfaithful to the Lord, in King Rehoboam's fifth year, King Shishak of Egypt attacked Jerusalem. 2 (C1)And it came about in King Rehoboam's fifth year, because they had been unfaithful to the LORD, that (F1)(C2)Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem2 (C1)And it came about in King Rehoboam's fifth year, because they had been unfaithful to the LORD, that (C2)Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem2 It happened in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had trespassed against Yahweh, 2 Therefore in the fift yeere of King Rehoboam, Shishak the King of Egypt came vp against Ierusalem (because they had transgressed against the Lorde)2 (C1)Now it happened in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, because they had been unfaithful to Yahweh, that (C2)Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem2 In the fifth year of Rehoboam's reign, because they had been unfaithful to the LORD, Shishak king of Egypt came up and attacked Jerusalem 2 So in the fifth year of Rehoboam's rule, the Lord punished them for their unfaithfulness and allowed King Shishak of Egypt to invade Judah. 2 In the fifth year of King Rechav‘am, Shishak king of Egypt attacked Yerushalayim, because they had acted faithlessly toward Adonai.

2 And it came to pass in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, because they had transgressed against Jehovah, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem,

2 During the fifth year that Rehoboam was king, Shishak king of Egypt came to attack Jerusalem. This happened because Rehoboam and the people of Judah rebelled against the Lord.2 And it came to pass that in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the LORD, 2 In the fifth year of Rehoboam's reign their disloyalty to the Lord was punished. King Shishak of Egypt attacked Jerusalem 2 And it happened that in the fifth year of King Rehoboam (for they had acted unfaithfully against Yahweh), Shishak the king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem 2 And it happened in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, Shishak the king of Egypt came against Jerusalem because they had acted unfaithfully against Jehovah.2 And in the fyfth yeare of Roboam wete Sisack the kynge of Egipte vp agaynst Ierusalem (for they had transgressed agaynst the LORDE) 2 And it came to pass in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had trespassed against Jehovah, 2 Now in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, Shishak, king of Egypt, came up against Jerusalem, because of their sin against the Lord,2 And it fortuned, that in the fifth yere of king Rehoboam, Sesac the king of Egypt came vp against Hierusalem, because they had transgressed against the Lorde,2 And it came to pass in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had dealt treacherously with the LORD,2 And it came to passe, that in the fifth yere of Rehoboam, Shishak king of Egypt came vp against Ierusalem, ( because they had transgressed against the Lord ) 2 And it came to pass in the fifth year of the reign of Roboam, Susakim king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had sinned against the Lord, 2 And it came to pass in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had trespassed against the LORD, 2 Sotheli in the fyuethe yeer of the rewme of Roboam Sesach, the kyng of Egipt, stiede in to Jerusalem, for thei synneden ayens the Lord;2 And it came to pass in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had trespassed against Yahweh,2 And it came to pass, [that] in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the LORD,2 And it happened in the fifth year of King Rehoboam that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the LORD, 2 Because they were unfaithful to the Lord, King Shishak of Egypt came up and attacked Jerusalem in the fifth year of King Rehoboam's reign. 2 After Rehoboam had been king for five years, King Shishak of Egypt came to fight against Jerusalem. This happened because they had not been faithful to the Lord. 2 In the fifth year of King Rehoboam, because they had been unfaithful to the Lord, King Shishak of Egypt came up against Jerusalem 2 And so it came to pass, in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, - because they had dealt treacherously against Yahweh; - 2 And in the fifth year of the reign of Roboam, Sesac king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem (because they had sinned against the Lord)2 In the fifth year of King Rehobo'am, because they had been unfaithful to the LORD, Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem2 And it cometh to pass, in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, come up hath Shishak king of Egypt against Jerusalem -- because they trespassed against Jehovah --2 And it comes to pass, in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, Shishak king of Egypt has come up against Jerusalem—because they trespassed against YHWH—2-4 In Rehoboam's fifth year, because he and the people were unfaithful to God, Shishak king of Egypt invaded as far as Jerusalem. He came with twelve hundred chariots and sixty thousand cavalry, and soldiers from all over—the Egyptian army included Libyans, Sukkites, and Ethiopians. They took the fortress cities of Judah and advanced as far as Jerusalem itself.2 (C1)And it came about in King Rehoboam's fifth year, because they had been unfaithful to the LORD, that (C2)Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem3 with 1,200 chariots, 60,000 cavalrymen, and countless people who came with him from Egypt—Libyans,(C1) Sukkiim, and Cushites. 3 with twelve hundred chariots, and sixty thousand horsemen. The people were without number who came with him out of Mitzrayim: the Luvim, the Sukkiyim, and the Kushim.

3 With twelve hundred chariots, and threescore thousand horsemen: and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubims, the Sukkiims, and the Ethiopians. 3 with 1,200 chariots and 60,000 horsemen. And the people were without number who came with him from Egypt—(f)Libyans, Sukkiim, and Ethiopians. 3 Shishak had twelve hundred chariots and sixty thousand horsemen. He brought troops of Libyans, Sukkites, and Cushites from Egypt with him, so many they couldn't be counted. 3 He had 1,200 chariots, 60,000 horsemen, and an innumerable number of soldiers who accompanied him from Egypt, including Libyans, Sukkites, and Cushites. 3 with 1,200 chariots and 60,000 horsemen. The people who came with him from Egypt were beyond counting—(C1)the Lubim, the Sukkiim, and the (F1)Ethiopians.3 with 1,200 chariots and sixty thousand horsemen. And the people who came with him from Egypt were innumerable: (C1)the Lubim, the Sukkiim, and the Ethiopians.3 with twelve hundred chariots, and sixty thousand horsemen. The people were without number who came with him out of Egypt: the Lubim, the Sukkiim, and the Ethiopians. 3 With twelue hundreth charets, and three score thousande horsemen, and the people were without nomber, yt came with him from Egypt, euen the Lubims, Sukkiims, & the Ethiopians.3 with 1,200 chariots and 60,000 horsemen. And the people who came with him from Egypt were without number: (C1)the Lubim, the Sukkiim and the Ethiopians.3 with 1,200 chariots, 60,000 horsemen(a), and countless troops who came with him out of Egypt—Libyans, Sukkites, and Cushites(a). 3 Shishak attacked with his army of one thousand two hundred chariots and sixty thousand cavalry troops, as well as Egyptian soldiers from Libya, Sukkoth, and Ethiopia.[a] 3 He came out of Egypt with 1,200 chariots, 60,000 horsemen and a numberless army including Luvim, Suki'im and Ethiopians.

3 with twelve hundred chariots and sixty thousand horsemen; and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt: Libyans, Sukkites, and Ethiopians. 3 Shishak had 1200 chariots, 60,000 horse riders, and an army that no one could count. In Shishak's large army there were Libyan soldiers, Sukkite soldiers, and Ethiopian soldiers.3 With twelve hundred chariots and sixty thousand horsemen; and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubims, the Sukkiims and the Ethiopians. 3 with an army of twelve hundred chariots, sixty thousand cavalry, and more soldiers than could be counted, including Libyan, Sukkite, and Ethiopian[a] troops. 3 with one thousand two hundred chariots and sixty thousand horsemen. And there was no number to the people who came up with him from Egypt—Libyans, Sukkites, and Cushites. 3 He came with a thousand and two hundred chariots, and with sixty thousand horsemen. And there was no counting the people who came with him out of Egypt: Lubim, Sukkiim, and Ethiopians.3 with a thousande and two hundreth charettes, and with thre score thousande horsmen, and the people were innumerable that came with him out of Egipte, Libya, Suchim & out of Ethiopia, 3 with twelve hundred chariots, and threescore thousand horsemen. And the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt: the Lubim, the Sukkiim, and the Ethiopians. 3 With twelve hundred war-carriages and sixty thousand horsemen: and the people who came with him out of Egypt were more than might be numbered: Lubim and Sukkiim and Ethiopians.3 With twelue hundred charettes, and threescore thousand horsemen: And the people wer without number that came with him out of Egypt, Lubim, Suckim, and the blacke Moores.3 with twelve hundred chariots, and threescore thousand horsemen; and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubim, the Sukkiim, and the Ethiopians.3 With twelue hundred charets, and threescore thousand horsemen: and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt: the Lubims, the Sukkiims, & the Ethiopians. 3 with twelve hundred chariots, and sixty thousand horses: and there was no number of the multitude that came with him from Egypt; Libyans, Trogodytes, and Ethiopians. 3 with twelve hundred chariots, and threescore thousand horsemen: and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubim, the Sukkiim, and the Ethiopians. 3 and he stiede with a thousynde and two hundrid charys, and with sixti thousynde of horse men, and no noumbre was of the comyn puple, that cam with hym fro Egipt, that is, Libiens, and Trogoditis, and Ethiopiens.3 with twelve hundred chariots, and threescore thousand horsemen. And the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt: the Lubim, the Sukkiim, and the Ethiopians.3 With twelve hundred chariots, and sixty thousand horsemen: and the people [were] without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubims, the Sukkiims, and the Cushites.3 with twelve hundred chariots, sixty thousand horsemen, and people without number who came with him out of Egypt--the Lubim and the Sukkiim and the Ethiopians. 3 He came with 1,200 chariots, 60,000 horses,[a] and a countless army of foot soldiers, including Libyans, Sukkites, and Ethiopians.[b] 3 Shishak came with 1,200 war-wagons and 60,000 horsemen. And the people who came with him from Egypt were too many to number. There were Libyans, Sukkites, and Ethiopians. 3 with twelve hundred chariots and sixty thousand cavalry. A countless army came with him from Egypt—Libyans, Sukkiim, and Ethiopians.[a] 3 with twelve hundred chariots, and with sixty thousand horsemen,-and, without number, the people who came with him out of Egypt - Lybians, Sukkiim, and Ethiopians.3 With twelve hundred chariots and threescore thousand horsemen: and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt, to wit, Libyans, and Troglodites, and Ethiopians.3 with twelve hundred chariots and sixty thousand horsemen. And the people were without number who came with him from Egypt--Libyans, Suk'ki-im, and Ethiopians.3 with a thousand and two hundred chariots, and with sixty thousand horsemen, and there is no number to the people who have come with him out of Egypt -- Lubim, Sukkiim, and Cushim --3 with one thousand and two hundred chariots, and with sixty thousand horsemen, and there is no number to the people who have come with him out of Egypt—Lubim, Sukkiim, and Cushim—3 with 1,200 chariots and 60,000 horsemen. And the people who came with him from Egypt were without number: (C1)the Lubim, the Sukkiim and the Ethiopians.4 He captured the fortified cities(C1) of Judah and came as far as Jerusalem.

4 He took the fortified cities which pertained to Yehudah, and came to Yerushalayim.

4 And he took the fenced cities which pertained to Judah, and came to Jerusalem. 4 And he took (g)the fortified cities of Judah and came as far as Jerusalem. 4 Shishak captured the strong, walled cities of Judah and came as far as Jerusalem. 4 He captured the fortified cities of Judah and marched against Jerusalem.4 Shishak took (C1)the fortified cities of Judah and came as far as Jerusalem.4 And he captured (C1)the fortified cities of Judah and came as far as Jerusalem.4 He took the fortified cities which pertained to Judah, and came to Jerusalem. 4 And he tooke the strong cities which were of Iudah, and came vnto Ierusalem.4 And he captured (C1)the fortified cities of Judah and came as far as Jerusalem.4 He captured the fortified cities of Judah and came as far as Jerusalem. 4 He captured every one of the fortified cities in Judah and then marched to Jerusalem. 4 He captured the fortified cities of Y'hudah, then went to Yerushalayim.

4 And he took the fortified cities that belonged to Judah, and came to Jerusalem. 4 Shishak defeated the strong cities of Judah. Then Shishak brought his army to Jerusalem.4 And he took the fenced cities which pertained to Judah, and came to Jerusalem. 4 He captured the fortified cities of Judah and advanced as far as Jerusalem. 4 And he took the fortified cities that belonged to Judah, and he came up to Jerusalem.4 And he captured the cities of defense in Judah and came to Jerusalem.4 and he wanne the stroge cities that were in Iuda, and came to Ierusalem. 4 And he took the fortified cities which pertained to Judah, and came unto Jerusalem. 4 And he took the walled towns of Judah, and came as far as Jerusalem.4 And he toke the strong cities in Iuda, and came to Hierusalem.4 And he took the fortified cities which pertained to Judah, and came unto Jerusalem. 4 And hee tooke the fenced cities which perteined to Iudah, and came to Ierusalem. 4 And they obtained possession of the strong cities, which were in Juda, and came to Jerusalem. 4 And he took the fenced cities which pertained to Judah, and came unto Jerusalem. 4 And he took ful stronge citees in Juda, and he cam `til to Jerusalem.4 And he took the fortified cities which pertained to Judah, and came to Jerusalem.4 And he took the fortified cities which [pertained] to Judah, and came to Jerusalem.4 And he took the fortified cities of Judah and came to Jerusalem. 4 Shishak conquered Judah's fortified towns and then advanced to attack Jerusalem. 4 He took the strong cities of Judah and came as far as Jerusalem. 4 He took the fortified cities of Judah and came as far as Jerusalem. 4 And he captured the cities of defence which belonged to Judah, - and came, as far as Jerusalem.4 And he took the strongest cities in Juda, and came to Jerusalem.4 And he took the fortified cities of Judah and came as far as Jerusalem.4 and he captureth the cities of the bulwarks that [are] to Judah, and cometh in unto Jerusalem.4 and he captures the cities of the bulwarks that [are] of Judah, and comes to Jerusalem.4 He captured (C1)the fortified cities of Judah and came as far as Jerusalem.

5 Then the prophet Shemaiah(C1) went to Rehoboam and the leaders of Judah who were gathered at Jerusalem because of Shishak. He said to them: “This is what the Lord says: ‘You have abandoned me; therefore, I have abandoned you to Shishak.’”(C2)

5 Now Shemayah the prophet came to Rechav`am, and to the princes of Yehudah, who were gathered together to Yerushalayim because of Shishak, and said to them, Thus says the LORD, You have forsaken me, therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.

5 Then came Shemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus saith the Lord, Ye have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak. 5 Then (h)Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and to the princes of Judah, who had gathered at Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, "Thus says the Lord, (i)‘You abandoned me, so I have abandoned you to the hand of Shishak.'"

5 Then Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the leaders of Judah who had gathered in Jerusalem because they were afraid of Shishak. Shemaiah said to them, "This is what the Lord says: ‘You have left me, so now I will leave you to face Shishak alone.'"

5 Shemaiah the prophet visited Rehoboam and the leaders of Judah who were assembled in Jerusalem because of Shishak. He said to them, "This is what the Lord says: ‘You have rejected me, so I have rejected you and will hand you over to Shishak.'" 5 Then (C1)Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the leaders of Judah who had gathered at Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, "Thus says the LORD: '(C2)You have abandoned (turned away from) Me, so I have abandoned you into the hands of Shishak.'"5 Then (C1)Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the princes of Judah who had gathered at Jerusalem because of Shishak, and he said to them, "This is what the LORD says: '(C2)You have abandoned Me, so I also have abandoned you (F1)to Shishak.'"5 Now Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, who were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, Thus says Yahweh, You have forsaken me, therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak. 5 Then came Shemaiah the Prophet to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Iudah, that were gathered together in Hierusalem, because of Shishak, and sayde vnto them, Thus sayth the Lord, Ye haue forsaken me, therefore haue I also left you in the handes of Shishak.5 Now (C1)Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the princes of Judah who had gathered at Jerusalem because of Shishak, and he said to them, "Thus says Yahweh, '(C2)You have forsaken Me, so I also have forsaken you (F1)to Shishak.'"5 Then Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the leaders of Judah who had gathered at Jerusalem because of Shishak, and he said to them, “This is what the LORD says: ‘You have forsaken Me; therefore, I have forsaken you into the hand of Shishak.’”

5 Rehoboam and the leaders of Judah had gone to Jerusalem to escape Shishak's invasion. And while they were there, Shemaiah the prophet told them, "The Lord says that because you have disobeyed him, he has now abandoned you. The Lord will not help you against Shishak!"

5 Now Sh'ma‘yah the prophet came to Rechav‘am and the leaders of Y'hudah who had gathered in Yerushalayim because of Shishak and said to them, "Here is what Adonai says: ‘Because you have abandoned me, I have abandoned you to the hands of Shishak.'"

5 And Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and [to] the princes of Judah that had gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, Thus saith Jehovah: Ye have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.

5 Then Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the leaders of Judah. The leaders of Judah had gathered together in Jerusalem because they all were afraid of Shishak. Shemaiah said to Rehoboam and the leaders of Judah, "This is what the Lord says: ‘Rehoboam, you and the people of Judah have left me and refused to obey my law. So now I will leave you to face Shishak without my help.'"5 Then came Shemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam and to the princes of Judah that were gathered together at Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus says the LORD: You have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.

5 Shemaiah the prophet went to King Rehoboam and the Judean leaders who had gathered in Jerusalem to escape Shishak. He said to them, "This is the Lord's message to you: ‘You have abandoned me, so now I have abandoned you to Shishak.'"

5 Then Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the princes of Judah who had gathered at Jerusalem from before Shishak. And he said to them, "Thus says Yahweh: ‘You yourselves have abandoned me, and I myself have surely abandoned you into the hand of Shishak.'" 5 And Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the leaders of Judah who had gathered to Jerusalem from the face of Shishak. And he said to them, So says Jehovah, You have forsaken Me; and I also have forsaken you in the hand of Shishak.5 Then came Semaia ye prophet vnto Roboam and to ye rulers of Iuda (which were gathered together at Ierusalem for Sisack) & sayde vnto them: Thus sayeth ye LORDE: Ye haue lefte me, therfore haue I lefte you also in Sisacks hande. 5 Now Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus saith Jehovah, Ye have forsaken me, therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak. 5 Now Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the chiefs of Judah, who had come together in Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, The Lord has said, Because you have given me up, I have given you up into the hands of Shishak.5 Then came Semeia the prophete to Rehoboam and to the Lordes of Iuda that were gathered together within Hierusalem for Sesac, and saide vnto them: Thus saith the Lorde, Ye haue left me, and therefore haue I also left you in the handes of Sesac.5 Now Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them: 'Thus saith the LORD: Ye have forsaken Me, therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.'5 Then came Shemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam, and to the Princes of Iudah that were gathered together to Ierusalem because of Shishak, and said vnto them, Thus saith the Lord, Ye haue forsaken me, and therfore haue I also left you in the hand of Shishak. 5 And Samaias the prophet came to Roboam, and to the princes of Juda that were gathered to Jerusalem for fear of Susakim, and said to them, Thus said the Lord, Ye have left me, and I will leave you in the hand of Susakim. 5 Now Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Ye have forsaken me, therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak. 5 Forsothe Semei, the prophete, entride to Roboam, and to the princes of Juda, whiche fleynge fro Sesach weren gaderid togidere `in to Jerusalem. And he seide to hem, The Lord seith these thingis, Ye han forsake me, and Y haue forsake you in the hond of Sesach.5 Now Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, Thus says Yahweh, You have forsaken me, therefore I have also left you in the hand of Shishak.5 Then came Shemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam, and [to] the princes of Judah, that were assembled at Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, Thus saith the LORD, Ye have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.5 Then Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the leaders of Judah, who were gathered together in Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, "Thus says the LORD: "You have forsaken Me, and therefore I also have left you in the hand of Shishak."'

5 The prophet Shemaiah then met with Rehoboam and Judah's leaders, who had all fled to Jerusalem because of Shishak. Shemaiah told them, "This is what the Lord says: You have abandoned me, so I am abandoning you to Shishak." 5 Then Shemaiah the man of God came to Rehoboam and the princes of Judah who had gathered at Jerusalem because of Shishak. He said to them, "The Lord says, ‘You have left Me. So I have left you to Shishak.'" 5 Then the prophet Shemaiah came to Rehoboam and to the officers of Judah, who had gathered at Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, "Thus says the Lord: You abandoned me, so I have abandoned you to the hand of Shishak." 5 And, Shemaiah the prophet, came unto Rehoboam, and the rulers of Judah, who had gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem because of Shishak, - and said unto them, Thus, saith Yahweh, Ye, have left, me, Therefore, I also, have left, you, in the hands of Shishak.5 And Semeias the prophet came to Roboam, and to the princes of Juda, that were gathered together in Jerusalem, fleeing from Sesac, and he said to them: Thus saith the Lord: You have left me, and I have left you in the hand of Sesac.5 Then Shemai'ah the prophet came to Rehobo'am and to the princes of Judah, who had gathered at Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, "Thus says the LORD, 'You abandoned me, so I have abandoned you to the hand of Shishak.'"5 And Shemaiah the prophet hath come in unto Rehoboam and the heads of Judah who have been gathered unto Jerusalem from the presence of Shishak, and saith to them, `Thus said Jehovah, Ye have forsaken Me, and also, I have left you in the hand of Shishak;'5 And Shemaiah the prophet has come to Rehoboam and the heads of Judah who have been gathered to Jerusalem [to escape] from the presence of Shishak, and says to them, "Thus said YHWH: You have forsaken Me, and also, I have left you in the hand of Shishak";

5 Then the prophet Shemaiah, accompanied by the leaders of Judah who had retreated to Jerusalem before Shishak, came to Rehoboam and said, "God's word: You abandoned me; now I abandon you to Shishak."5 Then (C1)Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the princes of Judah who had gathered at Jerusalem because of Shishak, and he said to them, "Thus says the LORD, '(C2)You have forsaken Me, so I also have forsaken you (F1)to Shishak.'"

6 So the leaders of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, “The Lord is righteous.”(C1)

6 Then the princes of Yisra'el and the king humbled themselves; and they said, the LORD is righteous.

6 Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The Lord is righteous. 6 Then the princes of (j)Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, (k)"The Lord is righteous."

6 Then the leaders of Judah and King Rehoboam were sorry for what they had done. They said, "The Lord does what is right." 6 The leaders of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, "The Lord is just." 6 Then the leaders of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, "The (C1)LORD is righteous."

6 So the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, "The (C1)LORD is righteous."

6 Then the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, Yahweh is righteous. 6 Then the princes of Israel, & the King humbled themselues, and sayde, The Lord is iust.6 So the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, "(C1)Yahweh is righteous."

6 So the leaders of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, “The LORD is righteous.”

6 Rehoboam and the leaders were sorry for what they had done and admitted, "The Lord is right. We have deserted him." 6 In response, the leaders of Isra'el and the king humbled themselves; they said, "Adonai is right."

6 And the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, Jehovah is righteous.

6 Then the leaders of Judah and King Rehoboam were sorry and humbled themselves. They said, "The Lord is right."6 Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The LORD is righteous.

6 The king and the leaders admitted that they had sinned, and they said, "What the Lord is doing is just." 6 Then the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, "Yahweh is righteous." 6 And the leaders of Israel and the king were humbled. And they said, Jehovah is righteous.6 The the rulers in Israel with the kynge submytted them selues, and sayde: The LORDE is righteous. 6 Then the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, Jehovah is righteous. 6 Then the chiefs of Israel and the king made themselves low and said, The Lord is upright.6 Whereupon the lordes of Israel and the king humbled themselues, and said: The Lorde is righteous.6 Then the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said: 'The LORD is righteous.'6 Whereupon, the Princes of Israel, and the king humbled themselues and they saide, The Lord is righteous. 6 And the elders of Israel and the king were ashamed, and said, The Lord is righteous. 6 Then the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The LORD is righteous. 6 And the princes of Israel and the kyng weren astonyed, and seiden, The Lord is iust.6 Then the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, Yahweh is righteous.6 Upon which the princes of Israel, and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The LORD [is] righteous.6 So the leaders of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, "The LORD is righteous."

6 Then the leaders of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, "The Lord is right in doing this to us!" 6 So the princes of Israel and the king put away their pride and said, "The Lord is right and good." 6 Then the officers of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, "The Lord is in the right." 6 Then the rulers of Israel and the king humbled themselves, - and said, Righteous, is Yahweh!6 And the princes of Israel, and the king, being in a consternation, said: The Lord is just.6 Then the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, "The LORD is righteous."6 and the heads of Israel are humbled, and the king, and they say, `Righteous [is] Jehovah.'6 and the heads of Israel are humbled—and the king—and they say, "YHWH [is] righteous."

6 The leaders of Israel and the king were repentant and said, "God is right."6 So the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, "The (C1)LORD is righteous."
