The Call to Sanctification
1 Additionally then, brothers and sisters, we ask and encourage you in the Lord Jesus, that as you have received instruction from us on how you should live and please God—as you are doing(F1)—do this even more.
1 Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Iesus, that as yee haue receiued of vs, how ye ought to walke, and to please God, so yee would abound more and more.

1 Finally, my dear friends, since you belong to the Lord Jesus, we beg and urge you to live as we taught you. Then you will please God. You are already living that way, but try even harder.
1 Therefore, brothers, just as you learned from us how you had to live in order to please God, and just as you are living this way now, we ask you — indeed, united with the Lord Yeshua, we urge you — to keep doing so more and more.
1 For the rest, then, brethren, we beg you and exhort you in [the] Lord Jesus, even as ye have received from us how ye ought to walk and please God, even as ye also do walk, that ye would abound still more.
A Life That Pleases God
1 Brothers and sisters, now I have some other things to tell you. We taught you how to live in a way that will please God. And you are living that way. Now we ask and encourage you in the Lord Jesus to live that way more and more.

1 FROM this time then, my brethren, we beseech you and entreat you earnestly by our LORD Jesus, that as you have been taught by us how you ought to live and to please God, so you will increase more and more.
A Life That Pleases God
1 Finally, our friends, you learned from us how you should live in order to please God. This is, of course, the way you have been living. And now we beg and urge you in the name of the Lord Jesus to do even more.
Appeal for Continuing Sanctification
1 Finally therefore, brothers, we ask you and appeal to you in the Lord Jesus that, just as you have received from us how it is necessary for you to live and to please God, just as indeed you are living, that you progress even more.
1 For the rest, then brothers, we beg you and we exhort in the Lord Jesus, even as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, that you abound more.

1 (C1)Finally, (C2)believers, we ask and admonish you in the Lord Jesus, that you follow the instruction that you received from us about how you ought to (C3)walk and (C4)please God (just as you are actually doing) and that you (C5)excel even more and more pursuing a life of purpose and living in a way that expresses gratitude to God for your salvation.

1 And last of all, the prayer which we make to you from our heart and in the name of the Lord Jesus, is this: that as we made clear to you what sort of behaviour is pleasing to God, as in fact you are doing now, so you will go on in these ways, but more and more.

Live to Please God
1 Finally, dear brothers and sisters,[a] we urge you in the name of the Lord Jesus to live in a way that pleases God, as we have taught you. You live this way already, and we encourage you to do so even more.
Paul Tells Them to Live Holy Lives
1 Christian brothers, we ask you, because of the Lord Jesus, to keep on living in a way that will please God. I have already told you how to grow in the Christian life.

1 Finally, my brethren, we intreat and conjure you by the Lord Jesus Christ, to observe the instructions we gave you about your religious conduct, and to make continual progress therein. 1-3 One final word, friends. We ask you—urge is more like it—that you keep on doing what we told you to do to please God, not in a dogged religious plod, but in a living, spirited dance. You know the guidelines we laid out for you from the Master Jesus. God wants you to live a pure life.
Keep yourselves from sexual promiscuity.
1 As for some other things, we've taught y'all the fundamentals of how to ride for the Lord. But don't be satisfied with a little progress. Continue to grow and ride further every day.

Do it our way and you'll be doing it God's way.
3 For this is God’s will,(C1) your sanctification:(C2) that you keep away(C3) from sexual immorality, 3 For this is the will of God, euen your sanctification, that yee should absteine from fornication:
3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: 3 For this is the will of God, (f)your sanctification:[b] (g)that you abstain from sexual immorality;3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you (C1)abstain from sexual immorality; 3 God wants you to be holy and to stay away from sexual sins. 3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you (C1)abstain from (F1)sexual immorality;3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you (C1)abstain from (F1)sexual immorality;3 For it is God’s will that you should be holy: You must abstain from sexual immorality; 3 God wants you to be holy, so don't be immoral in matters of sex. 3 What God wants is that you be holy, that you keep away from sexual immorality,
3 For this is [the] will of God, [even] your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication; 3 God wants you to be holy. He wants you to stay away from sexual sins.3 For this is the will of God euen your sanctification, and that ye should abstaine from fornication,3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that you should abstain from fornication: 3 God wants you to be holy and completely free from sexual immorality. 3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; 3 For this is God's will, your sanctification, for you to abstain from fornication,3 For this is the will of God, that you be sanctified separated and set apart from sin: that you (C1)abstain and back away from sexual immorality; 3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye abstain from fornication; 3 For the purpose of God for you is this: that you may be holy, and may keep yourselves from the desires of the flesh;3 For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, 3 For it is God's will that you be sanctified: You must abstain from sexual immorality;[xr] 3 For this is the will of Aloha, your sanctification; and that you be distant from all fornication;3 For this is the pleasure of God, your sanctification; and that ye be separated from all whoredom;3 For this is the wyll of God, your holynesse, that ye should abstayne from fornication:3 For this is the will of God, [even] your sanctification, that ye abstain from fornication; 3 For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, 3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye abstain from fornication;3 For this is God's will--your purity of life, that you abstain from fornication;3 For this is the wille of God, youre holynesse, that ye absteyne you fro fornycacioun.3 For this is the will of God, [even] your sanctification, that you abstain from fornication;3 For this is the will of God, [even] your sanctification, that ye should abstain from lewdness. 3 For this is God's will: that you become holy, that you keep away from sexual immorality, 3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality;
3 God's will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin. 3 God wants you to be holy. You must keep away from sex sins. 3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from fornication; 3 For, this, is a thing willed of God, your sanctification, - that ye should abstain from unchastity,3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: That you should abstain from fornication:3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from unchastity;3 For this is the will of god even that ye shuld be holy and that ye shuld abstayne from fornicacion 3 for this is the will of God -- your sanctification; that ye abstain from the whoredom,3 for this is the will of God—your sanctification: that you abstain from the whoredom,3 For this is the will of God, euen youre sanctifienge, that ye shulde absteyne from whordome,3 and such is the will of God, that you should be holy, and avoid licentiousness;
3 God wants for y'all to be top hands. He wants you to be holy. They are one and the same. You can't do that if you're working for the Lord during the day and visiting the whorehouse at night.
4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; 4 that each one of you know how to control his own (h)body[c] in holiness and (i)honor,4 that (C1)each of you know how to (F1)possess his own (F2)(C2)vessel in sanctification and (C3)honor, 4 He wants each of you to learn to control your own body[a] in a way that is holy and honorable. 4 that (C1)each of you know how to (F1)possess his own (F2)(C2)vessel in sanctification and (C3)honor,4 that (C1)each of you know how to (F1)possess his own (F2)(C2)vessel in sanctification and (C3)honor,4 each of you must know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, 4 Respect and honor your wife.[a] 4 that each of you know how to manage his sexual impulses in a holy and honorable manner,
4 that each of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honour, 4 God wants each one of you to learn to control your own body. Use your body in a way that is holy and that gives honor to God.[a]4 That euery one of you should know, how to possesse his vessell in holines and honour,4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; 4 Each of you should know how to live with your wife[a] in a holy and honorable way, 4 that each of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, 4 each one of you to know to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor,4 that (C1)each of you know how to control his own (C2)body in holiness and (C3)honor being available for God's purpose and separated from things profane, 4 that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, 4 So that every one of you may keep his body holy and in honour;4 that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, 4 each of you must know how to control his own body[fn] in holiness and honor,[xr] 4 and that every man of you know to possess his vessel in sanctification and in honour,4 and that each one of you might know how to possess his vessel, in sanctity and in honor;4 That euery one of you should knowe how to possesse his vessell in holynesse and honour:4 that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honour, 4 that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, 4 That every one of you know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; 4 that each man among you shall know how to procure a wife who shall be his own in purity and honour;4 That ech of you kunne welde his vessel in holynesse, and onour;4 that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor,4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor; 4 that each of you know how to possess his own body in holiness and honor, 4 that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, 4 Then each of you will control his own body[b] and live in holiness and honor— 4 God wants each of you to use his body in the right way by keeping it holy and by respecting it. 4 that each one of you know how to control your own body[b] in holiness and honor, 4 That ye should know, each one of you, how, of his own vessel, to possess himself in sanctification and honour:4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour,4 that each one of you know how to take a wife for himself in holiness and honor,4 that every one of you shuld knowe how to kepe his vessell in holynes and honoure 4 that each of you know his own vessel to possess in sanctification and honour,4 that each of you know to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor,4 yt euery one of you shulde knowe how to kepe his vessell in holynes and honoure,4 that every one of you should take care to preserve the dignity of his 4-5 Learn to appreciate and give dignity to your body, not abusing it, as is so common among those who know nothing of God.4 A top hand controls his body and his desires. Be honorable and admirable in all that you do and at all times. 5 not with lustful passions,(C1) like the Gentiles, who don’t know God. 5 Not in the lust of concupiscence, euen as the Gentiles which know not God:
5 Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: 5 not in (j)the passion of lust (k)like the Gentiles (l)who do not know God;5 not in (F1)(C1)lustful passion, like the Gentiles who (C2)do not know God; 5 Don't use your body for sexual sin like the people who do not know God. 5 not in (F1)(C1)lustful passion, like the Gentiles who (C2)do not know God;5 not in (F1)(C1)lustful passion, like the Gentiles who (C2)do not know God;5 not in lustful passion like the Gentiles who do not know God; 5 Don't be a slave of your desires or live like people who don't know God. 5 without giving in to lustful desires, like the pagans who don't know God.
5 (not in passionate desire, even as the nations who know not God,) 5 Don't let your sexual desires control you like the people who don't know God.5 And not in the lust of concupiscence, euen as the Gentiles which know not God:5 And not through the passion of lust, even as the rest of the Gentiles who know not God: 5 not with a lustful desire, like the heathen who do not know God. 5 not in lustful passion, just as also the Gentiles who do not know God; 5 not in passion of lust, even as also the nations do , not knowing God;5 not to be used in (C1)lustful passion, like the Gentiles who (C2)do not know God and are ignorant of His will; 5 not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who know not God; 5 Not in the passion of evil desires, like the Gentiles, who have no knowledge of God;5 not in the passion of lust, even as the Goyim who don't know God; 5 not with passion and lust like the Gentiles who do not know God;[xr] 5 and not in the passions of concupiscence, as the rest of the Gentiles who know not Aloha.5 and not in the concupiscence of lust, like the rest of the Gentiles who know not God:5 Not in the lust of concupiscence, euen as the gentiles, which knowe not God.5 not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles which know not God; 5 not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don't know God; 5 Not in passionate desire, as the Gentiles who know not God.5 that you be not overmastered by lustful cravings, like the Gentiles who have no knowledge of God;5 not in passioun of lust, as hethene men that knowen not God.5 not by immoral sexual passion, even as the Gentiles who don't know God;5 Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles who know not God: 5 not in lustful passion like the Gentiles who do not know God. 5 not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God; 5 not in lustful passion like the pagans who do not know God and his ways. 5 You should not use it to please your own desires like the people who do not know God. 5 not with lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God; 5 Not with a passion of coveting, - just as even the nations who know not God, - 5 Not in the passion of lust, like the Gentiles that know not God:5 not in the passion of lust like heathen who do not know God;5 and not in the lust of concupiscence as do the hethen which knowe not god 5 not in the affection of desire, as also the nations that were not knowing God,5 not in the affection of desire, as also the nations that were not knowing God,5 & not in the lust of concupiscence, as the Heythen which knowe not God.5 person unsullied by the vices of the Gentiles, who know not God: 5 Don't be like those wannabe cowboys who run around with their tongue hanging out so far in lust they could accidentally zip it up in their britches. I don't care what they say, these wannabe "cowboys" don't know God and sure don't ride for the brand. 6 This means one must not transgress against and take advantage(C1) of a brother or sister in this manner, because the Lord is an avenger of all these offenses, as we also previously told and warned you. 6 That no man goe beyond and defraud his brother in any matter, because that the Lord is the auenger of all such; as we also haue forewarned you, and testified:
6 That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. 6 that no one transgress and (m)wrong his brother in this matter, because the Lord is (n)an avenger in all these things, as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you.6 and that no one violate the rights and (C1)take advantage of his brother or sister (C2)in the matter, because (C3)the Lord is the avenger in all these things, just as we also (C4)told you previously and solemnly warned you. 6 Also, do not wrong or cheat another Christian in this way. The Lord will punish people who do those things as we have already told you and warned you. 6 and that no man transgress and (C1)defraud his brother (C2)in the matter because (C3)the Lord is the avenger in all these things, just as we also (C4)told you before and solemnly warned you.6 and that no man transgress and (C1)defraud his brother (C2)in the matter because (C3)the Lord is the avenger in all these things, just as we also (C4)told you before and solemnly warned you.6 and no one should ever violate or exploit his brother in this regard, because the Lord will avenge all such acts, as we have already told you and solemnly warned you. 6 You must not cheat any of the Lord's followers in matters of sex.[b] Remember, we warned you that he punishes everyone who does such things. 6 No one should wrong his brother in this matter or take advantage of him, because the Lord punishes all who do such things — as we have explained to you before at length.
6 not overstepping the rights of and wronging his brother in the matter, because the Lord [is] the avenger of all these things, even as we also told you before, and have fully testified. 6 Never wrong any of your fellow believers or cheat them in this way. The Lord will punish those who do that. We have already told you this and warned you about it.
