3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. 3 But I want you to understand that (e)the head of every man is Christ, (f)the head of a wife[a] is her husband,[b] and (g)the head of Christ is God.3 But I want you to understand that Christ is the (C1)head of every man, and (F1)(C2)the man is the head of a woman, and God is the (C3)head of Christ. 3 But I want you to understand this: The head of every man is Christ, the head of a woman is the man,[a] and the head of Christ is God. 3 But I want you to understand that Christ is the (C1)head (authority over) of every man, and (C2)man is the head of woman, and God is the (C3)head of Christ.3 But I want you to understand that (F1)Christ is the (C1)head of every man, and (C2)the man is the head of a woman, and God is the (C3)head of (F1)Christ.3 But I want you to understand that (F1)Christ is the (C1)head of every man, and (C2)the man is the head of a woman, and God is the (C3)head of (F1)Christ.3 But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. 3 Now I want you to know that Christ is the head over all men, and a man is the head over a woman. But God is the head over Christ. 3 But I want you to understand that the head of every man is the Messiah, and the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of the Messiah is God.
3 But I wish you to know that the Christ is the head of every man, but woman's head [is] the man, and the Christ's head God. 3 But I want you to understand this: The head of every man is Christ. And the head of a woman is the man.[a] And the head of Christ is God.3 But I wil that ye know, that Christ is the head of euery man: and the man is the womans head: and God is Christs head.3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the wife is her husband; and the head of Christ is God. 3 But I want you to understand that Christ is supreme over every man, the husband is supreme over his wife, and God is supreme over Christ. 3 But I want you to know that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of the woman, and the head of Christ is God. 3 But I want you to know that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ. 3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. 3 But it is important for you to keep this fact in mind, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man, and the head of Christ is God.3 But I would have you know that the head of every man is Messiah, and the head of the woman is the man, and the head of Messiah is God. 3 Now I want you to realize that Christ is the head of every man, and man is the head of the woman, and God is the head of Christ.[xr] 3 But I would that you know that the Meshiha is the head of every man; and the head of the woman is the man, and the head of the Meshiha is Aloha.3 And I would have you know, that the head of every man is the Messiah, and the head of the woman is the man, and the head of the Messiah is God.3 But I wyl that ye knowe, that Christ is the head of euery man. And the man is the womans head: And God is Christes head.3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. 3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is the man, and the head of Christ is God. 3 But I would have you know, that the head of the woman is the man, and the head of every man is Christ, and the head of Christ is God.3 I would have you know, however, that of every man, Christ is the Head, that of a woman her husband is the Head, and that God is Christ's Head.3 But Y wole that ye wite, that Crist is heed of ech man; but the heed of the womman is the man; and the heed of Crist is God.3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman [is] the man; and the head of Christ [is] God. 3 But I want you to know that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ. 3 But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. 3 But there is one thing I want you to know: The head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.[a] 3 I want you to know that Christ is the head of every man. The husband is the head of his wife. God is the head of Christ. 3 But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the husband[a] is the head of his wife,[b] and God is the head of Christ. 3 But I wish you to know - that, the head of every man, is, the Christ, and, the head of a woman, is, the man; and, the head of the Christ, is, God.3 But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ: and the head of the woman is the man: and the head of Christ is God.3 But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a woman is her husband, and the head of Christ is God.3 I wolde ye knew that Christ is the heed of every man. And the man is the womans heed. And God is Christes heed.3 and I wish you to know that of every man the head is the Christ, and the head of a woman is the husband, and the head of Christ is God.3 and I wish you to know that the Christ is the head of every man, and the head of a woman is the husband, and the head of Christ is God.3 But I certifye you, that Christ is the heade of euery man. As for ye man, he is the heade of ye woman, but God is Christes heade.3 but I would have you take notice, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the wife, is the man; and the head of Christ, is God. 3-9 In a marriage relationship, there is authority from Christ to husband, and from husband to wife. The authority of Christ is the authority of God. Any man who speaks with God or about God in a way that shows a lack of respect for the authority of Christ, dishonors Christ. In the same way, a wife who speaks with God in a way that shows a lack of respect for the authority of her husband, dishonors her husband. Worse, she dishonors herself—an ugly sight, like a woman with her head shaved. This is basically the origin of these customs we have of women wearing head coverings in worship, while men take their hats off. By these symbolic acts, men and women, who far too often butt heads with each other, submit their "heads" to the Head: God.3 But listen to this so there's no confusion—when you ride out in your pasture, God is the Boss, Jesus follows him, man follows Jesus, and woman follows man. 4 Every man who prays or prophesies with something on his head dishonors(C1) his head. 4 Euery man praying or prophecying, hauing his head couered, dishonoureth his head.
4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. 4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head,4 Every man who has something on his head while praying or (C1)prophesying disgraces his head. 4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered brings shame to his head. 4 Every man who prays or (F1)(C1)prophesies with something on his head dishonors his head and the One who is his head.4 Every man who has something on his head while praying or (C1)prophesying disgraces his head.4 Every man who has something on his head while praying or (C1)prophesying, shames his head.4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 4 This means that any man who prays or prophesies with something on his head brings shame to his head. 4 Every man who prays or prophesies wearing something down over his head brings shame to his head,
4 Every man praying or prophesying, having [anything] on his head, puts his head to shame.
4 Every man who prophesies or prays with his head covered brings shame to his head.4 Euery man praying or prophecying hauing any thing on his head, dishonoureth his head.4 Every man who prays or prophesies, having his head covered, dishonors his head. 4 So a man who prays or proclaims God's message in public worship with his head covered disgraces Christ. 4 Every man who prays or prophesies while[a] having something[b] on his head dishonors his head, 4 Every man praying or prophesying, having anything down over his head shames his head. 4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoreth his head. 4 Every man who takes part in prayer, or gives teaching as a prophet, with his head covered, puts shame on his head.4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonors his head. 4 Every man who prays or prophesies with something on his head dishonors his head,[xr] 4 Every man who prayeth or prophesieth having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.4 Every man, who prayeth or prophesieth with his head covered, dishonoreth his head.4 Euery man praying or prophesiyng, hauyng any thing on his head, shameth his head.4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. 4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonors his head. 4 Every man praying or prophesying with his head covered, dishonoureth his head.4 A man who wears a veil when praying or prophesying dishonors his Head;4 Ech man preiynge, or profeciynge, whanne his heed is hilid, defoulith his heed.4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonors his head.4 Every man praying or prophesying, having [his] head covered, dishonoreth his head. 4 Any man who prays or prophesies with his head covered disgraces his head. 4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonors his head. 4 A man dishonors his head[b] if he covers his head while praying or prophesying. 4 If any man prays or preaches with his head covered, he does not give honor to Christ. 4 Any man who prays or prophesies with something on his head disgraces his head, 4 Every man, praying, or prophesying, having anything upon his head, putteth to shame his head;4 Every man praying or prophesying with his head covered disgraceth his head.4 Any man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head,4 Eevery ma prayinge or prophesyinge havynge eny thynge on his heed shameth his heed.4 Every man praying or prophesying, having the head covered, doth dishonour his head,4 Every man praying or prophesying, having the head covered, dishonors his head,4 Euery man that prayeth or prophecieth, and hath eny thinge on his heade, shameth his heade.4 every man who prays or prophesies having his head covered, dishonoureth him who is his head: but every woman who prays 4 A man who rides in front of Jesus, even when praying to God, dishonors the one with authority over him. 5 Every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, since that is one and the same as having her head shaved.(C1) 5 But euery woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head vncouered, dishonoureth her head: for that is euen all one as if she were shauen.
5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. 5 but every wife[c] who prays or (h)prophesies (i)with her head uncovered dishonors her head, since it is the same (j)as if her head were shaven.5 But every (C1)woman who has her head uncovered while praying or prophesying disgraces her head, for it is one and the same as the woman (F1)whose head is (C2)shaved. 5 But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered brings shame to her head. She is the same as a woman who has her head shaved. 5 And every (C1)woman who prays or prophesies when she has her (F1)head uncovered disgraces her head; for she is one and the same as the (F2)woman whose head is (C2)shaved in disgrace.5 But every (C1)woman who has her head uncovered while praying or prophesying disgraces her head, for she is one and the same as the woman (F1)whose head is (C2)shaved.5 But every (C1)woman who has her head uncovered while praying or prophesying, shames her head, for she is one and the same as the woman (F1)whose head is (C2)shaved.5 And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, for it is just as if her head were shaved.
5 But any woman who prays or prophesies without something on her head brings shame to her head. In fact, she may as well shave her head.[a] 5 but every woman who prays or prophesies with her head unveiled brings shame to her head — there is no difference between her and a woman who has had her head shaved.
5 But every woman praying or prophesying with her head uncovered puts her own head to shame; for it is one and the same as a shaved [woman]. 5 But every woman who prays or prophesies should have her head covered. If her head is not covered, she brings shame to her head. Then she is the same as a woman who has her head shaved.5 But euery woman that prayeth or prophecieth bare headed, dishonoureth her head: for it is euen one very thing, as though she were shauen.5 And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered, dishonors her head: for she is equal to her whose head is shaven. 5 And any woman who prays or proclaims God's message in public worship with nothing on her head disgraces her husband; there is no difference between her and a woman whose head has been shaved. 5 but every woman who prays or prophesies with uncovered head dishonors her head, for she is one and the same with the one whose head is shaved. 5 And every woman praying or prophesying with the head unveiled dishonors her head, for it is the same as being shaved. 5 But every woman praying or prophesying with her head unveiled dishonoreth her head; for it is one and the same thing as if she were shaven. 5 But every woman who does so with her head unveiled, puts shame on her head: for it is the same as if her hair was cut off.5 But every woman praying or prophesying with her head unveiled dishonors her head. For it is one and the same thing as if she were shaved. 5 and every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, which is the same as having her head shaved.[xr] 5 And every woman who prayeth or prophesieth having her head uncovered, dishonoureth her head, for she is similar to one whose head is shaven.5 And every woman, who prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered, dishonoreth her head; for she is on a level with her whose head is shaven.5 But euery woman that prayeth or prophesieth bare headed, dishonesteth her head: For that is euen all one as yf she were shauen.5 But every woman praying or prophesying with her head unveiled dishonoureth her head: for it is one and the same thing as if she were shaven. 5 But every woman praying or prophesying with her head unveiled dishonors her head. For it is one and the same thing as if she were shaved. 5 But every woman praying or prophesying with her head uncovered, dishonoureth her head; for it is the same as if she were shaved.5 but a woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her Head, for it is exactly the same as if she had her hair cut short.5 But ech womman preiynge, or profeciynge, whanne hir heed is not hilid, defoulith hir heed; for it is oon, as if sche were pollid.5 But every woman praying or prophesying with her head unveiled dishonors her head; for it is one and the same thing as if she were shaven.5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with [her] head uncovered, dishonoreth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaved. 5 But any woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered disgraces her head, for it is one and the same thing as having a shaved head. 5 But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, for that is one and the same as if her head were shaved. 5 But a woman dishonors her head[c] if she prays or prophesies without a covering on her head, for this is the same as shaving her head. 5 Every woman who prays or preaches without her head covered does not respect her head. It is the same as if she had her hair cut off. 5 but any woman who prays or prophesies with her head unveiled disgraces her head—it is one and the same thing as having her head shaved. 5 But, every woman, praying, or prophesying, with her head, unveiled, putteth to shame her head, - for it is, one and the same, with her having been shaven.5 But every woman praying or prophesying with her head not covered disgraceth her head: for it is all one as if she were shaven.5 but any woman who prays or prophesies with her head unveiled dishonors her head--it is the same as if her head were shaven.5 Every woman that prayeth or prophisieth bare hedded dishonesteth hyr heed. For it is even all one and the very same thinge even as though she were shaven.5 and every woman praying or prophesying with the head uncovered, doth dishonour her own head, for it is one and the same thing with her being shaven,5 and every woman praying or prophesying with the head uncovered, dishonors her own head, for it is one and the same thing with her being shaven,5 But euery woman that prayeth or prophecieth with vncouered heade, dishonesteth hir heade. For it is euen a lyke moch as yf she were shauen.5 or prophesies with her head uncovered, dishonoureth the man who is her head: for it is the same thing as if her head was shav'd. 5 A woman who rides in front of a man, even if she is praying to God, dishonors the man who has authority over her. 6 For if a woman doesn’t cover her head, she should have her hair cut off. But if it is disgraceful for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, let her head be covered.
6 For if the woman be not couered, let her also bee shorne: but if it bee a shame for a woman to be shorne or shauen, let her be couered.6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. 6 For if a wife will not cover her head, then she should cut her hair short. But since it is disgraceful for a wife to cut off her hair or shave her head, let her cover her head.6 For if a woman does not cover (F1)her head, have her also (F2)cut her hair off; however, if it is disgraceful for a woman to (F2)have her hair cut off or (F1)her head shaved, have her cover (F1)her head. 6 If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off. But since it is shameful for a woman to cut off her hair or to shave her head, she should cover her head. 6 If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off; and (F1)if it is disgraceful for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, she should cover her head.6 For if a woman does not cover (F1)her head, let her also (F2)have her hair cut off; but if it is disgraceful for a woman to (F2)have her hair cut off or (F1)her head shaved, let her cover (F1)her head.6 For if a woman does not cover (F1)her head, let her also (F2)have her hair cut short. But if it is disgraceful for a woman to (F2)have her hair cut short or (F1)her head shaved, let her cover (F1)her head.6 If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off. And if it is shameful for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head. 6 A woman should wear something on her head. It is a disgrace for a woman to shave her head or cut her hair. But if she refuses to wear something on her head, let her cut off her hair. 6 For if a woman is not veiled, let her also have her hair cut short; but if it is shameful for a woman to wear her hair cut short or to have her head shaved, then let her be veiled.
6 For if a woman be not covered, let her hair also be cut off. But if [it be] shameful to a woman to have her hair cut off or to be shaved, let her be covered.
