The Lord’s Covenant with David
1 When David(C1) had settled into his palace, he said to the prophet Nathan, “Look! I am living in a cedar house while the ark of the Lord’s covenant is under tent curtains.”(C2)
1 It happened, when David lived in his house, that David said to Natan the prophet, Behold, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD [dwells] under curtains.
1 Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the Lord remaineth under curtains.
The Lord's Covenant with David
1 (a)Now when David lived in his house, David said to Nathan the prophet, "Behold, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under a tent."
God's Promise to David
1 When David moved into his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet, "Look, I am living in a palace made of cedar, but the Ark of the Agreement with the Lord sits in a tent."

The Ark of God Inhabits a Tent
1 (C1)Now it happened when David inhabited his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, "Behold, I inhabit a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of Yahweh is under tent curtains."
God’s Covenant with David
(2 Samuel 7:1-17)
1 After David had settled into his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet, “Here I am, living in a house of cedar, while the ark of the covenant of the LORD is under a tent.”
The Lord's Message to David
1 Soon after David moved into his new palace, he said to Nathan the prophet, "Look around! I live in a palace made of cedar, but the sacred chest is kept in a tent."
1 After David had been living in his palace awhile, he said to Natan the prophet, "Here, I'm living in a cedar-wood palace; but the ark for the covenant of Adonai is kept under a tent!"
1 And it came to pass as David dwelt in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Behold, I dwell in a house of cedars, and the ark of the covenant of Jehovah under curtains.
God's Promise to David
1 After David had moved into his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet, "Look, I am living in this nice palace made of cedar, but the Box of the Lord's Agreement sits in a tent."
1 NOW it came to pass when David dwelt in his house, David said to Nathan the prophet, Behold, I dwell in a house which is covered with the beams of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD is resting in the midst of the tent of hair of goats.
Nathan's Message to David(a)
1 King David was now living in his palace. One day he sent for the prophet Nathan and said to him, "Here I am living in a house built of cedar, but the Lord's Covenant Box is kept in a tent!"
Yahweh's Covenant with David
1 And as David lived in his house, David said to Nathan the prophet, "Look, I live in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of Yahweh is under tent curtains."
1 And it happened, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Behold, I am living in a house of cedars, and the ark of the covenant of Jehovah is under curtains.
1 It fortuned wha Dauid dwelt in his house, he sayde vnto ye prophet Nathan: Beholde, I dwell in a house of Ceder, and the Arke of the couenaunt of the LORDE is amonge the curtaynes.
1 And it came to pass, when David dwelt in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of Jehovah dwelleth under curtains.
1 Now when David was living in his house, he said to Nathan the prophet, See, I am living in a house of cedar-wood, but the ark of the Lord's agreement is under the curtains of a tent.

1 And it came to pass as David dwelt in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Behold, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under curtains of skins.
1 And it came to pass, when David dwelt in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD [dwelleth] under curtains.
1 Forsothe whanne Dauid dwellide in his hows, he seide to Nathan, the prophete, Lo! Y dwelle in an hows of cedris; sotheli the arke of boond of pees of the Lord is vndur skynnys.
1 And it came to pass, when David dwelt in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Look, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of Yahweh [dwells] under curtains.
1 Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in a house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD [remaineth] under curtains.
1 [xr] Now it came to pass, when David was dwelling in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, "See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD is under tent curtains."
The Lord's Covenant Promise to David
1 When David was settled in his palace, he summoned Nathan the prophet. "Look," David said, "I am living in a beautiful cedar palace,[a] but the Ark of the Lord's Covenant is out there under a tent!"
God's Agreement with David
1 Now when David lived in his house, he said to Nathan the special preacher, "See, I am living in a house of cedar wood. But the special box with the Law of the Lord is under a tent."
God's Covenant with David
1 Now when David settled in his house, David said to the prophet Nathan, "I am living in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under a tent."
1 And it came to pass, when David had taken up his abode in his house, that David said unto Nathan the prophet, Lo! I, am dwelling in a house of cedars, but, the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, is under curtains.
1 Now when David was dwelling in his house, he said to Nathan the prophet: Behold I dwell in a house of cedar: and the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under skins.
1 Now when David dwelt in his house, David said to Nathan the prophet, "Behold, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD is under a tent."
1 And it cometh to pass as David sat in his house, that David saith unto Nathan the prophet, `Lo, I am dwelling in a house of cedars, and the ark of the covenant of Jehovah [is] under curtains;'
1 And it comes to pass as David sat in his house, that David says to Nathan the prophet, "Behold, I am dwelling in a house of cedars, and the Ark of the Covenant of YHWH [is] under curtains";
David Submits and Prays
1 After the king had made himself at home, he said to Nathan the prophet, "Look at this: Here I am comfortable in a luxurious palace of cedar and the Chest of the Covenant of God sits under a tent."
God's Covenant with David
1 (C1)And it came about, when David dwelt in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, "Behold, I am dwelling in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD is under curtains."
2 So Nathan told David, “Do all that is on your mind, for God is with you.”
2 Natan said to David, Do all that is in your heart; for God is with you.2 Then Nathan said unto David, Do all that is in thine heart; for God is with thee. 2 And Nathan said to David, "Do all that is in your heart, for God is with you."
2 Nathan said to David, "Do what you want to do, because God is with you." 2 Nathan said to David, "You should do whatever you have in mind, for God is with you."2 Then Nathan said to David, "(F1)Do all that is in your heart, for God is with you."
2 Then Nathan said to David, "Do whatever is in your heart, for God is with you."2 Nathan said to David, Do all that is in your heart; for God is with you. 2 Then Nathan said to Dauid, Do all that is in thine heart: for God is with thee.2 So Nathan said to David, "Do all that is in your heart, for God is with you."2 And Nathan replied to David, “Do all that is in your heart, for God is with you.”2 Nathan replied, "The Lord is with you—do what you want." 2 Natan said to David, "Go, do everything that is in your heart, for God is with you."
2 And Nathan said to David, Do all that is in thy heart; for God is with thee.
2 Nathan answered David, "You may do what you want to do. God is with you."2 Then Nathan said to David, Go and do all that is in your heart.
2 Nathan answered, "Do whatever you have in mind, because God is with you." 2 And Nathan said to David, "Whatever is in your heart, do, for God is with you."2 And Nathan said to David, Do all that is in your heart, for God is with you.2 Nathan saide vnto Dauid: What so euer is in thine hert, that do: for God is with ye. 2 And Nathan said unto David, Do all that is in thy heart; for God is with thee. 2 And Nathan said to David, Do whatever is in your heart, for God is with you.2 And Nathan sayde vnto Dauid: Do all that is in thyne heart, for God is with thee.2 And Nathan said unto David: 'Do all that is in thy heart; for God is with thee.' 2 Then Nathan sayd vnto Dauid, Doe all that is in thine heart, for God is with thee. 2 And Nathan said to David, Do all that is in thy heart; for God is with thee. 2 And Nathan said unto David, Do all that is in thine heart; for God is with thee. 2 And Nathan seide to Dauid, Do thou alle thingis that ben in thin herte, for God is with thee.2 And Nathan said to David, Do all that is in your heart; for God is with you.2 Then Nathan said to David, Do all that [is] in thy heart; for God [is] with thee.2 Then Nathan said to David, "Do all that is in your heart, for God is with you."
2 Nathan replied to David, "Do whatever you have in mind, for God is with you." 2 Nathan said to David, "Do all that is in your heart. For God is with you." 2 Nathan said to David, "Do all that you have in mind, for God is with you."2 Then said Nathan unto David, All that is in thy heart, do, - for, God, is with thee.2 And Nathan said to David: Do all that is in thy heart: for God is with thee.2 And Nathan said to David, "Do all that is in your heart, for God is with you."2 and Nathan saith unto David, `All that [is] in thy heart do, for God [is] with thee.'2 and Nathan says to David, "All that [is] in your heart do, for God [is] with you."
2 Nathan told David, "Whatever is on your heart, go and do it; God is with you."2 Then Nathan said to David, "Do all that is in your heart, for God is with you."
3 But that night(C1) the word of God came to Nathan: 3 It happened the same night, that the word of God came to Natan, saying,
3 And it came to pass the same night, that the word of God came to Nathan, saying,
3 But that same night the word of the Lord came to Nathan,
3 But that night God spoke his word to Nathan, saying,
3 That night God told Nathan the prophet,
3 But it came about that same night that the word of God came to Nathan, saying,

3 But that same night the word of the Lord came to Nathan, saying: 3 But so it was that, in that night, the word of God came unto Nathan, saying:3 Now that night the word of God came to Nathan, saying:3 But that same night the word of the LORD came to Nathan,3 And it cometh to pass on that night that a word of God is unto Nathan, saying,3 And it comes to pass on that night that a word of God is to Nathan, saying,3-6 But that night, the word of God came to Nathan, saying, "Go and tell my servant David, This is God's word on the matter: You will not build me a ‘house' to live in. Why, I haven't lived in a ‘house' from the time I brought up the children of Israel from Egypt till now; I've gone from one tent and makeshift shelter to another. In all my travels with all Israel, did I ever say to any of the leaders I commanded to shepherd Israel, ‘Why haven't you built me a house of cedar?'
3 It came about the same night that the word of God came to Nathan, saying,4 “Go to David my servant and say, ‘This is what the Lord says: You are not the one to build me a house to dwell in.(C1) 4 Go and tell David my servant, Thus says the LORD, You shall not build me a house to dwell in:
4 Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith the Lord, Thou shalt not build me an house to dwell in: 4 "Go and tell my servant David, ‘Thus says the Lord: (b)It is not you who will build me a house to dwell in. 4 "Go and tell David my servant, ‘This is what the Lord says: You are not the person to build a house for me to live in. 4 "Go, tell my servant David: ‘This is what the Lord says: "You must not build me a house in which to live. 4 "Go and tell David My servant, 'Thus says the LORD, "(C1)You shall not build a house for Me to dwell in;4 "Go and tell David My servant, 'This is what the LORD says: "(C1)You shall not build a house for Me to dwell in;4 Go and tell David my servant, Thus says Yahweh, You shall not build me a house to dwell in: 4 Goe, and tell Dauid my seruant, Thus saith the Lorde, Thou shalt not buylde me an house to dwell in:4 "Go and say to David My servant, 'Thus says Yahweh, "(C1)You shall not build Me a house to inhabit;4 “Go and tell My servant David that this is what the LORD says: You are not the one to build a house for Me to dwell in. 4 to go to David and tell him:
David, you are my servant, so listen carefully: You are not the one to build a temple for me. 4 "Go, and tell David my servant that this is what Adonai says: ‘You are not to build me a house to live in,
4 Go and say to David my servant, Thus saith Jehovah: Thou shalt not build me a house to dwell in; 4 God said,
"Go and tell this to my servant David: The Lord says, ‘David, you are not the one to build a house for me to live in.4 Go and thus say to my servant David, You shall not build me a house to dwell in; 4 "Go and tell my servant David that I say to him, ‘You are not the one to build a temple for me to live in. 4 "Go and say to David my servant, ‘Thus says Yahweh, "You are not to build a house for me to live in, 4 Go, and you shall say to My servant David, So says Jehovah, You shall not build a house for Me to dwell in;4 Go and speake to Dauid my seruaunt: Thus sayeth the LORDE: Thou shalt not buylde me an house to be an habitacio: 4 Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith Jehovah, Thou shalt not build me a house to dwell in: 4 Go and say to David my servant, The Lord says, You are not to make me a house for my living-place:4 Go and tell Dauid my seruaunt, thus sayth the Lorde, Thou shalt not buylde me an house to dwell in:4 'Go and tell David My servant: Thus saith the LORD: Thou shalt not build Me a house to dwell in;4 Goe and tell Dauid my seruant, Thus saith the Lord, Thou shalt not build me an house to dwell in. 4 Go and say to David my servant, Thus said the Lord, Thou shalt not build me a house for me to dwell in it. 4 Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not build me an house to dwell in: 4 and seide, Go thou, and speke to Dauid, my seruaunt, The Lord seith these thingis, Thou schalt not bilde to me an hows to dwelle in;4 Go and tell David my slave, Thus says Yahweh, You shall not build me a house to dwell in:4 Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not build me a house to dwell in:4 "Go and tell My servant David, "Thus says the LORD: "You shall not build Me a house to dwell in.
4 "Go and tell my servant David, ‘This is what the Lord has declared: You are not the one to build a house for me to live in. 4 "Go and tell My servant David, ‘This is what the Lord says. "You will not build a house for Me to live in. 4 Go and tell my servant David: Thus says the Lord: You shall not build me a house to live in. 4 Go and say unto David my servant, Thus, saith Yahweh, - Thou, shalt not build me a house, to dwell in;4 Go, and speak to David my servant: Thus saith the Lord: Thou shalt not build me a house to dwell in.4 "Go and tell my servant David, 'Thus says the LORD: You shall not build me a house to dwell in.4 `Go, and thou hast said unto David My servant, Thus said Jehovah, Thou dost not build for Me the house to dwell in:4 "Go, and you have said to My servant David, Thus said YHWH: You do not build for Me the house to dwell in.4 "Go and tell David My servant, 'Thus says the LORD, "(C1)You shall not build a house for Me to dwell in;5 From the time I brought Israel out of Egypt until today I have not dwelt in a house; instead, I have moved from one tent site to another, and from one tabernacle location to another.(F1)(C1) 5 for I have not lived in a house since the day that I brought up Yisra'el, to this day, but have gone from tent to tent, and from [one] tent [to another].
5 For I have not dwelt in an house since the day that I brought up Israel unto this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another. 5 For I have not lived in a house since the day I brought up Israel to this day, (c)but I have gone from tent to tent and from dwelling to dwelling. 5 From the time I brought Israel out of Egypt until now I have not lived in a house. I have moved from one tent site to another and from one place to another. 5 For I have not lived in a house from the time I brought Israel up from Egypt to the present day. I have lived in a tent that has been in various places. 5 for I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought Israel up from Egypt until this day, (C1)but I have gone from tent to tent and from one dwelling place to another.5 for I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought up Israel to this day, (C1)but I have (F1)gone from tent to tent and from one dwelling place to another.5 for I have not lived in a house since the day that I brought up Israel, to this day, but have gone from tent to tent, and from [one] tent [to another]. 5 For I haue dwelt in no house, since the day that I brought out the childre of Israel vnto this daye, but I haue bene from tent to tent, and from habitation to habitation.5 for I have not inhabited a house since the day that I brought up Israel to this day, (C1)but I have been from tent to tent and from one (F1)dwelling place to another.5 For I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought Israel up from Egypt(a) until this day, but I have moved from tent to tent and dwelling to dwelling. 5 I didn't live in a temple when I brought my people out of Egypt, and I don't live in one now. A tent has always been my home wherever I have gone with them. 5 because from the day I brought up Isra'el until today, I never lived in a house; rather, I've gone from tent to tent and from one tabernacle to another.
5 for I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought up Israel to this day; but I have been from tent to tent, and from [one] tabernacle [to another].5-6 Since the time I brought Israel out of Egypt until now, I have not lived in a house. I have moved around in a tent. I chose people to be special leaders for the Israelites. They were like shepherds for my people. While I was going around in Israel to different places, I never said to any of them: Why haven't you built a house of cedar wood for me?'5 For I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought up Israel out of Egypt to this day; but I moved from tent to tent. 5 From the time I rescued the people of Israel from Egypt until now I have never lived in a temple; I have always lived in tents and moved from place to place. 5 for I have not lived in a house from the day that I brought out Israel unto this day. I have been from tent to tent and from tabernacle to tabernacle. 5 for I have not dwelt in a house from the day that I brought Israel up until this day, but I have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another .5 for I haue dwelt in no house sence the daye that I broughte forth the children of Israel, vnto this daye: But where the Tabernacle and habitacion hath bene, there haue I bene where so euer 5 for I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought up Israel, unto this day, but [a]have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another. 5 For from the day when I took Israel up, till this day, I have had no house, but have gone from tent to tent, and from living-place to living-place.5 For I haue dwelt in no house sence the day that I brought out the children of Israel, vnto this day: but haue gone from tent to tent, and from one habitation to an other.5 for I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought up Israel, unto this day; but have [gone] from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle [to another].5 For I haue not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought vp Israel, vnto this day, but haue gone from tent to tent, and from one Tabernacle to another. 5 For I have not dwelt in a house from the day that I brought up Israel until this day, but I have been in a tabernacle and a tent, 5 for I have not dwelt in an house since the day that I brought up Israel, unto this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from [one] tabernacle [to another]. 5 for Y `dwellide not in an hows, fro that tyme in which Y ledde Israel out of the lond of Egipt til to this dai, but euere Y chaungide places of tabernacle, and dwellide in a tente with al Israel.5 for I haven't dwelt in a house since the day that I brought up Israel, to this day, but have gone from tent to tent, and from [one] tabernacle [to another].5 For I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought up Israel to this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from [one] tabernacle [to another].5 For I have not dwelt in a house since the time that I brought up Israel, even to this day, but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another. 5 I have never lived in a house, from the day I brought the Israelites out of Egypt until this very day. My home has always been a tent, moving from one place to another in a Tabernacle. 5 For I have not lived in a house since the day I brought up Israel to this day. But I have gone from tent to tent and from one place to another to live. 5 For I have not lived in a house since the day I brought out Israel to this very day, but I have lived in a tent and a tabernacle.[a] 5 seeing that I have not dwelt in a house, since the day that I brought up Israel, until this day, - but have been from tent to tent, and without a habitation.5 For I have not remained in a house from the time that I brought up Israel, to this day: but I have been always changing places in a tabernacle, and in a tent,5 For I have not dwelt in a house since the day I led up Israel to this day, but I have gone from tent to tent and from dwelling to dwelling.5 for I have not dwelt in a house from the day that I brought up Israel till this day, and I am from tent unto tent: and from the tabernacle,5 For I have not dwelt in a house from the day that I brought up Israel until this day, and I am [going] from tent to tent, and from the Dwelling Place.5 for I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought up Israel to this day, (C1)but I have (F1)gone from tent to tent and from one dwelling place to another.6 In all my journeys throughout Israel, have I ever spoken a word to even one of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd my people, asking: Why haven’t you built me a house of cedar?’ (C1)
6 In all places in which I have walked with all Yisra'el, spoke I a word with any of the judges of Yisra'el, whom I commanded to be shepherd of my people, saying, Why have you not built me a house of cedar?6 Wheresoever I have walked with all Israel, spake I a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, Why have ye not built me an house of cedars? 6 In all places where I have moved with all Israel, did I speak a word with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd my people, saying, "Why have you not built me a house of cedar?"' 6 As I have moved with the Israelites to different places, I have never said to the leaders, whom I commanded to take care of my people, "Why haven't you built me a house of cedar?"' 6 Wherever I moved throughout Israel, I did not say to any of the leaders whom I appointed to care for my people Israel, ‘Why have you not built me a house made from cedar?'"'6 "Wherever I have walked with all Israel, did I say a word (C1)to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people, saying, 'Why have you not built for Me a house of cedar?'"'6 "In all places where I have walked with all Israel, have I spoken a word (C1)with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people, saying, 'Why have you not built Me a house of cedar?'"'6 In all places in which I have walked with all Israel, spoke I a word with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to be shepherd of my people, saying, Why have you not built me a house of cedar? 6 Wheresoeuer I haue walked with all Israel spake I one word to any of the iudges of Israel (whome I commanded to feede my people) saying, Why haue ye not built mee an house of cedar trees?6 "Wherever I have gone about with all Israel, did I speak a word (C1)with even one of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people, saying, 'Why have you not built Me a house of cedar?'"'6 In all My journeys with all the Israelites, have I ever asked any of the leaders(a) of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people, ‘Why have you not built Me a house of cedar?’ 6 I chose special leaders and told them to be like shepherds for my people Israel. But did I ever say anything to even one of them about building a cedar temple for me? 6 Everywhere I traveled with all Isra'el, did I ever speak a word to any of the judges of Isra'el, whom I ordered to shepherd my people Isra'el, asking, "Why haven't you built me a cedar-wood house?"'
6 In all my going about with all Israel, did I speak a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, Why build ye me not a house of cedars?6 Behold, wherever I have walked with all Israel, did I speak a word to any of the judges of Israel whom I commanded to judge my people Israel, saying, Why have you not built me a house which is covered with cedars? 6 In all my traveling with the people of Israel I never asked any of the leaders that I appointed why they had not built me a temple made of cedar.' 6 In every place I have moved about, did I say one word with the judges of Israel I commanded to shepherd my people, saying, ‘Why have you not built for me a house of cedar?'"' 6 Wherever I have walked up and down among all Israel, have I spoken a word with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed My people, saying, Why have you not built a house of cedars for Me?6 I haue walked in all Israel. I have never asked them, "Why haven't you built me a beautiful cedar house?"' 6 In all the places I have gone with all Israel, have I said a word to any of the judges of Israel about this? Have I said to anyone whom I told to watch over My people, ‘Why have you not built a house of cedar wood for Me?'"' 6 Wherever I have moved about among all Israel, did I ever speak a word with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd my people, saying, Why have you not built me a house of cedar? 6 Wheresoever I have wandered with all Israel, spake I ever, a word, with one of the judges of Israel, whom I charged to shepherd my people, saying, - Wherefore have ye not built me a house of cedars?6 Abiding with all Israel. Did I ever speak to any one, of all the judges of Israel whom I charged to feed my people, saying: Why have you not built me a house of cedar?6 In all places where I have moved with all Israel, did I speak a word with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd my people, saying, "Why have you not built me a house of cedar?"'6 whithersoever I have walked up and down among all Israel, a word spake I, with one of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed My people, saying, Why have ye not built for Me a house of cedars?6 Wherever I have walked up and down among all Israel, have I spoken a word with one of [the] judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed My people, saying, Why have you not built a house of cedars for Me?6 "In all places where I have walked with all Israel, have I spoken a word (C1)with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people, saying, 'Why have you not built for Me a house of cedar?'"'
7 “So now this is what you are to say to my servant David: ‘This is what the Lord of Armies says: I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock, to be ruler over my people Israel.(C1) 7 Now therefore thus shall you tell my servant David, Thus says the LORD of Hosts, I took you from the sheep pen, from following the sheep, that you should be prince over my people Yisra'el:
