Hithpo`el Participle כְּגִבּוֺר מִתְרוֺנֵן מִיָּ֑יִן Psalm 78:65 like a hero overcome by wine (compare "" v a); AV RV De Che and others shout (√רנן), compare ᵑ7; so Hup-Now, with alternate conjecture מִתְעוֺרֵר, and this sense more suitable (compare Luzz Il Pentateuco iii (1874), 162 ( Leviticus 21:7) Perles79). — Proverbs 29:6 see רנן, רוץ.

רָנַן fut. יָרֹן (once יָרוּן as if from the root רוּן Proverbs 29:6), pr. to emit a tremulous and stridulous sound. Specially used
(1) of the tremulous sound of a mast or tall pole shaken by the wind; hence אֹרֶן, תֹּרֶן; also used of the sound of a torrent (see אַרְנוֹן ).
(2) as a verb it is, to vibrate the voice (trillern); hence
(a) to shout for joy, to lift up joyful outcries (but not with an articulate voice), Leviticus 9:24; Job 38:7; Isaiah 12:6, 35:6 54:1. It is also used of inanimate things, Isaiah 44:23, 49:13.
(b) used of a mournful outcry, to wail (wimmern), Lamentations 2:19.
Piel רִנֵּן i.q. Kal No. 2, to shout for joy, Psalms 98:8, 132:16 followed by בְּ concerning anything, Psalms 33:1, 89:13 92:5 followed by עַל (at the destruction of any one), Jeremiah 51:48. But followed by an acc. of person or thing, to celebrate with shouting, Psalms 51:16, 59:17 followed by אֶל Psalms 84:3 לְ Psalms 95:1.

Hiphil הִרְנִין
(1) trans. to cause to shout for joy, Psalms 65:9; Job 29:13.
(2) to shout for joy, to rejoice, Deuteronomy 32:43 followed by לְ Psalms 81:2.
