 I. רָמָה noun feminine height, high-place; — absolute ׳ר as technical term (compare בָּמָה), = shrine (for illicit worship): Ezekiel 16:25; "" גַּב Ezekiel 16:21 Ezekiel 16:31 Ezekiel 16:39; so perhaps 1 Samuel 22:6, but read probably בָּמָה, ᵐ5 Βαμα (A Ραμμα), HPS.

רָמָה

(1)  to cast, to throw, Exodus 15:1, 21 Exodus 15:21. (2)  to shoot (with a bow), Jeremiah 4:29; Psalms 78:9. (Arab. رمى Eth. ረመየ፡ Syr. and Ch. ܪܡܳܐ id. To this answers Gr. ῥίπτω.)

Piel רִמָּה to beguile, to deceive (prop. to throw down, to trip up, like the Gr. σφάλλω; whence Lat. fallo), Proverbs 26:19; Genesis 29:25. Pregn, 1 Chronicles 12:17, לְרַמּוֹתַנִי לְצָרַי “to deceive me (and betray) to my enemies.”

Derivatives, רְמִיָּה, מִרְמָה, הָּרְמָה, תַּרְמִית, and pr.n. יִרְמְיָה.

רָמָה f. (with Kametz impure, from the root רוּם to be lofty)

(1)  a lofty place, 1 Samuel 22:6 especially one consecrated to the worship of idols, Ezekiel 16:24, 25 Ezekiel 16:25, 39 Ezekiel 16:39. Compare בַּמַה.

(2) [Ramah], pr.n.

(a) of a town in the tribe of Benjamin, Judges 19:13 with the art. Isaiah 10:29 to the north of Jerusalem, Joshua 18:25; Judges 4:5; Jeremiah 31:15; Hosea 5:8; 1 Kings 15:17.

(d) רָמַת הַמִּצְפֶּה (“the high place of the watchtower”), Joshua 13:26, a town in Gilead, otherwise called רָאמוֹת, רָמוֹת, verse Joshua 13:9.
