Qal Imperfect 3 masculine singular יַעֲטֹף turn aside (so Ew Di De Bae Kau and others), Job 23:9 he turneth aside to the right (יָמִין; "" שְׂמאֹול בַּעֲשׂתוֺ), read probably 1 singular אֶעֱטֹף Me Bu Du, I turn... and do not see him ( and "" בִּקַּשְׁתִּו׳שׂ).
II. [עָטַף] verb envelop oneself (Aramaism) (Late Hebrew id.; Aramaic עֲטַף, ; Ethiopic covered, also noun web, texture); —
Qal Imperfect 3 masculine singular יַעֲטָףֿ Psalm 73:6; 3 masculine plural יַעַטְפוּ Psalm 65:14; — envelop oneself: Psalm 65:15; the valleys cover themselves with corn ("" לָבַשׁ); שִֿׁית חָמָס לָ֑מוֺ׳יַ Psalm 73:6 they put on for themselves (each) a garb of violence.

עָטַף fut. יַעֲטֹף.
(1) to cover, to cover over, i.q. עָטָה, for which this verb is often used in the Targums. (Arab. عطف IV. to be on, Syr. ܥܛܰܦ to be clothed. Cognate and synonymous roots are עָלַף, עוּף, עָטָה.) Followed by לְ Psalms 73:6, יַטֲָף־שִׁית חָמָס לָמוֹ “a garment of violence covers them;” they are altogether covered over with iniquity, as with a garment. Compare לָבַשׁ.
(2) to be covered, to be clothed. Followed by an acc. Ps. 65:14, עֲמָקִים יַֽעַטְפוּ בָר “the valleys are covered over with corn.” Absol. to hide, or cover over oneself. Job 23:9, יַעְטֹף יָמִין “(if) he cover himself over (i.e. hide) in the south.” Hence מַעְטָפוֹת garments.
(3) to be wrapped in darkness, to languish, to faint (comp. the synonyms עוּף Nos. 3, 4, עָטָה, עָלַף). Used of the heart or soul, Psalms 61:3, 102:1 Isaiah 57:16. Part. pass. עָטוּף fainting, Lamentations 2:19 weak (used of lambs), Genesis 30:42.
