סָאַן
(1) pr.; apparently to be clayey, miry; compare Chald. סָאן, סְיָן; Hebr. סִין clay; kindred to the noun טִין clay. Hence סְאוֹן a shoe, by which we keep the clay and mud from our feet. Hence
(2) to shoe, like the Syr. ܣܙܰܢ. Part. סֹאֵן; see סְאוֹן.
