צִנָּה
(I.) a thorn (from the root צָנַן No. I.), pl. צִנִּים Proverbs 22:5, used of hedges made of thorns, Job 5:5 but צִנּוֹת is used figuratively of hooks, compare חוֹחַ Amos 4:2.
(II.) a shield (from the root צָנַן No. II.), of a larger kind, covering the whole of the soldier, θυρεός (see 1 Kings 10:16), Psalms 35:2, 91:4 Ezekiel 23:24.
(III.) cooling, refreshment, Proverbs 25:13, from the root צָנַן No. III.
