נְפַל Ch. fut. יִפֵל (compare Syr. ܢܶܦܶܠ, in Targ. freq. יִפֻּל), i.q. Heb.
(1) to fall
(a) to fall down, Daniel 7:20, 4:28, קָל מִן־שְׁמַיָּא נְפַל “a voice fell from heaven,” (compare Isaiah 9:7).
(b) to fall out, to happen, Ezra 7:20.
(2) to be cast down, Daniel 3:23 (Syr. ܢܦܠ, to be cast into prison); to prostrate oneself, Daniel 3:6, 7:10, 11 עַל אַנְפּוֹהִי Daniel 2:46.
