כֶּבֶשׂ [pl. כְּבָשִׂים] m. a lamb (pr. progeny of sheep), specially from the first to the third year (see Bochart, Hieroz. i. p. 421, seq.), whence there is often added בֶּן־שְׁנָתוֹ the son of its year, one year old. Numbers 7:15, 21, 33, 39, 45, 51, 57, 63, 69, 75, and in plur. בְּנֵי שָׁנָה Numbers 7:17, 23, 29, 35, 41. Sometimes it is used in a wider sense, and denotes sheep generally, Genesis 21:27.
