";loving self,"; occurs in Bibl. Greek only in 2Ti. 3:2 : cf. Philo Leg. Allegr. 1. 49 (ed. Cohn) φίλαυτος δὲ καὶ ἄθεος ὁ νοῦς οἰόμενος ἴσος εἶναι θεῷ. For the corr. subst. see P Par 26.1. 10 (B.C. 163) (= UPZ i. p. 247, Selections, p. 14) δι᾽ ὀλίων (l. ὀλίγων᾽ τὴν ατῶν ἀδικούντων ἡμᾶκ φιλαυτίαν ἐχθεῖναι.
