συμβῐβ-άζω, Causal of συμβαίνω, bring together: Pass., to be put together, to be knit together, framed, ἔκ τινος Ephesians 4:16, Colossians 2:19.

(The reading συνεβίβασαν in Acts 19:33, given by manuscripts א A B etc. (and adopted by L T Tr WH) yields no sense; (but it may be translated (with R. V. marginal reading) 'some of the multitude instructed Alexander', etc.; R. V. text translates it they brought Alexander out of the multitude, etc.).)

1. to join or knit together, unite: Ephesians 4:16, Colossians 2:2 (but v. infr.), Colossians 2:19.
2. to compare, consider, conclude (Plat.): Acts 16:10.
