Hel. 526, lyr.): (ἅλς B): in, on, of the sea, κῆτος, κορῶναι, Od. 4.443, 5.67, etc.; νομός Archil. 74.8; εἰνάλιον πόνον ἐχοίσας βαθὺν σκευᾶς ἑτέρας while the rest of the tackle is at work fishing deep in the sea, Pi. P. 2.79. cf. Theoc. 21.39; ἐ. πόροι A. Pers. 453; ἐ. θεός, of Poseidon, S. OC 888 (troch.), 1493 (lyr.); ἐ. λεώς sea men, Id. Aj. 565; πόντου εἰναλία φύσις, i.e. the fish, Id. ἐνάλιος, ἐναλιον, or ἐνάλιος, ἐναλια, ἐναλιον (cf. Winer's Grammar, § 11, 1)) ἅλς the sea), that which is in the sea, marine; plural τά ἐναλια marine animals, James 3:7. (Often in Greek writings; the epic form εἰνάλιος as old as Homer.)
