(1)  noise, tumult (Raufchen, Raffeln), e.g. of chariots (Geraffel), Nahum 3:2; Jeremiah 47:3 of horses running, Job 39:24 of battle (Geräufch), Isaiah 9:4; Jeremiah 10:22 but especially crashing in an earthquake; hence an earthquake, 1 Kings 19:11; Amos 1:1; Zechariah 14:5.

(2) trembling, Ezekiel 12:18 brandishing of a spear, Job 41:21.
