(1) to rub or beat in pieces, i.q. Arab. سحق, Exodus 30:36. Figuratively applied to enemies, Psalms 18:43.
(2) to rub or wear away. Job 14:19, אֲבָנִים שָֽׁחֲקוּ מַיִם “the waters wear away (hollow out), the stones.” Hence
