(1) to tread with the feet, as a potter does clay, followed by an acc., Isaiah 41:25 followed by בְּ Nehemiah 3:14, to tread upon, walk over any thing, Psalms 91:13.
(2) to tread down, 2 Kings 7:17, 20 2 Kings 7:20; Daniel 8:7, 10 Isaiah 63:3, 1:12, רְמֹס חֲצֵרַי “to tread down my courts,” i.e. to profane them, compare Revelation 11:2 1Ma_3:45. Part. רֹמֵס a treader down, an oppressor, Isaiah 16:4.
