II. קֶ֫צֶף noun [masculine] probably splinter#NAME?׳כְּקעַלמְּֿנֵימָֿ֑יִם Hosea 10:7 (simile of helpless king).
קֶצֶף m. with suff. קִצְפִּי.
(1) twigs, splinters, so called from being broken off (see the root No. 1), Hosea 10:7. LXX. φρύγανον.
(2) anger, Ecclesiastes 5:16 especially the anger of Jehovah, from the root No. 2, Joshua 9:20, 22:20 Isaiah 34:2, 54:8 60:10 Zechariah 1:2; 2 Chronicles 19:10 altercation, strife, Esther 1:18.
