(1) the nail of the finger, Deuteronomy 21:12 from the root צָפַר No. II. (Arab. ظُفْرُ; Chald. טְפַר id. To the Hebr. צִפֹּרֶן nearly approaches Greek περονή; Germ. Sporn; Eng. Spur.)
(2) a point (of a nail) of a style (of adamant), Jeremiah 17:1. Comp. Plin. H. N. xxxvii. c. 4. 15.
