Qal Imperfect 3 masculine singular suffix וַיִּמְתָּחֵם Isaiah 40:22 and he (׳י) hath spread them (the heavens) out as a tent to dwell in.
מָתַח to spread out, Isaiah 40:22. (Syr. and Ch. id. Eth. ምጥሖ፡ for መውጥሖ፡ to put on, to veil, whence the derivatives signifying cloak. Kindred roots are לָתַח, Sam. נְתַח to spread out, and מָתָה and נָטָה.)
