1 border, rim (enclosure), of sacred table in tabernacle Exodus 25:25 (twice in verse); Exodus 25:27 = Exodus 37:12 (twice in verse); Exodus 37:14; of bases of the sea, in temple 1 Kings 7:28 (twice in verse); 1 Kings 7:29,31,32,35,36 (compare Benz), also 2 Kings 16:17.

II. סגר (√ of following; compare apparently Arabic fill with water Lane1308, torrent that fills everything Id ib.; Syriac imber vehemens, and Samaritan אַסְגָּר, compare Gei Nachgel. Schr. iv. 186).
מִסְגֶּרֶת f. only in plur. מִסְגְּרוֹת (from the root סָנַר).
(1) close places, poet. used of fortified cities, Psalms 18:46; Micah 7:17.
(2) borders, margins (Randleiften), so called from their inclosing, Exodus 25:25, s.q.; 37:14.
(3) 1 Kings 7:28, 29 1 Kings 7:29, 31 1 Kings 7:31, 32 1 Kings 7:32, 35 1 Kings 7:35, 36 1 Kings 7:36; 2 Kings 16:17 ornaments on the brasen bases of the basins, which appear to have been square shields, on the four sides of the bases; see verses 28 1 Kings 7:28, 29 1 Kings 7:29, 31 1 Kings 7:31.
