Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

מָטָר m. pl. constr. מִטְרוֹת Job 37:6 rain, Exodus 9:33; Deuteronomy 11:17 and frequently. מְטַר אַרְצְךָ rain of thy land, i.e. necessary to water thy land, Deuteronomy 28:12, 24 Deuteronomy 28:24 and so מְטַר זַרְעֲךָ Isaiah 30:23. It differs from גֶּשֶׁם a shower.
