1. a. of room connected with a sanctuary (בָּמָה), where sacrificial meal was eaten 1 Samuel 9:22, insert also probably 1 Samuel 1:18 (ᵐ5 We Dr Klo Bu).
b. connected with Solomon's temple, where wine offered to Rechabites Jeremiah 35:2,4; compare Jeremiah 35:4; Jeremiah 35:4 one where prophecy read Jeremiah 36:10 (both these apparently open, compare Gie Jeremiah 35:2); compare לִשְׁכַּת נְתַןמֶֿלֶךְ הַסָּרִיס ֗֗֗ בַּמַּרְוָרִים 2 Kings 23:11; used of Levites' cells 1 Chronicles 9:33; = store-rooms 1 Chronicles 9:26 ("" אֹצָרוֺת), 1 Chronicles 23:28; 1 Chronicles 28:12; 2 Chronicles 31:11.

לִשְׁכָּה f. i.q. נִשְׁכָּה (where see as to its origin [In Thes. suggested to be from לָשַׁךְ]), pl. לְשָׁכוֹת constr. לִשְׁכוֹת, a chamber, a cell, especially used of the cells of the temple, 1 Chronicles 9:26; Ezekiel 40:17, 45 Ezekiel 40:45, 42:1, seq.; Nehemiah 10:38, seq. Once, 1 Samuel 9:22, used of a dining rom; and Jeremiah 36:12, of the room of the royal scribe in the royal palace. [See Thes.]
