I. לָהֵן conjunction therefore (Biblical Hebrew לָהֵן Ruth 1:13 (twice in verse), Aramaic of Têma להן CIS ii. 113 = Cooke195), Daniel 2:6,9; Daniel 4:24 (Lambert RÉJ. 1904. 273 denies I. לָהֵן, taking Biblical Aramaic always as = רַק).
לָהֵן compounded, of לָ and the pron. הֵן (which see), therefore, Ruth 1:13 i.q. לָכֵן.
לָהֵן Ch.
(1) i.q. Heb. therefore, Daniel 2:6, 4:24. It becomes
(2) an adversative particle (just like the Hebrew לָכֵן p. 403, A, on which account many, have regarded this word to be compounded of לָא and הֵן), nevertheless, however, but Ezra 5:12, with a previous negation; but (fondern), Daniel 2:30 unless, Daniel 2:11, 3:28 6:8.
