כֹּה constr. from כָּהוּ (like קְטָלוּ from קְטָלָהוּ, see Hebr. Gramm. ed. 10, p. 24, 82), pr. like as this, i.q. כָּקֶה, Arab. كَذَا i.e.
(1) so, thus, Genesis 32:5; Exodus 3:15. Of very frequent occurrence is the phrase כֹּה אָמַר פּ׳, where the words themselves follow, Judges 11:15 especially in the beginning of communications from God. כֹּה אָמַר יְהֹוָה, “thus saith Jehovah,” Jeremiah 2:2, 7:20 9:16, 22. Rarely in the manner of substantives with a prefix בְּכֹה in this manner (like בְּכֵן for כֵּן), and put twice in this manner … in that manner, 1 Kings 22:20.
(2) When applied to place, hither, here, but this is rare, Genesis 31:37; 2 Samuel 18:30 also doubled, here, there; hither, thither, Numbers 11:31. עַד־כֹּה hitherto, dorthin, Genesis 22:5. כֹּה וָכֹה hither, and thither, Exodus 2:12.
(3) Used of time, now עַד־כֹּה hitherto, Exodus 7:16; Joshua 17:14. עַד־כֹּה וְעַד־כֹּה till now and till then, bis dann und dann, i.e. in the meanwhile; 1 Kings 18:45.
