Qal Imperfect וַיֶּחֱלֶא אָסָאבְּ֗֗֗רַגְלָיו 2 Chronicles 16:12 (= חלה 1 Kings 15:23).
חָלָא (kindred to חָלָה)
(1) probably to rub, also to strip, reiben, aufreiben, ftreichen, aufftreichen. (Arab. حاأ to rub and to smear the eyes with collyrium, aufftreichen, percussit gladio, ftreichen; to strip off skin, abftreifen.) Hence חֶלְאָה. [This is omitted in Ges. corr.]
(2) to be sick or diseased, perhaps properly to be rubbed away, i.q. תָלָה No. 2, 3. It occurs once וַיֶּחֱלֶא 2 Chronicles 16:12. Hence תַּחֲלוּא.
