Combined these mean "mattock of the seed". One of the many agricultural tools was a hoe or mattock. This implement had a wide blade for cutting a plant stalks at the roots. The crops were harvested for a supply of foods, which were stored in jars.

אֹזֶן dual (which is also used as plural) אָזְנַיִם, const. אָזְנֵי f. the ear, from the root אָזַן No. I. (Arab. أُذْنُ, أُذُنُ Eth. እዝን፡ Ch. אוּדֶן, אוּדְנָא, contr. אוּנָא, Syr. ܐܰܕܢܳܐ, ܐܶܕܢܳܐ) Exodus 29:20; Leviticus 8:23, etc. The phrases of which this word forms a part, are considered under the verbs גָּלָה, נָטָה Hiph., פָּתַח, כָּרָה. דִּבֶּר בְּאָזְנֵי פְלֹנִי “to speak in any one’s ears,” i.e. before him and in his hearing, Genesis 20:8, 23:16 44:18 Exodus 10:2. So Isaiah 5:9, בְּאָזְנָי יְהֹוָה “in my ears (said) Jehovah.” Compare 22:14. שׂוּם בְּאָזְנֵי פ״ “to place in any one’s ears,” to deliver something to be perceived by the ears, and to be laid up in the mind of any one, Exodus 17:14. שָׁמַע בְּאָזְנָיו “to hear with one’s ears,” emphatically, Psalms 44:2; Job 28:22.
