1 insolence, presumption toward men; affirmed of David by Eliab 1 Samuel 17:28 ("" רֹעַ לְבָבֶ֑ךָ); usually

זָדוֹן constr. זְדוֹן (as if from the root זָדָה = זִיד), with suff. זְדֹנְךָ 1 Samuel 17:28; Jeremiah 49:16, swelling, pride; as joined with insolence and arrogance, haughtiness. Proverbs 11:2, 13:10 21:24, זְדוֹן לִבֶּךָ “the haughtiness of the heart;” Jeremiah 49:16; Obadiah 1:3; Deuteronomy 17:12. As a concrete used of Babylon, as the most haughty, Jeremiah 50:31, 32 Jeremiah 50:32.
