[גְּרַם] noun [masculine] bone (Biblical Hebrew גֶּ֫רֶם; Christian-Palestinian Aramaic Schulth Lex. 46); — plural suffix גַּרְמֵיהוֺן Daniel 6:25.
גֶּרֶם m.
(1) a bone, i.q. עֶצֶם, but more rarely, and only poet. Proverbs 17:22, 25:15. Pl. Job 40:18. (Syr., Ch. ܓܪܰܡ, ܓܰܪܡܐܳ, גַּרְמָא, Sam. Obadiah 1:5 id., Arab. جِرْمُ body. The letter r, and the sibilant being interchanged, it is kindred to גֶּשֶׁם, جِسْمُ and עֶצֶם itself.
(2) body, as in Arabic. Genesis 49:14, חֲמוֹר גֶּרֶם “an ass of a great and powerful body,” i.e. powerful, robust. Vulg. asinus fortis. So also in Arab. جِرْمُ body, is used of a beast of burden, as فرس جرم a horse of a large body, حمار جرم a strong ass; and the same is expressed with the peculiar adjective جريم.
(3) substance of a thing, a thing itself, like עֶצֶם a bone, himself. 2 Kings 9:13, “and they took every one their garments and put them under him הַמַּעֲלוֹת אֶל־גֶּרֶם upon the steps themselves.”
גֶּרֶם Ch. a bone, Daniel 6:25.
