Syll 538.9 (? B.C. 353) συντιθέντα τοὺς ἁρμοὺς στερίφους, ἁρμόττοντας πανταχῆι, of the walls of a temple. Ib. 540.106 (B.C. 175–1) ἐκ τοῦ προσιόντος ἁρμοῦ : see Dittenberger’s note. The word occurs in connexion with wrenching limbs out of their sockets (ἐξ ἁρμῶν ἀναμοχλεύοντες) in 4 Maccabees 10:5.
