This name is found in P Amh II. 152.11, .22 (v/vi A.D.) : see also Preisigke Namenbuch s.v. Deissmann (BS, p. 316) suggests that the use of Συμεών (for Σίμων) in Acts 15:14 may be due to the solemn character of James’s speech.
