1. throw down a precipice, ἑαυτούς Phld. Ir. p.56 W., cf. Plu. Mar. 45, 2.825b, Luke 4:29 : with a word added, ἀπὸ τοῦ ἄκρου τοῦ κρημνοῦ LXX 2 Chronicles 25:12 : Pass., D. 19.327, Plu. Sull. 1, etc.: pf. part., having fallen over a precipice, X. Cyr. 8.3.41.

2. generally, throw headlong down, ἐκ τριηρέων X. HG 2.1.31; ἀπὸ τῶν ἵππων Plb. 3.116.12; ἀπὸ τοῦ πύργου D.S. 4.31: Pass., X. Cyr. 1.4.7.
