Republic founded in June 2006; during most of the 20th century the area had been part of the various incarnations of Yugoslavia. Only about 4% of the country is Catholic, greatly outnumbered by the Eastern Orthodox and Muslims.
Ecclesiastically, the country is governed by the following archdioceses,
- Beograd-Smederevo
the following dioceses,
- Subotica
- Zrenjanin
and the following other divisions,
- Prizren (Apostolic Administration)
- Serbia e Montenegro (Byzantine Apostolic Exarchate)
