A medal of the Blessed Virgin, used as a badge by sodalities of the Children of Mary and of the Immaculate Conception. It bears on one side an image of our Blessed Mother, with the words "O Mary, Conceived without Sin, Pray for Us Who Have Recourse to Thee." On the reverse side is the letter M with a cross and twelve stars, and beneath are the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. It owes its origin to Saint Catherine Laboure, of the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul, who is said to have been favored with a vision. It is highly indulgenced.
