(1441-1509) Countess of Richmond and Derby daughter of John Beaufort, first Duke of Somerset, and mother of Henry VII. She was noted for piety and charity. A patroness of learning, she provided for readerships in divinity at Oxford and Cambridge, and refounded Christ's College and Saint John's College, Cambridge. She translated the fourth book of the Imitation of Christ into English.
