Verses 1-30
Deuteronomy 22:30 A man shall not take his father's wife, nor discover his father's skirt.
Deuteronomy 22:30 Comments - Paul the apostle dealt with the sin of a son taking his father’s wife in the church of Corinth (1 Corinthians 5:1). It was a common heathen practice for the son of a king to inherit his father’s wives when he takes over the throne from his father. This was the reason that Adonijah asked King Solomon for one of his father’s concubines (1 Kings 2:12-25).
1 Corinthians 5:1, “It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.”
