Verses 1-29
Deuteronomy 14:1 Ye are the children of the LORD your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.
Deuteronomy 14:1 Comments - The children of Israel were not to do as the heathen, cutting their flesh or shaving themselves during funerals. We see an example of the prophets of Baal cutting their flesh in 1 Kings 18:28, “And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.”
