multitude ... about 4,000, cf. Mark 8:9; Matthew 15:32; Matthew 16:10

seven baskets ... large baskets, big enough to hold a man. Probably the type of baskets the fishermen used to put their catch in and carry to the market.
The "baskets" in the feeding of the 5,000 seem to have been the small provisional basket - Mark 8:19-20

Dalmanutha - Matthew 15:39 "Magdala" - another crossing.

tempting him ... Trying to ensnare him. They wanted material to prove He was not the Messiah.

shall no sign be given ... that is, not the type of sign for which they were looking.

he left them ... Abandonment! Tragic!
