Proverbs 4

1:2 instruction; (i-5) 'Wisdom' here and in ver. 7 is chokmah . 'Instruction' means also, 'correction,' 'warning,' 'discipline,' Job 36:10 .

Verse 2

4:2 law. (f-11) Or 'teaching,' as ch. 3.1.

Verse 7

4:7 wisdom; (g-7) Or, 'Wisdom is the principal thing. get wisdom.' 'Beginning' is as Genesis 1:1 ; Psalms 111:10 ; Proverbs 1:7 . see Note b, Leviticus 2:12 .

4:24 corrupt (c-9) Lit. 'corruptness of,' 'inconsistency,' or 'perverseness of.' same root word as ch. 3.32.
