pillars. These "menhirs" constantly dug up to-day. groves = Hebrew. 'asherah. See App-42 .

graven images = sculptures, as in Deuteronomy 7:25 .

hand. Some codices, with Samaritan Pentateuch, The Targum of Jonathan ben Uzziel Septuagint, Syriac, and Vulgate, read "hands" (plural)

as long as thou livest. Hebrew = all the days.

as = according as.
