¹ Iesus went vnto mout Oliuete. ² And early in the mornyng he came agayne into the temple, and all the people came vnto hym, & he sate downe and taught them. ³ And the scribes and pharisees brought vnto hym a woman taken in adulterie, & when they had set her in the middes, ⁴ They sayde vnto hym: Maister, this woman was taken in adulterie, euen as the deede was a doyng. ⁵ Moyses in the lawe commaunded vs that suche shoulde be stoned: But what sayest thou? ⁶ This they sayde to tempte hym, that they myght accuse hym. But Iesus stowped downe, and with his fynger wrote on the grounde. ⁷ So, when they continued asking him, he lyft vp hym selfe, & sayde vnto them: Let hym that is among you without sinne, caste the first stone at her. ⁸ And agayne he stowped downe, and wrote on the grounde. ⁹ And when they hearde this, beyng accused of their owne consciences, they went out one by one, begynnyng at the eldest, euen vnto the last: and Iesus was left alone, & the woman standyng in the myddes. ¹⁰ When Iesus had lyft vp hym selfe, & sawe no man but the woman, he sayde vnto her: Woma where are those thine accusers? Hath no man condempned thee?

When Jesus had lift himself up,.... From the earth, towards which he stooped, and on which he had been writing:

and saw none but the woman; that is, none of those that had brought her there, and had accused her to him:

he said unto her, woman, where are those thine accusers? the Syriac and Arabic versions read only, "where are these?" these men, that brought thee here, and charged thee with this crime:

hath no man condemned thee? has no one offered to do unto thee what I proposed? what, not one that could take up a stone, and cast at thee? was there not one of them free from this sin? could no man take upon him to execute this sentence?

Barnes' Notes on the Bible

Hath no man condemned thee? - Jesus had directed them, if innocent, to cast a stone, thus to condemn her, or to use the power which he gave them to condemn her. No one of them had done that. They had accused her, but they had not proceeded to the act expressive of judicial condemnation.
