27 And [there was] a gate in the inner court towarde the south, and he measured from gate to gate toward the south, a hundred cubites. 28 So he brought me into the inner court thorowe the south gate, and he measured the south gate according to those measures. 29 And the chambers thereof, the frontes therof, and the arches thereof, according to these measures, and wyndowes in it: and in the arches thereof round about, fiftie cubites long, and fiue and twentie cubites broade. 30 And the arches round about [were] fiue and twentie cubites long, and fiue cubites broade. 31 And the arches therof [were] toward the vtter court, and paulme trees vpon the frontes therof, & the goyng vp to it [had] eyght steppes. 32 He brought me also into the inmost court toward the east, and measured the gate according to those measures. 33 And the chambers thereof, and frontes therof, and the arches therof [were] according to these measures, & there were windowes therin, and in the arches therof round about: it [was] fiftie cubites long, & fiue and twentie cubites broade. 34 And the arches therof [were] towarde the vtter court, and paulme trees vpon the frontes thereof on this side and on that side, & the goyng vp to it had eyght steppes. 35 And he brought me to the north gate, & measured it according to those measures. 36 The chambers thereof, the frontes therof, and the arches therof, and [there were] windowes therin rounde about: and the length [was] fiftie cubites, & the breadth fiue and twentie cubites.

the little: The entrance into the inner court seems to have been through a portico, exactly like that at each gate of the outward court; but the ascent was by eight steps, instead of seven. And the little chambers thereof, and the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, according to these measures,.... These were at the gate of the inner court; and so they stand in Cocceius's tables; and were of the same measure with the little chambers, posts, and arches, that were at the several outward gates before described; and design the churches and members of them as spiritual worshippers, who, besides the outward form, have the power of godliness:

and there were windows in it, and in the arches thereof round about; these are not said to be narrow, as the other; which perhaps may denote the greater and more increasing light of the churches, ministers, and members:

it was fifty cubits long, and five and twenty cubits broad: that is, the space or portico where these chambers were; and this was the same measure with that where the other chambers were, Ezekiel 40:13.
