Revelation 3

A Letter to the Outfit in Sardis

1 "To the angel of the outfit in Sardis, write these words:

2 But I'm telling you to get up! Get back in the saddle before I change my mind. You've got a lot to do and little time to do it. 3 Do the things you did at first when you started riding for me. You've gotten lazy and now it's time to come back. If you don't get back on track, I'll come like a horse thief in the night and you won't even know what hit you.

4 Yet, there are a few top hands left in Sardis. They will wear white pearl snap shirts. They will walk with me and ride by my side for they are worthy. 5 The one who is victorious over death will also be in white. I will not erase top hand's names from the Life Book. Even more than that, I will say that cowboy's name personally, with honor, to my Father and the angels when the time comes to stand before the throne.

6 If you've got ears, you best be listening to what the Spirit is saying to the outfits.

A Letter to the Outfit in Philadelphia

7 "To the angel of the outfit in Philadelphia, write these words:

8 I have seen what happened to you. I can tell you are completely spent and worn out. I have opened a door for you that no one can close. You have been loyal to my brand and never denied me. 9 I will make those who ride for the devil, even though they call themselves real cowboys, come and bow down before you and acknowledge that y'all are the real hands who I love. 10 Since you did what I said and rode the tough trail to the end, I will keep you from the time of testing that the rest of the world will have to endure.

11 I'm riding back soon. Don't let up or someone else might steal your prize. 12 All who finish their ride, I will make them a pillar in the house of God. Their spot will forever be theirs. I will write on them the name of God, his city, and my new name that no one knows. 13 If you've got ears, use them to hear what the Spirit says to the outfits.

A Letter to the Outfit in Laodicea

14 "To the angel of the outfit in Laodicea, write these words:

15 I know what you've done. I know you are neither hot nor cold. You can't rope or ride. I wish you could at least do one. 16 I'm fixing to spit you out like a bad taste in my mouth. 17 You think you are rich and don't need anything else. But what you don't understand is you are actually poorer than dirt, blind, and naked. 18 You should listen to me and I'll show you real wealth. What I have has been proven on the tough trails. I have clothes that are white to cover your shame. I have medicine for your eyes to make you see the truth.

19 Listen, if I didn't care, I wouldn't be hard on you. Stand up and be a man and turn your back on the sorry ways that got you into this mess. 20 Look at me! I stand on your porch and knock at your door. Anyone who hears me and invites me in, I will sup with them and them with me.

21 To the one who rides to the end, they will sit on the throne with me. I rode to the end and was invited to sit on the throne with my Father.

22 If you've got ears, you best be listening to what the Spirit is saying to the outfits."
